Awesome private karaōke rooms where you can jam out and be yourself. Service is always friendly and helpful here! I appreciate the unisex restrooms. My only suggestion would be to improve the cocktail selection to highlight more seasonal drinks and local spirits.

Fun times! Bring a card though because they ask for one as soon as you walk in. Private rooms make for a fun private party. Only two restrooms though. And they are unisex restrooms so I frown on that because I don’t like walking in to a dirty restroom or toilet seat up even though these restrooms were clean. I just don’t like sharing restrooms with the guys.

I left with no voice. It was awesome. So my best friend from Florida was visiting, and we had a lady date here. It.was.awesome. We arrived early because we didn’t time the train right, and there were super nice and got us checked into a room early. We had done our research and learned you can search their music library online and create a list of favorite songs before, so you can just show up and sing. Such a cool idea. No books to try and search through(they have those too, but I HIGHLY suggest taking the online route). We both made lists, and could connect through both our phones so we both could easily search and add songs to the list. It was effortless and saved us a lot of time. You get your own private room which is cool. Operating the songs was super easy with our phones and the remote. You could even set the lighting in the room– which we obviously selected the disco lights. Our host explained everything and set us up with cocktails before we started. We sang for our 2 hours, and then actually extended for another hour because we were having too much fun. And the best part, it is only $ 5 per person, per hour during non peak times(i.e friday and saturday nights). Super affordable and super fun. I only have two complaints, and they aren’t even really complaints. So there is no backing voice track on the songs like most karaōke, it is just you. It is weird at first, but you get used to it really quick. It also got really hot in the room. Granted we were dancing pretty hard and jumping around, but I can’t imagine how warm it gets with a larger party of people. We fixed that pretty easily with lots of cocktails, and the water they provided in the room. It was so fun, and we will definitely be back. It is a great option when you want to do something different with your friends.

The service here was amazing. The front door girl was really welcoming and helpful. Bar wasn’t filled or anything and the drink were good. I didn’t even know they sell candy here! I prefer this location over their other one. Will definitely return again and sing my heart away like I’m on tour with yeezy!

Love this place but hard to get into on the weekends. The week day staff is very nice and friendly. The weekend staff is a bit surly and unaccommodating. If weekends were easier to get into I would add a star.

Cool place. You get yourself a nice private room with your friends and you can jam out to your favorite karaōke hits without sitting through a bunch of esoteric hipster songs by Ramona Falls(unless of course that what you and your friends are in to). I love the app to request songs, no one has to fight over the book or figure out how to use the machine. You just go to the website, enter the code and fire away. Our server was very helpful. She stopped by several times and did a very good job of keeping the checks straight. I’m not so sure about the value, but right now they are free to drive the market as they wish. In asia these places are a dime a dozen. Why not in America? The only thing I don’t like is the gratuity. I get tipping the server for bring us food and drinks. However I don’t really understand tipping for the karaōke service since we are the ones operating the machine. I don’t tip the car wash guy for letting me drive through the car wash. I don’t tip the frozen yogurt guy for letting me use the frozen yogurt machines. I don’t feel I should have to tip for being allowed to use the karaōke machines. Who exactly am I tipping anyway? Overall though, great product that I love.

I don’t sing too much, but I do love coming here for the experience of listening to others sing! We would start at a nearby restaurant/bar for dinner and drinks, then come to our reserved room at the Voicebox for my sister’s birthday party. The setting is so fun. Each room has a disco ball, lighting rig, comfy couches, and room services. We had such a fun time here. It’s even nice to hang outside in the lounge area at the bar. They have food as well. Get your party on here, if you haven’t experience it yet!

Do you want to sing karaōke? But scared of embarrassing yourself in front of strangers? Well, fear no more! Now you can reserve that embarrassment for just your friends by going to Voicebox! This is a cute little spot right off 23rd. I love the fact that they’re bringing«karaōke-only» bars to mainstream PDX. It’s reminiscent of the ones they have in Tokyo – dedicated rooms with a central bar that delivers both drinks and food to you while you belt your heart out to «Girls Just Want to Have Fun.»(Wait, is that just me? Really? Okayyy). I always have a great time when I come here. I will say that if you’re used to Karaōke night at dive bars(or going to Asian restaurants/bars for Karaōke) you’ll be surprised that it’s a bit pricey. But again, it’s a different concept since you’re booking it for that time slot for you and your friends. What I like the most about Voicebox is the fact that it’s a super customizable experience(a la Japan): You can change the lights(rave it up!) and create a queue of songs for you/friends to sing. And if there’s no one booked after you you can extend your time – which, at that point you’ll do, because, let’s face it, you’re buzzed and someone needs to do their rendition of Thriller. So you’ll do it. And you’ll kill it.

