Went here for lunch. The service was quick. I had the Phở Ga which was delicious. Very small parking lot.

Tried veranda for the first time, will definitely be going back. I ordered the orange chicken which was the best that I have had in Maine, good enough to make me want to write a review. My girlfriend got some noodle dish that was also amazing and tasted just as good reheated. Great price and good beer as well. Definitely give this place a try!

Disappointed with their Phở. Very bland without much flavor. I wouldn’t come back for their Phở. Didn’t try the other items, so those might be good. I just wouldn’t recommend the phở.

It was a Saturday night, and I was suffering from jetlag and an empty refrigerator. Well, actually, there were moldy lemons and a rotten cucumber in the fridge. Alas, I had no idea that such ingredients would prove themselves to be more appetizing than the meal I was about to have. Where to begin? Time was ticking, so I phoned in an order before my options ran out. Let me state very clearly that this was a very sad dinner. «Sad» and«dinner» are two words you never want to hear together. Thus, I treat calories and men the same: if they make me sad, I don’t swallow. Anyway, I was quite disappointed at my $ 30 loss. I would’ve bought Powerball tickets or 1.5 lap dances if I was looking to build myself up for nothing. The spring rolls tasted gross: 3 spoiled, stuffed schlongs, with chewy foreskin-like wrappers. The steamed wontons were soft, cold, and had a very unpleasant(unfresh like pants after an international flight) flavor as well. Hoping for mouthfuls of happiness, I received only mouthfuls of limp, sogginess instead. The phở had potential, but the raw beef does not make a good delivery food. It looked like flaps of genitalia in my soup, the temperature was not appropriate, and even upon microwaving… it was repulsive. Sorry, but this was simply inedible, and I wouldn’t even consent to this if drunk. I give credit to the driver for making a very prompt delivery. However, pleasing a lady is not about speed. He came fast, but I was rather unsatisfied. Ain’t nobody got time phở dat.

PHO the record… I want to start by saying I always pay 20% tip as I was a waiter for years and know very well how hard people work for their tip in the restaurant industry. Some are good at it some are bad at it(like me) I always tip because it is tough out there. I am even the type that if my food is wrong I just shut up and eat it.(my wife thinks I am a wimp) I went in for some Phở, no one came to the table for 20 minutes(we were 5 feet away from the hostess and the waitresses) I watched a young girl sit there and do nothing. At one point they served hot food to an unoccupied table that was right next to us and still did not acknowledge us(I later figured out that someone had called in ahead of time to order) 30 minutes in we waived at her and she came over. Took our order and brought the food and drinks. Never heard from her again. 30 minutes after we were done eating after awkwardly failing to make eye contact I finally walked up to the desk and asked if we could please pay.(again she had moments where she was doing nothing) After all of this and a $ 50 bill I decided that they were not deserving of a tip. I left it Zero(that is when the fun started) Both the manager and the young girl who barely acknowledged us aggressively approached me and demanded a tip. They said that I was obligated to tip. I asked her what she wanted a tip for and she said«who brought the food to the table». She also made a comment about feeling sorry for my mother. I said that my family had nothing to do with this and she swore at me and told me never to come back(I don’t need any help meeting that request). Bad service, aggressive staff and a sense of entitlement for carry 3 bowls of soup and 3 glasses of water 5 feet from the kitchen to our table. The FOOD is awesome and I will have to secretly order take out but wow I will never go inside that place again.

My favorite spot for Phở in Portland! Fresh and authentic, served with traditional condiments of bean sprout, basil and lime. Friendly service, very casual, off the beaten path

I had bun on my recent visit. It was quite good but I thought it had too much lettuce. I almost couldn’t find the rice noodles. And I wasn’t a fan of large pieces of raw onion. The beef was delicious though. I had the same dish at Saigon on Forest Ave and I think theirs is better. The service was very good. More than one woman tended to our table. Both young women were very friendly and smiling.

I tried phở with meatballs. The meatballs are so big but not my type. I was so disappointed by the food and service. It seemed that there were only two waitresses around, which slowed everything down. We even waited for 15 minutes to get water. I don’t think I will be back.

Extremely good food. Never had a bad meal there. The drinks are well made and there’s an extensive list of bottled beers from all over the world. The one thing to keep in mind is that this isn’t the place to go for a quick meal. The staff do ok but it’s more like they get to you at their own convenience. The food makes it worth it, just don’t try to run in before going to the movie.

If you like Phở and you live in Portland this is one of very few options. And it’s by far the best I’ve had in the area. That being said I’ve spent extensive time in the Far East and what can I say. The Phở is better over there, but I suppose that’s to be expected. If anyone knows of a place in the greater Portland area serving better Phở then the noodle bar, please let me know so I can go there immediately.

