This is close to my daughters so we really enjoy going there. The atmosphere is great the drinks are really good service is excellent the food ok. Onion rings are really salty. Cheese sandwich on bread chunks and bacon was not so good. Steak bites great! Kind of have to find your thing. I recommend everyone try it and see if you can find your thing. I like the remodel and the view of the golf course from the bar seating.

Came here for the happy hours and the price was very good. Nice atmosphere for some beer and happy hour food. Their steak bites were really good and the calamari!

We came here for«Pre-Dinner» on our way to a Charity Event where food would also be served… It was just going to be «Appetizers+» at the event so we wanted a good meal prior to getting there. We arrived around 430pm on a Wednesday. We decided to sit in the bar and got the last empty table there… I’m not certain if the dining room was as busy as the bar. Everyone we encountered on staff was pleasant enough, but they did seem slightly distracted(slightly expected during such a busy time). Since we would be eating more a little later we decided to order two large meals… there were four of us so each couple chose a meal to share. When we ordered our dinners we expected them to remove the appetizer plates that had been dropped at the table with the menus. They didnt. The plates stayed right there throughout our meal. We stacked them on the corner of the table, but between those plates and the standard center table arrangement(sauces, salt and pepper, etc) there was NO room on the table, at all. It felt very crowded and I was constantly looking to make sure they werent getting bumped off the table. Annoying, for sure. If anyone had come by after the food was delivered to check on us I would have asked them to be removed, but that didnt happen here. We picked the 20oz Rib Eye(Bone-In), with the garlic whipped potatoes as the accompaniment, and then a side of the Cauliflower Gratin for the table, as well. The steak was cooked exactly as I asked, and had great flavor. It was tender, and juicy. BUT, as good as it was I didnt consider it a Prime Cut of beef, and we definitely paid prime pricing. The mashed was also pretty good, but I have to agree with a few other reviewers that it seemed like they had overwhipped it to create the illusion of more than there really was… and they had certainly used plenty of «filling», as the flavor wasnt so much potato as it was sour cream/milk/IDK. I have a sensitivity to milk and usually I can eat a couple of bites(as I did here) and be just fine, but within an hour I was very aware that I had accidentally consumed much more milk than I had thought would be in the dish. The cauliflower gratin was kind of awful, if im being honest. It was bland, there was no hint of cheese(gratin usually means slightly cheesy and creamy… thats what I was expecting). There was a barely-there sauce of some kind drizzled over it, but it was basically just chunks of cauliflower florets with a driz of cream. When our server came back to check on us, I told her it just wasnt good at all, and she apologized and said she was going to go check with the chef. She came back and just told me she would remove it from the bill for us. Perfect customer service on that particular issue. The other pair at our table ordered the Surf & Turf meal with steak medallions, prawns, and the same mashed that we had(with the same opinion on that as I already went through). They added on the«sauteed mushrooms» for their steak cuts and those came out looking like wilted and steamed spinach or kale… when we asked about it she told us that it was chanterelle mushrooms… which makes sense, but those are not the mushrooms that were expected upon ordering and she should have clarified the type of mushroom at the time she upsold the item. They probably wouldn’t have ordered them if they had known. Their steak was cooked as ordered, also, and was tender and juicy like mine. But again, prime price for a lesser cut. The prawns looked great, and according to those who eat them(I dont) they were wonderful. I was the only one in our group to indulge in a beverage while there. I ordered an Old Fashioned… not an easy cocktail to make and most bartenders dont really do it justice anymore, but I thought this might be the place to find a good one. It was perfect. Exactly as it should have been in every way… including the fact that it had a single large square of ice(size of a carafe size K-Cup, for reference), instead of the smaller cubes the bars all use now, which dont really work in this particular drink. All in all… it was my first time here and I think I could see exactly what other reviewers were talking about on many of the points that have been made. I always like to give anything a second try unless it was absolutely criminally horrible, so at some point I wil probably make my way back over here to check it out one more time. Maybe sit in the restaurant next time, and possibly not during Happy Hour, either. This comment has nothing to do with my service, but, there were many regulars wandering around which the staff greeted by name, and genuinely seemed to care about when they asked«How are you tonight?», which is pretty awesome. Most places have a few of these types of customers but almost all of the ones I noticed here were elderly(the 70+Club, or close to it). It was pleasing to see the respect and care the staff showed them. That gets an «A+».

Great dinner experience. Our server(Brian) was great — — fast yet did an awesome job! Got the turkey burger(yum) but was a little too spicy for my liking. The onion rings were perfectly crisp and flavorful. I will return, just for the onion rings!

This is the first time that I’ve been here and I can honestly say that the service is amazing. I am here for a Christmas dinner party and am the only vegetarian in the group.(I know I know… I’m at a seafood/steak restaurant) though that usually isn’t a problem our waitress Sarah went above and beyond just to make sure that I was catered to. She recommended the pasta and tomato bisque which weren’t on the menu and it was so delicious. I will definitely be back. If you want great service and great food then Ringside is definitely a stop you should make.

