One word: ghetto. This is the most ghetto parking outfit in all Portland. I have parked with this firm for the past two years as a monthly customer in a lot on Multnomah St. in the Lloyd District. For two years I have ran the gauntlet of broken glass, homeless camps, prostitutes, used condoms and other unsavory happenings occurring in full sight within their lot. When I’ve complained, I’ve gotten the brush off and told «they’d look into it.’ A few of of my colleagues have had their cars broken into in this lot. Now they have closed off 2/​3rds of the lot in order to build the new convention center hotel. There was no forewarning about this. I simply showed up one morning and found most of the lot blocked off. Many of the people paying $ 85 per month for this lot can’t even get a space now because the lot is too small to accommodate everyone who has a pass. Star Park’s solution? Offer up parking in another lot more than 8 blocks away, or… GET THIS… if you decide to stay in the Multnomah lot, they are jacking the rate to $ 125 per month starting Feb 1. This is extortion pure and simple. Limit the supply, then jack the price. Ghetto.