Voicebox has a great set up and usually is a really great time. The service we experienced here sucked. While the ladies at the front were really nice and seemed happy to be there, the guy behind the bar seemed like he had other places to be. Our party ordered a few round of drinks from him he just wasn’t a happy dude. When we asked what type of particular liquor they had, without any emotion, told me to look behind him. I know I wasn’t holding up the line since there was no one in line. My friend asked for something fun and he just stared at her. Come her to sing and hang out but I recommend getting your drinks elsewhere.

This place is off the hook! It combines the best of communal and private karaōke bars. They have rooms of all sizes. We booked the biggest room for our group of 22(it has a capacity of ~30) and it was perfect. It was also a steal at only $ 80/hour weekday rate(it’s more expensive on weekend evenings.) The bar in the middle was great. They had a reasonably good selection of beer and cocktails, and you could also get food in case you were hungry. Since it was Wednesday, they had happy hour all night! While at the bar, you could see(and to a degree, hear) people having fun in the rooms. But once you got into your room, the noise was well-insulated from the other rooms. What really made this place awesome was the song catalog & the ease of selection! In addition to books, you could look up songs on their website, and enter a code to choose a song online. They had a lot of «2nd and 3rd» singles from new wave artists, whereas many karaōke bars only have the biggest hits. Also, a number of people in our group were from China, and they had an amazing Chinese and international song selection! We were having such a good time that we extended our reservation all the way until closing time!

Awesome karaōke joint! Great service, tasty drinks(definitely try the plum sake!), and smart technology that makes picking songs a breeze. You can even change the key on your songs if you wanted to. You can also turn on DISCO lighting in your room, which we left on for our entire session! Woohoo! Clean bathrooms too. Next time I’ll have to try their food.

Best. Party. Ever. We had such a great time. The staff was so welcoming and made everyone feel comfortable right away. Great service, tasty food and quality drinks. I felt the whole night was very affordable. If you are worried about guests not participating, don’t. Our group turned out having a 4-hour sing along and it was a blast. The systems were easy to use and the song selection incredible.

I’ve been here four times now and each time is better than last. Get the biggest group you can when I’m trying to fill up the big room.

Soooo… the service was great and the overall atmosphere and experience was great. The bartender was attentive and was able to thin a crowd of thirsty guests in meer minutes and the music selection and pricing was definitely reasonable. I have no complaints about the service or any of the employees in the least. However an establishment can’t just be judged on service alone. I understand that this is a karaōke bar. Meaning you come drink, and sing songs with friends(loads of fun). But when you drink and laugh you also want to eat… and as a bar in Oregon you are required to serve some sort of warm food. And that is exactly what you will find here…(to my, and probably others dismay.) I understand that it isn’t the cook’s fault but whoever created this hot pocket microwave menu… I can clearly see a full kitchen, with potential not even utilized in the slightest… the drink menu is all about sake and trying to showcase Japanese influenced drinks which makes sense because karaōke is japanese. But the food menu is all(sub divebar) pizza(if you can call it a pizza) tots, quesadilla, hummus, etc… wtf?! The only thing japanese on the menu is edamame??? And there is banh mi which isn’t japanese… but it is Asian food. None the less, I am upset as well as others I talked with about the food MENU(note that I am not complaining about the cooking, I’ve eaten the food… multiple items just to try and prove myself wrong) Whoever made this menu needs to get slapped in the face because business and profit for this awesome company is being lost. People who are here in a room for 5 hrs are going to get hungry and will want to be more than satisfied with well developed dishes to chose from. also slow days and slow hrs of the day won’t be slow if there is more incentive to come here because the food kicked ass. Just think about it. Really. The menu here is a joke and you all know it. better food should be coming out of here… by now…(because Voicebox is awesome!!) it would really increase the rating and satisfaction of your customers, even if you think your doing just fine right now(you always could be doing better). Thank you for listening to my rant. Hope you don’t think I’m just hating on you because I’m not. Just some criticism. :))

