Does anyone have any contact information? I had a wonderful massage therapist named Michelle that I would love to track down.

I was so excited to try Wack Salon and Massage; and as if the cosmic world was talking to me a LivingSocial deal appeared in my Inbox. Yipee! The best of both worlds. I have been trying to book a weekend appointment with Wack Salon for 3 months every time I booked on their fabulous online calender I would get a call that that time slot is not available but I am on the waiting list. I anticipated such a delay because of the number of deals sold. Then come middle of May they moved locations; again not a big deal. HOWEVER fast forward one month and I get another notice in my Inbox that Wack Salon will no longer honor vouchers for their Groupon nor their LivingSocials. Of course I am told a refund is headed my way in 2 weeks, but what an absolute joke. I have no intention what-so-ever of trying their services. They must have an amazing clientele and no need for any new business. I know they won’t get mine and I have encouraged all of my friends to do the same.

I’m giving this place only 1 star because they did not have the courtesy to send me an email and give me a call to let me know that my appointment was canceled. I was scheduled for a massage this Saturday and just happen to go on their website when I found out that they MOVED and were not sure WHERE they would move to. I’m not so sure about the management of this place. Sadly, my friend had paid for the LivingSocial package. I hope she gets reimbursed.

Really sad to learn via Unilocal that the salon is closed. I was all set for a massage and facial appt today and just happened to check for recent reviews. No one called to tell me my appointment would be canceled due to closure. I took time off work for this appointment. Upon listening to the phone recording I understand they are trying to do well by customers by looking for a better location but that sure would have been nice to know a few days ago. As it stands my appointment is in two hours and no phone call. Kind of crappy if you expect people to follow you to your new location.

CLOSEDASOF05÷18÷11 If anyone has appointments, living socials, or groupons, I saw on the glass that they are not there anymore. All the windows are dark. Nothing. Call the owners if you have questions. The Jupiter hotel has no relation to them so do not call the front desk for help with this matter.

They might do good work, but they don’t listen. My stylist did a great job with the color, but when I asked for a shoulder-length cut I ended up with hair 2 inches shorter than my chin. Everyone agrees the color looks great(there’s some weird root issues on one side, but you can’t see it unless you know where it is — having worked at a cosmetology school, I unfortunately notice it), but the cut is not at all what I wanted, and I in fact hate it. I cried for 2 days and tried calling my old hair stylist out of retirement: she told me it’s too short to do anything until it grows another 4 inches. Hair is not just an art — it’s primarily a service industry. I don’t care if you think it looks fine, it matters what I think and that you do what I ask.

Wow! Lance did a great job on my hair, really amazing. I can be pretty particular about my color. Usually I give the stylist a big spiel about wanting my color to look natural and the grow out to blend blah blah blah anyway I was kinda distracted when I got in to the chair so I didn’t go through all that with Lance. I just said make it look good, do what you think is right. He totally nailed it. Best color I’ve had in the last year easily. The cut is great too, maybe a tad shorter than I would like but he got rid of all my dry split ends so I can’t complain too much and the blow out he did looks great. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him and I will definitely be going back. I think his price point is very reasonable actually it’s a good deal for the level of skill you get, hair is definitely one thing where you get what you pay for generally. As for particulars about the salon, the other stylist seemed professional and greeted me when I came in. The space is small but not uncomfortably so. It’s right inside the same space as the Jupiter Hotel and Doug Fir lounge, in the recently cleaned up inner East Burnside area which had easy street parking on the side streets.

I loved my experience here! I had a STELLAR massage, a facial and a foot soak. The(foot) soaking tub is lovely, and what a relaxing way to fill out your intake! They’ve really made the most of a small space. From the outside it seems as if there’s no way they could fit everything in, but they do, and it’s darling. I have never before had a massage and facial not only in the same room but with the same practitioner! I was expecting to get up, don a robe, saunter on down the hall… nope! My lady turned me over after my massage and commenced the facial. Wonderful stuff. My one, very small, issue stems from the lack of a reception area. There was initial confusion over the phone(two phone calls, a mix up about waxing and then about scheduling), and when I walked into the«Massage Rooms» entrance(which is where the soaking tub is), I felt as if I was walking into someone’s private service. Which was awkward for about a second and a half, until I was greeted by my LMT. After that, all concerns melted away. All in all a spectacular experience that set my day off on a very happy note. Would return for sure.

You Portlanders are so lucky! Lance has just joined the team at Wack. Now, if I only lived in Portland.(Although he did come to San Diego and do my hair for a wedding recently.) Lance was my stylist is Washington DC for many years. After I moved there and had tried many other salons I found him and never looked back. He is excellent at both color and cut and will gently steer you away from any self sabotage. I have not found a stylist who compares to Lance in the 3 cities I’ve lived in since DC so if you are lucky enough to be nearby stop in and check out his work. Lance, Good luck at Wack! xoxo

Got a brow wax with Kathleen, I’m super picky and have a hard time with most people because they don’t listen or don’t even ask sometimes, Kathleen was quite the opposite she listened to everything I said and did my brows just how I like them!

I saw Danielle, who perfectly blended the lower clippered part with the longer thin gray shit on the top of my head. The place is great too! Light and open to all the folks walking by.

Just got wacked at Wack! I went to see my favorite hairstylist in the world: Lucynda Beth Thompson. She used to own the Dirty Little Secret on MLK, but they fell victim to the sucky economy and had to close. Now, her and Aimee are at Wack, and doing quite well!!! Lucynda did her usual bang up job, and I feel fabulous, even with my horrid hangover. The space is light and airy, with lots of windows to view the passing guests at the Jupiter Hotel and Doug Fir.
