I rolled in 12 minutes before closing, hoping to grab a sandwich to go, as I was in the last ¼ of my road trip from San Francisco to Seattle. My care taker was friendly and agreed to fire up the hot press to make a Friday’s Child, hot sandwich for me to take with me. They usually shut down food an hour or so before closing, but she didn’t want me to go on hungry. It looks like I may have missed the night’s live music. If it were earlier, I would have loved to hang out at this music-bar. It harkins back to the … 70s, with actual turntables spinning vinyl records. Definitely«retro». They have old albums and clothes for sale. There were conventional hipsters hanging out, but the retro atmosphere reminds me that hipsters are the retro-hippies, and looked quite at home here. The pressed sandwich was very good. It had a nice crispy crunch followed by a nice mix of flavors(cheese, tangy peppers, pesto, etc). It also came with some crunchy potato chips and a homemade slaw. It hit the spot, the first food since breakfast, at 11pm. Now, only three more hours on the road.

Interesting décor… the staff was very friendly, food was reasonably priced and the chili was tasty.

They had a large selection of beers. The food was okay, but all the choices were vegetarian or vegan. We are neither… So we had hummus… Safe bet, and yes it was good. Even with some weird pickled peppers… Odd in my mind, but tried it anyway and it… wasn’t bad. They offered these pickled peppers with most of their choices. They were spicy but not too hot. But, mind you, I’m a wuss when it comes to HOT food! We went as a spur of the moment based on the fact I’d driven by a few times. They had live music that night. When we first walked in there was a band playing their last song. They ended as we were ordering our drinks. Then came the fun part. There was a man there, 45ish… playing some weird mix-music… Basically scratching CD’s/discs so that they sounded like a VERYLOUD dialup/fax tone. It was terrible! Luckily you CAN take your beer outside, so we did. We could still hear the tune, though at a much lessen pitch. Oh boy, I can still hear that screech and it was just dreadful! Not his music per say, but the tone itself. We came back in once he finished and another couple guys got up with their guitars. Turns out on of their friends was in the audience celebrating a birthday so that made for a fun time! After a couple drinks and our dip we made like babies and headed out! ;) Oh and they sell records. If you’re into that they seemed to have quite the selection — maybe 100 or so discs… Maybe more. The album covers lined the walls. The lighting was low. The feeling of the room was good. The crowd seemed like couples or groups. Nice place to sit and chat or just hang out on the couch with a brewski. We may return seeing as they offer live music…

A really beautiful labor of love. It reminds me of portland in the late 90’s. Great owner hosting interesting shows and the place has character up the yin yang. A fun place to both see and play a show! Never had the food but it does have a small meñu. Just vocals through the pa generally in which the owner has run the sound when i’ve been there.

This is an eclectic little spot. Re-sale clothing, pick and play your own vinyl, live music, beer, cider or wine and anything you want to eat that can be made with a George Forman grill. The art and furniture are garage sale chic. it is a fun place to come hang for a pint, peruse the vintage t-shirts for sale and listen to some tunes. Might want o get a grilled cheese while our there.

This is everything right about Portland encapsulated in one tiny location. Great food, great beer, friendly people, records, live music, and a sincere, local attitude.

Perfect lil space to grab a glass of your preferred wine or beer, or CIDER, as that has been blowing up in popularity these days. Listen to some LPs, take an album home with you… They have been increasingly putting on shows and every time I walk by, there are happy merry lil concert goers inside and out. Check it out and support a local NoPo business.

I recently played music here with my band, When We Met. Upon arrival I shopped for clothes and purchased a cute sweater and hoodie on the CHEAP! Super nice staff, great smelling food(did not have time to eat). Beer and wine, fine with me, I’m a wine drinker. Great crowd, we would play here again, or just hang out sometime.

The. Best. Neighborhood. Bar. It’s a true gem, with a great beer selection, wonderful ambience, and the friendliest owner you’ll ever meet. Great place to watch the blazers(happy hour while they lead), peruse old records, and shop some vintage goodies.

They’ve been playing the SF Giants on a projector during the playoffs, so it gets five stars from me. They’ve got a couple good veggie/vegan options, too.

Eclectic little record slash thrift store. Very accommodating owner who offers six draft beers and some nice menu items. All types of seating… lounge on a couch or bring in your laptop and blog away at one of the mosaic tiled type tables. Something for everyone here. Feel free to just pop in and browse the clothes rack. They have a record listening station, too. I drank the Green Flash Road Warrior Imperial Rye IPA and noshed a couple chips and salsa. The salsa was Hot Mama Salsa brand produced by a local woman. I love spice, the hotter the better. This salsa was Medium and it had a great kick to it. Nice job! Great place to chill out without the ordeal of a regular bar or café. I was here early, 5pm, so not sure about the later night scene with live shows.

Great spot! Tasty chickpea dip and a bunch of really cool records. Imagine the shop from High Fidelity with less pompousness and beers on tap(the Cascade Lakes Mosaic IPA was delicious). I’ll definitely hit this place up next time I’m in town.

Turn! Turn! Turn! is good stuff! The owner is super nice and it was a blast to watch the Trail Blazers there. The owner had a raffle going during the game and my lady and I scored a free beer and some chips and salsa! It was a thoughtful, fun little gesture that made the games even that much more exciting. I’m not that big into records but it seems like a pretty awesome selection. I do love the clothing rack, and last night I had an impromptu shirt shopping trip with a stranger while we waited in the bathroom line. I got really tempted to buy a $ 3 shirt(at the urging of my new friend) but decided against it at the last minute. One of the best things about Turn is their constantly rotating selection of beers. You won’t find the same old beers, and there is a great variety too. The wine shrub is awesome too. Turn is definitely a welcome addition to my hood!

If you’ve ever felt like sipping an IPA while picking up a John Fahey record, or browsing cowboy shirts after ordering a veggie burger, welcome to Turn Turn Turn. I know the owners, and after a visit, you will too. This place is a rare push in the right direction for Portland’s character.