We came here on the recommendation of the landlady of our vacation house in Falmouth. We did not go away disappointed! Usually I try to stay away from ethnic food in very White communities because the food strays away from its roots. But my landlady is a foodie and well-traveled, so I trusted her judgment. As soon as we walked in, I could smell the spices used for cooking and I was immediately comforted. The restaurant just smelled right, if you know what I mean. My husband ordered an extra large phở. It truly was. He was extremely happy with the portion size. The noodles in the phở was chewier than what he was used to, but he really liked it and preferred Veranda’s. He thought the phở was delicious. I ordered the grilled pork and egg roll vermicelli bowl(bun). The grilled pork was marinated in a delicious slightly sweet and spicy sauce. The egg roll was fried to a nice crisp. I wish I could have had another egg roll in the dish. There was a good mix of vegetables. It was a very hearty dish without being heavy. I ate well. Service was friendly and quick. Great place to eat.

First time eating at this ethnic Asian noodle bar that’s about a mile from my home. Great neighborhood setting with parking. Rustic Asian décor… but I liked it. Very friendly staff and attentive service. They have several styles of noodle dishes and noodle soup styles including Phở. I went with a vermicelli style noodle dish with Vietnamese ham and ground shrimp. First… the portion was oversized… especially for the modest $ 11 dinner price. The dish has sugar cured ham wedges with a funky ground shrimp mixture… lots of noodles, cucumbers, carrots, and spices. It created a hot spice and cold texture of the veggies mixed with the shrimp and ham(uncured pork, sugared and fried)…it was delicious. Very authentic and visually pleasing when served in a large bowl… perfect heat, cooled by the cukes… Two entrees… a Mai Thai and 20% tip was $ 40…very reasonable… The menu is expansive… I’ll be back to try more, Recommend 4 stars

I’m a big noodle fan and I especially like phở so this place seemed like an okay pick for dinner. There was parking, the décor seemed pretty nice, the waitress was friendly, but unfortunately, the food got me sick. I ordered the Phở Dac Biet and the food honestly seemed at least edible, but by the time I got home, I was sitting on the throne. There were definitely other people enjoying their meals(not phở) so I may be back at some point to give them another chance, but generally if I get sick at a place, I usually don’t go back.

Short story; Nope. Nope. Nope. To expound: I LOVE noodles. I was super excited to go here on an early dinner adventure with one of my friends. She had previously really enjoyed her trip here and was excited to share it with me because she knows how much I love to eat. When we walked in, there was a large group of Asian men sitting at a long table in the front. This will be important later. We were fairly quickly greeted and sat. He handed us the menus and left. Crickets. It took a long time to even place an order and probably ten minutes to get our drinks. I would have understood if they were busy, but the girl behind the bar was wiping the counter and watching television. We quickly decided what we wanted and ordered a drink each and some noodles. I ordered steamed noodles with beef and my friend ordered fried noodles. We also ordered spring rolls(fresh) and tempura. The tempura was great. The spring rolls were okay but LOADED with onions. The entrees came and my friend’s dish was equally as loaded with onions. My noodles were vastly under flavored. To be honest, the whole thing was kind of gross. At this point, I excused myself to use the powder room. The. Floor. Was. So. Sticky. My sandals were sticking to the floor. Gross. At this point, I was ready to be out of there pronto!!! It took over fifteen minutes to ask for the check and another ten to get it. So to summarize: Nope. Nope. Nope.

So delicious that I can’t stop eating there. Huge portions, quality produce, and some of the friendliest people in all of Portland. The jasmine tea is delicious(not to mention free!) and the orange slices to round out the meal are so much better than the standard fortune cookies! I highly recommend the lo mein(done in a wok, not oily, and a great, smoky flavor) or any of the soups. The soups all come with a plate piled high with crispy bean sprouts, fresh cilantro, lime, etc. There is a new and fantastic flavor in every bite here! You will not be disappointed.

Always consistently good. Try the v4 and add a sliced spring roll to it. Light and the shrimp are grilled perfectly. My second go to is the crispy lime in with tofu. Lots of veggies with a delish brown sauce served over crispy noodles

Everything here was very good on my lunch visit. The house special phở had a delicious broth, the flank steak was tender and the meatballs were tasty(if a bit gray). The chicken wings were super crispy and moist, and my dining companions loved their summer rolls, stuffed wings and crispy lo mein. Everything was very fresh and the service was spot on. I’d give this place more along the lines of 4.5 stars.

I’m a lover of phở, so when I found this place, I was dying to try it! The phở is pretty good — I’m vegetarian, so I had the vegetarian broth phở with steamed tofu(not on the menu, but all you have to do is ask). I really liked the flavor of the broth, but the veggies and the noodles themselves needed to be cooked a little longer to be perfect. Other than the slightly undercooked food, I thought the environment was cute, servers were really nice, and the after-meal«dessert» of sliced oranges was a pleasant treat. Definitely a good place for phở-lovers!
