Veranda Noodle House

Their food is amazing. We have tried something new each time we have gone and haven’t been disappointed (orange chicken, veranda fried rice, pepper steak). Especially love their steamed dumplings and phở. Portions are large enough to share. Service is good for the most part; kitchen is super fast but there is one server who is slow and doesn’t seem to know what she is doing. All in all, love this place!

My son and I were in Portland for the night and were overwhelmed by the many wonderful food options available to us. After looking at multiple Unilocal reviews, we decided to give Veranda Noodle House a try because it was the new restaurant and the block. What a treat!
We walked from our hotel and easily found this cute restaurant. We were promptly greeted and seated by a woman. The atmosphere was clean, modern and comfortable. Veranda has a beautiful bar and prepared my son a fresh, tasty, lemonade and I enjoyed one of the many beers on the menu. Our appetizers were prepared quickly and were fresh and tasty. We shared an order of Fresh Spring Rolls with shrimp. The vegetables were fresh and I really enjoyed the delicious peanut sauce served on the side. My son is unable to eat peanut products, so they provided a clear sauce for dipping that he enjoyed. My son also ordered the Puffed Calamari. I am not a fan of fried food, but this was fresh, a had a nice, light, crispy batter (almost a tempura) and I would highly recommend as well.
For dinner, I ordered the Shrimp Nested in Baby Bok Choy. What a treat! The bok choy was fresh and crisp, the house BBQ sauce provided just the right additional flavor and the shrimp were large and plentiful. My son ordered the Crispy Bird Nest and requested the mixed meat. He really enjoyed the fresh vegetables and the delicately prepared meat. The noodles were crisp and tasty. I would recommend both.
All in all, it was a great dinner and I would highly recommend!

My daughter’s and I were very happy with our meals tonight– we shared a few appetizers and we all had wonderful meals. The serving sizes were generous. The waitstaff was helpful with questions about the menu.
