Friendly, clean, Great Coffee! Throughly enjoyed the atmosphere and people watching. We got a mocha and drip

I am a big fan of Ristretto Roasters but Barista gets a 5 star rating from me for Today’s offering of the cold brew shrub. I would post a picture if I could figure it out. Prepared with balsamic«fortified» cold brew, fig, fennel, spices(maybe some bitters) a bit of maple sweetener or cane sugar and sparkling water. Go try it!

Every time I visit PDX, I try a new coffee shop. I ordered a Latte and it was just ok. Seemed a little weak for my taste. I also felt that the ambiance was a little snobby. Coming from LA I guess my expectations for PDX hospitality are different. I also didn’t know that they use Coava coffee beans. Having been there the day before I was disappointed that Barista didn’t have their own beans.

LOVE. My husband and I are huge fans of Stumptown and thought we would try some other Portland coffee. By far the smoothest coffee I have ever had. Its very busy, so you know its gotta be good!

Coffee was good, very smooth and I enjoyed it a lot. However, it’s very small with hardly any seats(maybe 4 or 5) so you feel like you can’t stay and enjoy the cute, modern ambiance of the place in the middle of Portland. I might come back here again if I was strolling through, but wouldn’t make a separate trip just to try again.

Cute little local shop in Portland. I had a semi sweet mocha, which was great. Very quiet ambience and kind of small, but nice to grab a quick drink and maybe a muffin and go about your day.

Great little spot downtown with gleaming white floors and an utterly fabulous coffee selection. Should also mention that their chai mix is pretty stellar — extra spicy and not too sweet(I’m particularly sensitive to the extra sweet ones). Baristas are nice and chatty too. Great vibe. If you’re looking for a quick stop, maybe even a standing espresso this is your spot. Not for those looking to hang, get comfy, and, ahem, use wifi. I will admit, I was looking for a place to get out of the rain and hunker down and had *dang it* moment when I realized they DONOTHAVEWIFI. I like that, just not when I’m specifically itching for some wifi.

A coffee shop that serves multiple espresso options each day! I am a fan. The coffee was well made and we didnt have a wait, but that may have been because it was the day after a public holiday.

At first I was getting irritated it was taking so long for a small mocha. But all I can say it’s WORTH the wait. The barista is an artist. So rich and yummy. And the crescent was so flaky and melt in your mouth

The staff at this location are Superb! From the very 1st time I stepped foot in there until now, which is almost every morning for my vanilla latte. They have ALL been incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable about the coffee they were serving, and tendre hearted during a rough morning. ;-) I work close by, so they are my go-to when visitors ask about local coffeehouses rather than go to the usual Starbucks! Thanks Y’all @ Barista on 3rd for brightening my mornings! :-)

I am apparently a Coffee Philistine. I am part of the great Java unwashed, the poor huddled masses yearning to not drink –entirely– bitter heated bean water. For at the Temple of Barista, the gateway to roasted happiness, your flavors are: *vanilla *chocolate *(aforementioned«no really this is GOOOOOD!» coffee flavor) Sorry. That’s just uppity. Your delicate espresso genius is fragile I know, and even THINKING about someone drinking your coffee and not forming a near-sexual relationship with the natural earthy top notes and mellow palate decaf is seizure-inducing anathema – but cut me a flipping break. I need coffee. I like a well roasted bean that is not burned(cough Howard Schultz coffee cough), but there is a reason«season or flavor to taste» is a thing in our lexicon. When I go to a Portland gourmet burger joint, they don’t recoil in hipster horror if I put ketchup, mayo, mustard, whatnot. Apparently the insidious Id of Portland food artisanry has not yet infected the meat patty divas of this town. I walked around the corner and got a big fat cup of salted caramel latte. I had to step down from the elevated climes of Barista’s sense of coffee self to get there, but the air is better down here. Maybe your joe is super duper, but I’ll never know because of your Baskin Robbins-31-flavors-minus-29 math. No offense.

