I like this place a lot. Nice comfortable place to chill out with friends, good beer, really good food, and friendly service. Perfect!

Wayyyyyy over priced for what you get food wise. Nice place though but go for happy hour

Red Eye tacos were a nice starter to our shared burger and two brews. Nice staff and a pleasant experience, especially since this was our first stop in Portland. A great welcome.

This mcmenamins is pretty consistent, good food and drinks and the wait staff aren’t the typical apathetic, «why are you bothering me» type that mcmenamins likes to hire. I definitely recommend this one over some of the area mcmenamins.

This place has incredibly bad service. We waited like 20 min to order and another 40 min for our food to come. My boyfriend got whiskey while we were here, had had one glass and then asked for a water, so naturally the waitress brought yet another whiskey. The food here is okay but the service is absolutely terrible. Will not be coming back.

Ok I want to like this place, but… Let me start with the positive’s, burgers are really good, beer selection is ok and the tables are a little cramped. The rest of the food needs some work. The issue is how much the service ignores you here. I went for lunch and the waitress Essie seemed nice, but more involved with rubbing herself than helping. The menu prices were reasonable. Asked about the tea selection and the waitress just told me I could have black or green. I was at a loss since other Mcmenamins I have been to have so many! Was not very busy this sunday morning but the waitress almost seemed to make it her initiative to ignore us for 15 minutes. I asked the other waitress where she went, she said,“let me go get her.” and she then disappears for some time too! I can’t believe there are these older gals who just like to hid behind the bar avoiding to help us. Finally she comes with our drinks and asks if we are ready? I believe after reading the menu 20 times while she chatted away allowed us enough time to decide on a burger. Horrible service, maybe it was the time, but never do I want to return.

Been coming here for years as it is near my work and my home. They have always had great customer service. However, only recently has the food elevated to the level of excellent. Keep coming back for the Boilermaker(yum), but my husband had the 19th Hole and it was fantastic. Avocados alone are fresh and amazing.

I been coming here for years. Ir a great place to take my 3 kids with no money. I wish i had 0 kids and 3 money, honeslty. I look at my kids and a some times i see the disapoint in there eyes. As a man I appricate Mcmemamins family atmosphere becaus the lack one I provided at home. But with hard work I can win my family back. They have really good pizza.

I do not know how these people stay in business with such incredibly bad bad bad drink offerings coupled with some of the slowest and most«attitudinal» service in the region. There is lighted sign in the window which says«cocktails». Don’t let it fool you, these folks are apparently totally clueless as to how to make a basic cocktail. I went in for a cocktail with a friend. It was mid afternoon — not during a busy time. I ordered a «Double Bloody Mary». It took forever to get my drink. When my drink finally arrived it was anything but a Bloody Mary. Here it is the middle of December the SMALL glass was crammed full with as much ice as it could possibly hold. Whatever was in the glass was transparent — you could literally see through the fluid in the glass… wha t little there actually was. There was a small slice of lime laying on top of the glass. I took one sip of the mess in the glass. I could not detect any alcohol, or was there any smell of alcohol. I also could not detected the taste or smell of tomato juice in the glass. It appeared to be a glass of ice water with afew teaspoons of some odd off flavor in it. The food server was«absent». I had to ask another server to find him. I explained that what I had been served was not the«DOUBLE Bloody Mary» I had ordered. If the food server had been aware of what a Bloody Mary should look like… it was obvious a mistake had been made. I stead, he started arguing with me –telling me tha t «this is the way they are always made here». There are substantial issues with the bar service in this place. There is no reason to patronize this place!

The food was good, the people were friendly, and I liked the atmosphere. The down side was it took 30 minutes to get our food in a non-busy hour.

This place is a very convenient stop for me, being close to both my work and my apartment. I often come here with friends or coworkers, since it’s nearby, the food isn’t bad, and there’s a decent selection of beer/wine/mixed drinks. That being said, this isn’t necessarily my first choice. While their fish and chips are absolutely amazing(seriously, some of the best I’ve had), I feel that their burgers are nothing special and are kind of overpriced. I enjoy the Red Eye Burrito as well; it’s also a bit pricey, but it’s humongous, so I feel you get your money’s worth. The service here is a little iffy. Sometimes I end up with a really awesome waiter or waitress who actually… you know… pays attention to us and maybe refills our drinks now and again. But other times I end up with lacking service, no one taking our drink order for a very long time(even though it isn’t busy), no refills for ages, no one taking our food order, not getting the check even when I’ve asked for it, etc. So just be aware that the service is very hit and miss here, but not necessarily bad enough to be a dealbreaker or anything. No one is outright rude, just unattentive. Basically, this is a pretty decent choice for a meetup with friends or coworkers. The atmosphere in the place is actually very cool, and if you’re going more for drinks than for food, this is actually a great place to go.

