The Leotard

We love The Leotard. There are several dance stores closer to us and we always drive out to The Leotard. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. And they carry actual boys dance wear. Other stores have told my son to just use girls pants etc.

Love this store for dance shorts! It’s hard to find the perfect booty short and this place has me covered! Great selection and staff.

Great for tights, shoes and all things dance. They give 10% off on tights and shoes for certain dance schools, so ask!

Came here to get some tap shoes for my daughter. We arrived just after they closed. They were kind enough to quickly let us in so we could purchase the shoes in time for our new class. Above and beyond they went. Have been going here for sometime and we always have a good experience. They have it all!

It was a very enjoyable experience and very helpful for my ballet needs!!! The staff was extremely knowledgable for Pointe shoe fittings, we found the perfect pair and learned a lot about shoe sizing.

We have come here on three different occasions for my sons ballet shoes & leggings. The staff is always very knowledgable and helpful and do a good job of fitting his shoes. They are trying to expand more of their boys clothing, which I really hope happens. It’s difficult to find. I also appreciate that they always remember to ask and include his student discount of 10% for the program he attends. Thank you!

Huge selection for my kid, much bigger store than we are used to in Oregon. Prices are pretty good also.

Our teen dancer has been getting supplies here since a tiny toddler. They’re friendly and very helpful with shoe fittings. Worth a visit.

Someone helped me as soon as I walked in the store. The employee helped me with sizing and selecting ballet shoes for my upcoming class. The selection was very good, and my size was in stock in several colors. Check out was efficient, and they offered a discount since I was taking a class. Great customer service!

I was excited to visit this business as a first-​time ‘ballet Mom’ to purchase dance gear for my daughter’s first class.
Earlier today, I first called The Leotard to ask if what the dance school required was available. I provided the specific sizes and product names/​numbers. The gentleman told me over the phone that yes, they carried all sizes of that specific style and color which the school requires.
As a result, I drove across town about 6 pm tonight after work with my daughter.
First, they did not have the size she wanted, nor in the color that is requiired.
Second, after I had placed more than $ 50 worth of items to purchase at the register, my 4-​year-​old walked out of the fitting room and stated that she thought she had ‘pooped’ in her underwear, while trying on one of their larger leotards which she cannot wear to the dance class. in fact, she had ‘leaked’ a bit and only in her underwear. Although I promptly handed the leotard to the main clerk, he told me that it smelled like poop and that either I could buy it or they would throw it away. He made me feel 100% obligated and almost ashamed. It was so embarrassing. He was stuffy and rude.
Well, I went ahead and purchased the leotard, and it does NOT smell anythinbg other than brand-​new.
Bottom line is, this is not the way to treat a customer, especially for a $ 19 item.

My daughter is a circus artist and we’ve been going to the Leotard store for years. they are always soooo helpful especially with special orders. I highly recommend them they’re great!

Everyone here is so knowledgable and helpful. I’ve been buying my daughter’s dance gear here since she started. I appreciate the professional shoe fitting help. I can’t imagine trying to dance in shoes that don’t fit, and don’t want my daughter to have to do that. They have a variety of darling leotards for gymnastics and dance, tights, leg warmers, etc. My 4 year old is not always a peach about shoe fitting, and they know just how to encourage her and get through it.

Helpful staff, great shoes, tights, leotards. I love this place! I can’t come here WITH my 5 year old because she would want EVERYTHING. This is the place to go if you have a child in a dance class or you need adult dance items.

Its been some years since I’ve been in this store but they haven’t changed. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I’m super excited that I get to share the same experience I had as a child with my own daughter!

This place is so awesome! Such a great set up and they offer plenty of products for every dance form.

Growing up in Portland, I’ve seen the location of The Leotard change quite a few times. What hasn’t changed about The Leotard is their commitment to making every customer satisfied.
When I went in last week, I needed some costume leotards for work at the Sky Club in downtown Portland. I was ecstatic to have a clerk help me who was also an aerial dancer and knew just the kind of thing I was looking for.
Definitely going back (especially since now I need a new nude colored leotard.)

The owners and staff here are both knowledgeable and friendly. They are great at fitting pointe shoes (the only place to go in town for this) and are quick to order in shoes for you if they are out of stock.
Great prices on multiple purchases too.

Good selection, knowledgeable staff. I purchased a unitard that turned out a size too small. I called in first to see if they had a larger size in stock and the staff member I spoke to did not even need to double check. The exchange was fast and easy and I got what I needed without having to order and wait. I found the same item priced better online, but for the convenience of the local business and friendly & helpful staff, it is definitely worth it.
I’ll be coming back next time the need arises and definitely recommend anyone to stopp by if you need dance wear or costuming pieces.