Never a disappointment when we visit Barista. I’m not sure if the cookies here are made by the same gentleman as some of the other Barista locations but they seem to be. I always look forward to Jed’s cookies that are made with sunflower butter or pecans. I have a nut allergy to a few different ones but Jed makes some great cookies that are safe for me to eat and safe for my little Sophia to eat who also has a nut allergy worse than mine. Jed should market and package his sunflower seed cookies. He’d be a rich man. Stuart and I always look forward to the cookies on our visits to Barista. And saying hi to Jed at the location he works at. We also really enjoy the dark chocolate mochas. All of the employees are very nice and great baristas. I highly recommend any Barista location and try one of their mochas.

Eh. Normally when we come to the PNW we are all about Stumptown, but based on a recommendation from a friend we decided to try Barista. We simply had a cold brew and a latte, but unfortunately were not that impressed. The drinks were good, but the service left a lot to be desired. A smile goes a long way but we did not get that here. With all the coffee options available, I wouldn’t return.

During our six-day stay in Portland, we visited Barista three times… twice on SW3rd and once on SW13th… They had three different roaster options, two from Portland and one from Santa Cruz California. Service, environment, and coffee were all excellent… A few other coffee houses we visited in Portland were just a little bit too cool for school(snobby hipster) but the staff at Barista was genuinely friendly and engaging. We will definitely go back during our next trip to Portland!

Why hello there, vanilla latte. Barista is a proud parent of many locations of top-notch coffee shops that create housemade vanilla syrup to sweeten a number of beverages. The latte I ordered had a deliciously smooth, sexy foam with a bold yet classy aroma of espresso. The vanilla probably tried to make an entrance too much, honestly – but if it had been dialed down a bit the drink would have been absolutely wonderful. The minimalist, sleek décor is swanky as well with plenty of light streaming in from the tall, tall windows. Chill vibes all around.

Yummm! I’m so thankful my boyfriend found this location after the RnR half marathon. A bunch of other runners were in this tiny shop with us. Located in the historic Hamilton Building, we quickly noticed the penny round tile and marble counters. Gorgeous small space. I hadn’t had my morning latte and had told my boyfriend I really wanted to make it to Barista when we were in Portland and that we did. Walked right here from the finish line. Latte perfection! Great service! If you’re reading this review, you probably already know not to ever waste your time on something as sad as a Starbucks. My favorite latte in PDX, pretty positive they were pulling Coava beans which we of course visited Day 1 and purchased.

This was my favorite coffee place when visiting Portland out of the six I went to! Open a little later than other coffee shops, which allowed me and my boyfriend to get our caffeine fix to wake us up in the afternoon. Located on 23rd with lots of windows and a good amount of seating on the inside. Our server was fantastic, engaged with us in conversation and even welcomed us to town(So we DO look like tourists!) We were able to get seats easily at a communal table, although no one shared with us. My latte was perfect and my boyfriend enjoyed his americano. Such a relaxing environment to enjoy a cup of coffee on a drizzly day — perfect location for us to rest our feet before exploring more! Would definitely recommend!

I love Barista but I hadn’t been to this location yet. We stopped by a bit too late on a Sunday and they had closed about 20 mins before. But saw us looking all sad at the window, invited us inside and offered us the coffee that was still there and likely going to be thrown out anyway they said. They even broke out the soy milk for my wife. The worst part was that we had zero cash so now we really owe these guys one, so damn nice and the coffee is excellent. Yay Barista! Update, went by for a cap today and to leave a big tip for the kindness before. The cap was excellent as was the service, thanks guys!

When I arrived I thought this place might bee too fancy too even have mochas. As it happened, they had two choices of gourmet dark chocolate for thirty mochas. It was easily one of the best mochas I’ve had. Staff was also great, and the I liked the vibe of the place. It didn’t have much seating, so it probably hadn’t the best video coffee shop to work at.
