Union Way is a decent addition to the Pearl District. It is a series of stores near Powell’s Books, mostly selling hipster products that don’t perform any big function as electronics do. The Quin candy store might be worthwhile. The interior has a good design, though don’t expect even the conveniences of a strip mall. However, as a place in the Pearl, there is enough to do on the merits of location. I’ve been here approximately twice. This is interesting as it does connect two streets. I wouldn’t be bothered if this weren’t here though I have no objection to it being here. A lot of big groups of friends walk around, and the doors are big. This is just a small location, but it does have a ramen place. This mall deserves to get bigger.

Cute little shopping alleyway. One side is straight across Stumptown coffee and the ACE hotel. The other side is steps away from Powell’s Books. Pricey boutique shops, tiny small candy shop, and a few more. Nothing fantastic. Clean, modern sleek look perfect for an easy walkway. I honestly wish they should fill this place up with more of the crafty local popup shop stores.(Cough cough like: Crafty Wonderland or Tender Loving Empire) just saying. That’s me. Only thing I like about this place is its location, and clean lines. Everything else, eh. Yawn.

Union Way is a quaint little alleyway that takes you from Burnside Street to Stark Street. Once inside you’ll find several higher end clothing boutiques which aren’t exactly my taste as they seem rather boring, like Danner Boots for example… YAWN. Then there is the very awesome Little T which is an amazing little bakery. I’ve yet to try the very popular Boxer Ramen which despite mixed reviews always seems busy. I was rather hoping some fancy, fun, and eclectically edgy clothing/shoe shops would move in. Maybe sometime in the future my dream of cool shop(s) will be realized. So for now, Union Way is simply a means to get from point A. to point B. 2014 — Review # 20

I hope they will be able to sustain and maintain the quaint little alley. I hope there will be very low and slow turn overs unlike the restaurant scene in the city. I like the diversity and novelty it brings but it could be the same downfall if quality and price will not be seen by their target demographic. Give me some boots and rain coat then lets go to to a noodle place and eat candy after.

As far as I’ve found, this is the most comprehensive selection of D.S. & Durga fragrances in Portland. The knowledgable and friendly owner helped me select«Mississippi Medicine» which I love. Samples are spritzed and presented in glass funnels making the decision process a bit easier.

Well, hello there, fun little shopping alleyway! Tucked into the building that also holds Fish Grotto, this is a new retail area that’s kinda inside, kinda outside, kinda European and totally Portland. It’s not quite done yet, but a few businesses are up and running in there, including: Quin (artisan candy by the Saint Cupcake folks) Steven Alan
Spruce Apothecary VERY soon-to-be-opened Boxer Ramen(Micah Camden’s new spot) and Danner Boots will be up and running this month, and in total there will be 12 shops in this development. Formerly Red Cap and Aura(RIP), they’ve essentially gutted the middle of the building to create this pedestrian-friendly shopping block that connects visitors from Powell’s to the Ace Hotel. Make sure to look up when you walk through to see some of the old trusses they’ve kept intact, making a cool juxtaposition between modern and antique. Keep an eye on this spot, surely to be a cool mini-promenade soon. I can definitely see myself wandering through the shops after a nice lil nosh at Clyde Common or before a movie at Living Room Theaters.