The beer here is always consistently good. Cajun tots always great. The other food and service gets a meh. I ordered the Aztec salad which came out soggy and overdressed for my table mates. I ordered dressing on the side but my salad came out completely different then theirs. For $ 10 the salad was not entrée sized. The burgers are always cooked well. As long as you don’t expect quick or good service then getting a decent beer and burger is your best bet here.

I didn’t realize this place is such an empire in the greater PNW, but alas, it is. Pretty good, like the environment — thanks to my friends who took me here!

This is place is just«okay», not really A-OK. Service was good. We were a group of 10 ladies. Our server was patient with our talking all around her and took a photo for us. But the food is nothing exceptional. Got a burger and the cajun tots. Homemade bun was good, but there was no flavor to the beef. Tots were okay. You could get this food anywhere.

My wife and I have eaten here twice, both times we greatly enjoyed our meals. The burgers are pretty darn good and the buns are homemade. I’m not normally a tater tot fan, but McMenamins famous tots are actually pretty darn good! Combine these with the Portland Ketchup Company ketchup and you have a good meal. The mac & cheese is also really good, as are the parmesan garlic knots. The only dish we would recommend avoiding is the by-the-slice pizza. It was cold and not good at all. A disappointment but I imagine it’s more of a logistics problem than anything. I wouldn’t say the service was bad but it was definitely slow both times we went. Kind of get the feeling the staff have to juggle more than they should to keep everything going, and that means things get forgotten. If you’re in a rush, might not be the best place. Only thing keeping it from 5 stars. Prices were what you’d expect, burgers are like $ 9 – 10, fancier stuff a little higher. Happy hour actually has a reasonable food menu, we usually use that to supplement our meals and it cuts costs. Atmosphere is nice and fun. We will definitely be going back.

After work exploration, shock with joy with this near by location. I arrived early and waited around till it opened. When I went in a bit after 11AM the place was already packed. I sat at the bar and ordered a sampler tray. The weighters couldn’t decide who would serve us, it was 3 different ladies till a good one. It was me & a coworker and only received one menu to share. They constantly asked if we were going to order food, like they never have any one get drunk here. All I wanted was a few drinks before heading home to sleep. Little did they know I had my breakfast before going in. I felt pressured to buy an appraiser. This place comes off as more of a diner then a pub or a bar. It is way to busy and dislike that they recycle the sampler trays instead of letting you keep them. Maybe in a few months I’ll give it a second change or not. If i do ill be sure to sit at a booth instead of the bar.

Not bad, service here has had its good and bad days but mostly good and it’s my local mcmenamins so I’m here often. Their burger, Cajun tots and hammerhead is a solid way to go. I leave with a full stomach and a cool buzz. The gyro is pretty good and dantes sandwich, although messy is good too. I recently became aware of ‘rubber head’ which is ruby and hammerhead together — worthy a try!

McMenamin’s is a local institution out here in the Northwest and they are often located in hip, renovated old houses, hotels or schools, but we found one out here the burbs tucked in the Cedar Hills strip mall by the Winco. The place was halfway full at four on Friday afternoon. The waiter was really eager. We ordered from the happy hour menu a four dollar hotdog, two four dollar cheese burgers, BBQ sweet potato fries and a glass(12 oz?) each of their ruby and cherry wheat ales. Both drinks were decent and the waiter gave us tasters before we ordered. The hotdog was decent sized, but the burgers were only sliders. It’s not really a deal if the burgers are tiny, you know? The mustard and ketchup were locally made, so that was nice. The total tab was $ 21 for a light late lunch/early dinner. The place was really filling up as we left, so we’re glad we came early.

3.5 It was a perfect night for a burger and beer on the patio. It’s surprising to me that this McMenamins even has a patio, considering it is in the Winco parking lot. I had the basic burger, which was very good, and done the way I requested. It came with fries, which were way overcooked and undersalted. My companions had the burger with mushrooms(which he said was good) and the Cubano(which was also apparently good). Service and food were very slow, but it was packed on a sunny Friday night, so I’m not terribly surprised. We’ll be back, because we always are. McMenamins isn’t fancy, and it shouldn’t try to be. It’s a basic neighborhood pub where we can stop in at the last minute for a burger. The fries need work. I’m also not a fan of their organic ketchup. Burgers and fries need the classic, Heinz.

Solid place to go for a beer and to kick back and catch up with friends. Also, their breadsticks are surprisingly delicious! But order them with a side of ranch, the marinara sauce isn’t anything special. I branched out from just ordering a Hammerhead this time and went with the Stephen Weizen. A great decision! Very light and crisp.
