Got the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Panak Paneer. Also 2 prices of Naan. It was tasty and a very good deal. The Chicken Tikka Masala melted I your mouth. Very tender and delicious sauce. First time getting Panak Paneer. It was good as well. Probably will try it again some time.

This Indian foodcart gives you a full-sized meal for very cheap. That said, it’s mediocre at best. Open only for lunch, Tandoor’s Saffron Indian Kitchen has a small menu and encourages you to get the combo meal. I understand why – it’s a better deal and makes it easy for them to serve you quickly. They prepare a few vegetarian sides at a time, plus one meat dish, naan, and rice. Combine meat, two veg, rice, and naan to get a combo meal for $ 6. I had chicken tikka masala(the only meat dish they had when I went), served with palak paneer, chickpeas, and basmati rice. The chicken wasn’t bad, but bland, and rather small. The sauce was thin and runny, not at all the kind of good comfort food that a well-prepared chicken tikka masala can be. The palak paneer was a mixed bag. The spinach wasn’t very impressive, but the farmer’s cheese inside it was surprisingly good. The chickpeas were OK, but again, lacking in the spice department and not very hearty. I found the rice good for mopping up the sauces, a purpose it was well-suited to. The naan, meanwhile, was nigh inedible – like pressed, soggy cardboard with a little char on the outside. If you’re really on a budget, the way I was when I went there, Saffron Indian Kitchen will give you a passable meal for little money. That said, I wouldn’t go here unless I were extremely strapped for cash, wanting a large meal, feeling slightly health conscious(or trying to avoid meat altogether), and confined in my choices to this particular foodcart. Its neighbors are definitely superior.
