I got the deluxe bacon cheeseburger & one machacado taco. Both were great and the prices here can’t be beat! Tacos are $ 1-$ 1.50. Burritos average $ 4.50. The Burger I got was $ 5.50 but it also came with fries. They have a pretty good selection of different kinds of tacos and burritos to choose from(both veggie & meat). They also have ice cream and milkshakes. Highly recommended if you’re on a low budget and you want good food.

Got some fried zucchini(my favorite) and green pepper chicken tamales! they were really yummy and for a pretty good price! The fried zucchini was a whole zucchini cut up to fry shaped pieces battered in a light but flavorful kind of ranch tasting batter and it cost $ 3.99. The tamales were really yummy! and only $ 1.50 each! My friends also ordered food off of the Mexican food menu and they thought their orders were also very good. So Tonalli’s Mexican food is pretty good, have yet to try the burgers.

This is a solid burger. Not gourmet, just a good fast burger, the kind we used get before big chains made it impossible to find. There should be one these on every corner. Very good milkshake as well.

I figured I’d give it a shot based on my love of Tonalli’s Donuts(best in Portland.) The boy behind the counter was very nice and it looked like there were some good Mexican options on the menu, but I ordered a burger and fries. The burger was rubbery and the bun was dry, almost stale. They did use freshly shredded green romaine lettuce rather than the standard iceberg, but this didn’t help the burger much. The fries were hot and crispy, but just your standard frozen from a bag crinkle cut fries. I probably won’t be back.

My boyfriend and I both had upset stomachs after we ate here and their burgers are super bland. Great milkshakes though.

I eat here all the time, it’s a great tasty little family owned grease pit. The burgers are the best in the neighborhood and their breakfast burritos are an awesome hangover cure. Their shakes are made fresh and they have doghnuts from their shop on alberta. Very nice staff. I would avoid most of their Mexican fare, it’s pretty mediocre and better at catilinas across the street. Stick with a burger or sandwich and you’ll be very happy.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for awhile, but was never hungry when I was by there or thought about it. I finally went for lunch today and it was as I expected: old school style fast food; a large, well made burger with all of the toppings in the correct configuration(this is important to me; I was a sandwich technician at Wendy’s and took my job very seriously!!) The mustard must go on the bottom bun, beneath the meat, and then add pickles(dill only), the meat, the cheese, the onion, the tomato, the lettuce, the ketchup, the mayo, the top bun. This one had bacon, and was quite tasty. The basket combo cost $ 6.95 and consisted of the well-configured double patty bacon cheeseburger, a generous serving of crinkle fries with a subtle peppering of some kind of chili spice, and a drink. They also had a wide array of mexican dishes, so I was intrigued. They also serve breakfast. Its a nice, clean little place, with good food at decent prices.