Voicebox was the first karaōke bar I’ve been to in Oregon. When I came inside, the venue looked clean and modern. We were greeted by a very friendly male server, he was very sweet and all of my friends enjoyed his service. Room: The room had different lighting options. We could either have it dark and intimate, lit, or there were also party lights that moved around the room. The room had 2 microphones, outlets for us to charge our cell phones, water and cups, and lots of seating. Super room for or party of 5. Song selection/music: There was so much new music! I loved how many options I had for songs and how there was a place for us to suggest new songs for future dates on the counter as well. I’ve never been to a karaōke bar with such an updated list of songs. I also enjoyed how I was able to create a playlist before I came in to save time. I also enjoy how we were able to change the pitch of the songs as well. Food: I ordered their loaded tater tots and they were so good! My friends and I ate them all pretty quickly. I was disappointed that we didn’t have a bigger but the general point of the place is to sing and drink so I’m not going to dock off a star for that. Service: Our server was great. He answered all of the questions, provided prompt service, made us laugh and made us feel very comfortable and happy to be there. When we accidentally dropped a glass they cleaned it up, brought us another tea and didn’t act annoyed at all because we did so. All in all, I had a wonderful experience. I can’t wait to be back!

First time at a Karaōke bar, and I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the experience is. You call in advance and book a room(5 – 6 people, $ 5 an hour per person). They have an extensive song list, and its easy to add songs to the list via ur smartphone. The food and drinks are also pretty good. I got the thai chicken pizza which wasn’t bad at all! All in all, a good place to spend a couple of hours with a group of friends.

My rating is solely for the fact that this is such an expensive place for a simple concept. We went here for a friend’s birthday celebration, while it was a lot of fun, it was also a little tedious to change songs. They only have their custom software for queuing songs and the search and play is not as easy as it could be considering how easily we can find a karaōke version of most songs in YouTube. Definitely stop and think of you can just play songs on YouTube at home instead of paying so much and worrying about ending the party early.

Best karaōke bar I’ve been too. Service is good. Drinks are actually pretty impressive. Prices are affordable. Go during the week, skip this place on the weekend. You’re not gonna make it in if you didn’t make a reservation. Only negative is the speakers can seem pretty quiet. Not your microphone, the songs themselves. For what? Four dollars an hour? It’s perfect.

The food and the drink are good. The service is great. The only problem is the sound… very bad. Voice box should put on the wall some acoustic carpet or sound panels. The sound is loud and very aggressive for the ears. With a good acoustic equipment we shouldn’t have to scream. I’m a sound engineer so I know what I talking about. Voice box is a great place but it’s primary function is to be karaōke. Thx.

As far as private karaōke rooms go, Voicebox has everyone beat. I’ve tried private karaōke boxes in Beaverton and Portland. You can dim the lights in the rooms, turn on the disco balls… they even have tambourines for you to play if you wanted to. The staff was very friendly and taught us how to work the karaōke and lights. You can order food and drinks in the rooms as well. Definitely more fun with the more people you include!

Order up sake, wine and beer while you sing it out with your friends in a private room. I’m partial to Asian style karaōke, having your own area allows everyone to get in on the singing action and your shy friends will be much more willing to take to the mic after a few ounces of liquid courage. Voicebox has a dark and warm interior, the main lobby is surrounded by adjoining rooms that can accommodate various sized parties(the largest can fit 20 or so people). You should make a reservation in advance as this place appears to be pretty busy. Great song selection, I’m partial to throwback 90s female trios(destiny’s child, tlc, blaque, 3lw). Friendly attentive staff. Use your smart phone to pick songs, a lot easier than using the remote. Only negative is that most of the songs are missing the weird or cheesy music videos that accompany the lyrics.

I feel like I can’t properly review this place because I didn’t have any food or drink here. But I CAN rate it on how freakin awesome it is to have a private karaōke party! Hellllooooo!!! Hit me baby one more time cuz I’m a genie in a bottle! The only possible problem was that I kept taking the mic away from people all night… I’m such a karaōke hog! Someone stop me! Ok don’t. Because I might thrown down on Lady Marmalade. Be afraid(not really). I will definitely be back here. This is a special gem of a place that is appreciated by the tone deaf and american idol wanna-be’s alike! I wanted to stay longer. They had to kick me out. Next time I’ll partake in some Happy Hour and I bet that will bump this up to 5 stars.
