I miss my Tilly Monte Cristo! Solid 3.5 stars, but rounded up for great service. Paul was amazingly attentive, and even took my expired Entertainment coupon! Decent bar menu with anytime breakfast offerings. The old Tilly stench is gone, and the live music is several times a week. I will be back!

New owners have done a fabulous job. Have been going to the Tilly for 30+ years, skipped the last 5 because of previous owners. Very excited to have our neighborhood bar back!

Stiff drinks, solid bar food and friendly servers. What more do you need? It is really dark inside, a bit like a cave… prepare to squint if you leave and the big bright orb is in the sky! The new owners have really made some improvements in the food, cleanliness and overall sense of the place. Great bloody Mary’s in the morning, with hardly anyone in the place. I hope breakfast picks up or fear they’ll shut the doors. Then where would I go for a wicked bloody mary on Sunday with no screaming kids?

Great food and great live music. Thought we’d have to sell out on our healthy diet, but that wasn’t the case at all. Donna had the Chicken Burger w/o the bun, and I had the Southwestern Chicken Salad. Those plus a 16 oz microbrew and a Gin and Tonic for $ 20 total. Can you believe that. Killer!

Some things change… some don’t. And sometimes the changes most people can’t see. The Tillicum on Beaverton Hillsdale Highway makes ME look young and I like that in a bar. But THIS bar has changed hands a LOT and the first thing you should know is it’s is NOW called, «THETILLICUMCLUB». Make a note because if you search for a band or the menu you will likely find yourself at the previous owners dead website. Once famous as a smokey dive bar with cheap beer, video poker machines and garage bands… that’s gone. But that’s ok. At least it’s open. Most drinks are $ 5 and the once cheap sandwiches run $ 6 — $ 10 with generous fries or slaw sides. I had the prime rib dip @ a fully priced $ 10 and we shared the Appetizer Combo sampler @ $ 9.50. Appetizer, 2 sandwiches, 2 wines and 2 sodas= $ 40 + tip. The band we heard last night was good, service was better, no smoke and no poker machines… YES! And it’s great the new owners(did not meet them) are keeping«The people»(the REAL Chinook translation of «Tillicum») alive. So when looking for a time travel to 1980(or 1880 when it was already 10 years old) …click on «THETILLICUMCLUB using the correct website: And for a little history: AND funny the menu makes a big deal about breakfast at all hours. THAT’S going to be a while before I try that. Oh, almost forgot… when the band is not playing, there is a heavy sports bar vibe with several HD TVs running most all ESPN channels.

The Tillicum is a bar where the lighting, the furniture, the staff, the food, and the music all come together to form the most wonderful experience. Undoubtedly this is one of the most comfortable bars I have visited in a long time. The Tillicum has recently come under new ownership. The present owners also operate The Pit Stop in Beaverton. The new management has done wonders with The Tillicum. The food and drink menus are fantastic. The Tillicum offers both a breakfast menu and a regular food menu. According to the breakfast menu The Tillicum serves breakfast all day and every day. The main menu offers the usual comfort foods like sandwiches, burgers, and fish & chips. However, there are also some surprises like meatloaf, prime rib, and steaks. The prices are fantastic. Most menu items are around $ 10-$ 11 with the higher end entrees going for around $ 16. On our visit we tried the Bacon Ranch Burger and the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich. The burger was well constructed and delicious. The Philly Cheesesteak featured prime rib for the meat. The Tillicum does one of the best cheesesteaks in town. We opted for the rosemary garlic French fries for our side dishes. They were without a doubt some of the tastiest and savory French fries we have ever had. The staff at The Tillicum was friendly and attentive. Our Tillicum evening was topped off by some wonderful jazz performed by the Robert Moore trio. If I’ve ever had a more pleasant experience in a bar I sure can’t remember when.

