I spent about two hours here this evening reading a book and charging my phone. Eventually I need to pee. Now, there is a large homeless population in this area and the restrooms require a code to use them that is printed on your receipt. I never got a receipt from the barista but I knew the code bc I had been in earlier in the day. I’m waiting on the restroom when a homeless man walks up next to me to wait in line and we start chatting. A Starbucks employee comes out of one of the restrooms and as I go in he tells me I need a receipt to go in. He was beyond rude and clearly assumed since I was talking to this man next to me that we were together. I’m not homeless, and I was a paying customer but regardless, even if I was homeless, there is no excuse for his rude behavior. I will never return to this location unless it’s to speak to the manager about their policies.

This Starbucks is a big disappointment. There were bugs and flies in the pastry case. Very disgusting. We also ordered a frappucino and the consistency was nowhere near a frappucino. It was very liquidy, not thick at all. Money down the drain.

I am switch coffee places to this location and the people seem nice enough. The reason I am rating this location a 2 is because the pastry case had a ton of bugs in it. When I pointed it out the guys said I know… We get them from the back… I am pretty sure I have seen in the past them taking from the case… On the upside I enjoy there coffee…

I don’t normally rant. I am quite an easy going person and never go looking for conflict but whenever I witness someone being rude to someone else, especially when they can’t defend themselves it really irritates me. To make it short, just arrived in Portland after a while of not being here. Decided to stop by a Starbucks to use the restroom and get some coffee. A long line to order, which is perfectly fine, and I decided to ask for their code use restroom. Denied on the spot and told it is on the receipt. They treated me as if I was going shoot up and destroy their restroom. Fine. I’m in line. A few people ahead of me is a homeless woman with her dog. Side note: Portland is super cold right now. She asks for hot water. She has about $ 1.80 or so. That’s all she wanted. Hot water. The cashier lady said no. Not a simple no. But very rude and disrespectful. When the woman insisted with«please». The cashier got another person to «help» shoo her off. As I saw this I jumped out of line and told this cashier that I would pay for hot water. Apparently this is not possible. Fine. So I ask for Tea without the tea packet. The whole line of people just stared at these employees. In the end, I met a woman by the name of Amy who was just cold and wanted hot water. She was very grateful and pleasant. I treated her to coffee. I guess my point to this is that we should be considerate and kind to one another. It’s amazing what it does to the soul. We all have our hard times in life. So try and help when you can. Whew. Done. Happy Monday everyone! Do something kind today! #starbucks #bekind

It’s Starbucks so you’d think there’s not much to say BUT… It is a large Starbucks and even though it is large and hard to keep track of all the entrances I was greeted upon entry. The drink was fine… it’s the same everywhere you go but today I drank it in the store and noticed a few things. They greet everybody coming in and the staff was very friendly. The manager was present and laughing with her staff. One customer was making some ridiculous requests with a food item she ordered-the barista went out of his way to accommodate her requests. There’s a lot of Starbucks n the area but I would go out of my way to come here over a different location

Everything was good up until a Barista decided once my little food baggie fell on the floor to just throw it away and not make a new one which consequently made me miss my bus and make me late for work, and I gave myself 20 minutes beforehand til my bus came. She didn’t even apologize.

I have been traveling for business all across the US and Canada. Starbucks is where I meet clients and business associates. Sometimes a place to just relax. I could not recall any bad experience until I went to Portland, Oregon(4th and Morrison). One particular staff is just plain mean and not as helpful as the others(poor customer service). I POLITELYASK for an ice water WHENEVERSHEGOT A CHANCE. And she just plainly told me to go to the cashier and ask it there. This is the first time I had this experience in a Starbucks. Normally I get it asap if they are not busy and sometimes if they are I understand the wait. But plainly let me fall in line and SHEDIDGIVEITANYWAYAFTERSHEREALIZEDWHATSHEHADTOLDMEANDHANDEDITTOME. I would rather wait in line if that is a policy of this particular starbucks but for her to have the ability anyways to do it when she can or when she feels like is not what I expect. Is there a double standard here or what? Her name if I am not mistaken is Jess.

Let’s start out with the fact that the food case is filled with flys and not fresh. After I ordered my drink went to sit down to wait for it and wanted a cup of water the lady told me to go all the way back to the line. After all of that she gave me attitude when I said the drink was wrong. Worst service at a Starbucks I ever experienced.

Unfriendly service burnt coffee. I counted 5 flies in the pastry display case. Ordered coffee for my wife and I and then went to wait at the other end. While we waited we asked for a cup of water and the ‘barista’ said we had to go back in line to ask for water. Is this a joke? Not coming back here for sure and I’ll be sure to tell others not to visit this location.

