If I could give no stars I would. They were SO RUDE! They said they would resize my ring and call me in a week. After 4 weeks of not hearing from them I stopped in. They had been «really busy», but mine was the next one they were going to work on. It was finished a couple hours later. If I hadn’t stopped in I would probably still be waiting. When I picked it up it still didn’t fit right. He said, «you know you women, your fingers swell all the time». WHAT?! I told him to give me my ring, I would pay them and then take it somewhere else. He was so rude and condescending, but he did make it right. They told me about another customer that was a real «bitch». I’m sure they are saying the same about me now. How do they stay in business???

I have used Johnson’s for several repairs (ring reset, bracelet repair, watch batteries and watch repair) and have also been very happy with their work. They are very knowledgeable and friendly. Items have been ready when promised and it’s nice to support local businesses.

These guys are slow, unreliable, and frustrating. They never once answered their phone (s) and blamed it on Verizon – weeks later, the phones (including private cell phone #) still didn’t work.
I must have gone to the store a dozen times all together just because they won’t answer their phones.

Nice to have a longstanding family-​run business in the neighborhood. I appreciate the reliable service that they provide — and the reasonable prices.

This is the first post I have ever done to review anything online. My experience was bad enough that it’s worth the time to write this.
I got engaged with my husband’s grandmother’s heirloom ring from the 1930s. She’s a robust lady, so I needed to get it sized down significantly. I brought the ring to William R. Johnson who said they could get it done in a week. So, I left the ring with them. A week passed. Two weeks passed. I called and they seemed irritated that I was bugging them about getting the ring completed. Another week passed. So, I stopped in, which is no small task because they don’t have hours on their voicemail machine and they NEVER call back. They blamed the delay on Mother’s Day which lay somewhere in the many weeks that they had my ring. When I was their in-​person, they said they would get it done by Monday (which was only a few days away). So, I went to pick the ring up that Monday. It kind of fit but was still pretty big, but I was so happy to get my ring back that I paid them for the ring and got the heck out of there.
I’m not a jeweler, so I don’t know what to look out for. But we were shopping for a ring for my husband at Gilt in NW. They were wonderful. I mentioned my engagement ring, they took a look at it for me. Turns out that not only did William R Johnson resize my engagement ring a ¼ of a size too big (no small amount), but they finished my platinum ring with white gold (cheaper substance)! I had Gilt re-​do the job for me. When I got my ring back from Gilt, it had only been a week, and my ring was 10 times better than I could have imagined. Now I know what I should have been getting from William R Johnson… The experience did not compare.
It’s been almost a year since my experience with William R Johnson. I’m not one to hold a grudge but every time I look at the ring on my hand, it still haunts me. What a horrible experience.

Great local watch repair shop. They have outstanding knowledge and can work on high end watches and have certified techs for tag and Rolex