The Tilly is BACK! I have been there twice now since the reopening and I have to say… so far so good. I did brunch with a friend on the Friday of their hard opening and then dinner with Miz Mona last night. On both occasions the service was personable and friendly. I have had long chats with both Dani(the new owner) and Heather(General Manager) and both seem bound and determined to bring the old girl back to her former glory. What I have sampled of the food so far is as good if not better than before, The Chicken Fried Steak was crisp tender, although, and this is just my opinion, the gravy was just a tad bit on the bland side.(I use a lot of pepper in mine.) Last night Miz Mona had the Prime Rib Dip, which she pronounced ‘Delish” and I tried the bacon cheese burger. It is so gratifying to order a burger medium and actually get it that way. Plenty of thick cut bacon and lots of fresh toppings. Most noticeably missing from the menu is my favorite dish from the old days… The Monte Cristo Sandwich. I mentioned it to Dani and apparently I am not the first to do so. Her kitchen staff is hard at work at perfecting it done right… that is dipped in egg batter and fried as opposed to being done on the flat top. Getting it done right seems to be the prevailing attitude among the new management and they seem to be dedicating to resurrecting The Tillicum as the premier Westside music venue it once was

Came in last night to check it out after new management. What a difference, much more organized and a little more upscale. Sandy Saunders Band on stage, had to wait for a seat, but it was worth it. Drinks were a little on the spendy side, $ 4.50 for Vodka Tonic, but no cover charge plus good service made it well worth it. Had prime rib dip, delicious! I’ll be back to see this band, I hope, and other nights with music. The sound guy had the music dialed in, not sure if he was a house fixture or with the band, If I didn’t have to park next door, and if the drinks were a dollar less, I’d have given 5 stars

Update: Now it IS closed. Sorry to see it go. _________ Steve D is incorrect!!! The Tillicum in not closed, it is alive & well. They recently closed for a bar gut & remodel, but are now open & featuring the same great music they always did.

The Tillicum — CLOSED I celebrated my 21st birthday here in 1976 and tonight I had the honor of being the very last patron. The owners were trying to close but were very gracious in serving us food and drink nonetheless. Rumor has it that it may be a Mexican restaurant or even a Fred Meyer gas station but I will always remember it as the place I had my first legal beer(probably an Oly) with my dear old Dad, Lawrence K Duncan. We will miss you, Tillicum!

We came here for dinner and when we arrived, it happened to be a night there was a band. It wasn’t very busy when we arrived. I ordered the special, which was the Tillicum Dip with a side of potato salad. My fiancé ordered the chicken fried steak. The waitress was nice. The food took a while to get back to us. It took about 30 minutes and I got french fries instead of potato salad. OK fine. The sandwich was okay. Nothing out of the ordinary although I expected a little more for a dip named after the place. Would I come back here again? Probably but not of my own accord.

If you love jalapeño poppers, you HAVE to try theirs! Made fresh each day, these aren’t your usual frozen-then-fried poppers. A real treat — but a warning for those who can’t handle the heat — they are hot! And wonderful. Décor is the same as it has been for years but service was amazingly friendly and I look forward to going back. Was there too early to comment on «night life» as we were the only party there for a while.

I’ve been going to the Tillicum since days beyond. I haven’t been in awhile and DH and I were in the area. I want to say first and foremost and overall, that the food here is like nothing you would expect from such a place. You’re thinking typical bar /Pub food, actully… no. I was pleasantly surprised by the how good the food was. Granted only had something off the HH menu but what little we had was enough to knock my socks off. Typically the hot wings in these kinds of places are dry and just ick! The buffalo wings here were quite juicy and hot. I had the Chicken Pot stickers, was just enough to hit the spot but I think I wanted more. Got some big drinks too, I always get my vodka on the rocks, I only needed a couple here. Thanks for the memories Tillicum again! :)

I adore this bar. The Happy Hour rocks and the drinks are strong. The pool tables are often too busy to get in, but the play is free and is always a good time. The live music is right up my ally with a variety of local rock and blues. And being located a few miles from my house makes it ideal for a good stroll home!