Not really bad, but seating is very scarce for the space. Asked for a grande cup of ice with my other drinks, got a grande cup of ice water. So many workers – don’t know how(or why) they made the mistake. Your average Starbucks location, I guess.

Slow and saddest Starbucks I have ever been too. Employees kept to themselves and didn’t speak to any customers. Will not be going again.

I am a pretty positive person, that being said… when I give one star reviews you might want to consider going elsewhere. I’d like to highlight the positive aspects of this Starbucks first: the employees are happy to give you the bathroom code and the location is great(near the MAX lines). To sum up the things this SB can work on… well, to be honest I hope they take the time to work on everything. Especially, cleanliness of the table tops and display case, and you guessed it, customer service. The incident that triggered this review?: Had to jump on a Blue train to work around 10am on a Thursday morning, I was feeling sick, tired/stressed, but I still entered this SB with a smile and positive attitude(remember, I am generally a positive person). Long story short, another customer cut in front of me out of the blue… instead of regulating the line, the cashier(who I assume is the GM of the SB in this area, I’ve seen her at other locations before) apologized and kept apologizing to the lady who cut in front of me b/c me standing up for myself inconvenienced her. All I ask is that the owner of this SB realizes that there is a really big issue with the attitudes of the employees, especially the general manager lady.

Ugh the service here is terrible. The baristas(Matt in particular) are surly, rude, and act like divas basically. It’s not what they say, it’s how they say it. They will cop attitude with any customer over any request/question/issue/remark. Basically just don’t breathe near them or you’ll be on the receiving end of their major bitch-face. Someone please tell Matt that this is not Manhattan and he doesn’t work at Prada lol. I don’t need a huge side of bitchy queeny diva attitude when getting my morning coffee. Never again.

I come to this location almost everyday simply for the reason it is right next to my work. The majority of the staff is horrible. They are rude and never smile. I don’t know how these people can even pass an interview with such negative personalities. It’s unfortunate.

This review is for today’s visit and what a 180 from my last review! I couldn’t make out the barista’s name from her badge, but it started with an S and she had long black hair. She was super pleasant and made me not dislike this location so much. I had gone in to redeem a lucky dozen drink and after hearing they couldn’t make the cake batter frappuccino from their secret menu(no almond syrup), they didn’t just brush me off but offered to work around what they didn’t have. They still had chesnut praline flavoring from the holiday season and thought that would be a good substitute. Since it was a free drink, I thought I’d give it a go. It was just alright but I appreciate the barista’s efforts! This location has some hope.

One of my favorite Starbucks. If you don’t mind the busy atmosphere and you like People watching this is the place for you. The baristas are always nice, and always take great care of me. I’ve been here at least 50 times, and approximately 3x a week!

«Coffee Watching» This corner Starbucks in downtown Portland offers lots of windows to people watch, a few circular tables for some chat or computer work and a comfy couch or two for some relaxing reading or tête-à-tête, while wonderfully observing the motley crew of visitors and downtown locals stream in and out. It’s very Portland in a Starbucks environment.

This is easily one of the nicest Starbucks I have been to. They offer many unique pour overs in addition to the regular offerings. It is beautiful inside. The location is convenient and central. My iced tea was made quickly and as ordered.

I already had my caffeine fix but I needed something to eat. There were four people in front of me at 8:30 in the morning. Not to bad right? But it took forever to just get to the cashier to pay for my protein box. I couldn’t image how long it would take to get an actual coffee drink. I do like that there is a ton of seating and some big chairs. Some of the tables are really close together so you have to be comfortable being close to strangers. I like the big windows and the prime location. It isn’t my favorite location, but Starbucks runs through my veins, so I will be back.

Standard fair Starbucks — but hey, it’s my Starbucks. It’s the one I end up at the most. I like this location and I love the window seats. It’s one of those Starbucks that is in all seriousness across the street from another Starbucks, and I literally mean you can stare into that other Starbucks as you drink your morning mocha. The staff is friendly, the lunchable-for-adults-style meals are fresh and easy to eat. One time I had to go to the bathroom desperately while I was at this Starbucks. I swear there was a belligerent man screaming in the restroom, disturbing the shit out of the bathroom queue. Finally a beleaguered barista came by and asked us what was going on *in there*. We all lowered our heads. The man was kicked out and stared mournfully while the rest of us got our coffees, went to the bathroom, and left for work. One other bonus thing I love about Starbucks: the free app-of-the-day and now ibook of the day. I scored some great wordgame apps there recently!