Great dinner! We were gonna go to Saylors but it was an hour and a half wait. We had eight people so very understandable. My dad mentioned Ringside. I gave them a call and they said no problem. Had a table set for us and we sat immediately. We had onion rings, calamari and deviled eggs to start. Everything had great flavors and really hit the spot. I personally had the ribeye it was fantastic. I tasted my sisters flat iron. Wow that was bomb. Our server was Xavier. He was attentive and very informational. He with the food made this a fantastic experience. We will be back!

I went there for the first time yesterday & the staff was really nice. The food was great! My boyfriend got a burger & his meat was juicy & just perfect. I’ll probably get it next time, but the French fries were nothing special. I got the skinned trout & it was delicious! I usually don’t like anything citrusy in my food, but they surely pulled off the orange vinaigrette in my dish. When I got my dish the presentation was amazing & everything was well done. They remodeled the restaurant very nicely. I’m definitely going back there again & recommending this place.

Love this place! Husband and I enjoy a good steak. We’ve tried most the leaders in steakhouse rankings in the city and love not only the food here, but also the simple charm it has. Sometimes steakhouses can feel too dressy, just too much, but this place is a neighborhood establishment with obvious dedicated patrons. The service we received at our most recent visit was off the charts. The procession of drinks, orders, apps, food etc is just such a well oiled machine. The food, as always, splendid. Onion rings are a must here, best we’ve ever had. We both always get the ribeye; medium rare for the hubbs and medium well for me.

Ringside has really made a name for themselves offering a top notch steakhouse rivalling Gauchos, a high end seafood specialty rivaling Davenport and Roe and this slightly more moderately priced grill offering a little of both. The building itself is a little boring. Very old design, feels renovated. Open, lots of glass and plenty of light making the golf course scenery a bit of the focal point. Trying so hard to have the lodge/steakhouse feel when I was told it was a former steakhouse. Ringside east, but it’s a little breezy and to me not posh enough for the price point now. I liked the copper hood. Service is excellent. I definitely felt like I was treated well. Like I’m a long time club member at a golf course with political sway. I hoped for more white table cloth experience considering I had to make reservations and paid $ 200 for dinner and drinks, this is half the experience of the Burnside location with a slight discount in price. The shining star here is the HH menu being 7 days a week 3 – 6 and 9 to close. 4 chef’s choice oysters for 6. Thought I’ve heard due to availability some people don’t get a variety, still fresh and well plated with a proper mignonette. Salt & pepper wings are nothing like the SD famous MSG kind. Meatballs are super rich with pork and veal mixed with beef. I wish they were larger and served with a ragu and crusty bread. Deviled eggs are good, but the smoked salmon or pork belly take it to the next level. Needs more heat though, maybe thai peppers. $ 4 french dip has a bomb au jus and fresh horseradish. Lunch has a more light weight menu than dinner with burgers and sandwiches. It was a little strange to see the flatbread of the day have a market value meaning it involved likely a seafood, seafood flat bread did not sound appetizing actually. Grilled cheese needed more refinement in the cheese mix and when using sourdough not so much char is needed on the grilling part. San Marzano tomato soup is thick and rich, excellent. Dinner is the real wallet buster. Only some of their steaks are prime? For real? If you fancy yourself a steakhouse or former steakhouse I expect prime and white tablecloths. Sorry. Superb twice baked potato. Was not a fan of the butter glaze on my dry aged new York. Excellent, very beefy flavor, as rare as I wanted it. I wanted more refined sides and found them blaze. Your best bet to skip lunch and come for HH and stay to dinner to try 1 item and keep the meal alive versus, dinner drinks and a reservation on an empty stomach. Decent drinks, full bar, but don’t ask for anything with more than 2 ingredients where both are not liquor and soda. It’s a mediocre restaurant that makes you wish you spent the extra dough and gone to the flagship steakhouse. This place will have you feeling as gloomy as the weather when you leave here.

We went here last night to celebrate a birthday. The wait staff was very nice and friendly! The food is why I am giving them 3 stars. I ordered the bison burger. It was very dry and looked undercooked! My boyfriend ordered the Glenndover double burger but was brought a bison burger. So the waiter took his food back to get the correct burger. It took about 10 minutes to get his food and it still wasn’t correct. However, everyone was close to done with their food so he did not complain. The Glenndover double burger is supposed to have carmelized onions, tomatoes and lettuce but he was brought a plain double cheeseburger. Also, his fries looked pale and undercooked compared to my crisp fries. They did bring out a dessert for the birthday girl that looked delicious!

I haven’t been to the Ringside in years and years, but the remodel made me curious, so I came in for lunch. I like the atmosphere, and they seated us in the lounge next to the fire pit, which was very pleasant. The prices are a bit steep, but I expected that. The food was very good — I had the combo, with a cup of Horseradish Cheddar soup(the soup du jour) and a half sandwich of the Rotisserie Chicken Club. Now, here I have to put in my quibbles with the menu. I read the menu as saying that the combo included soup, salad, and half a sandwich. When the food was delivered I asked the server about it, and she said the wording on the menu was confusing, but it was supposed to be any two items. Well, that would be fine, except that I came home and checked the menu online, and there was no such stipulation. Right under«Combos» It says«A Cup of Soup, ½ Sandwich, Mixed Green Salad»(I c/p’d that right from the menu page). That’s not confusing; that’s a completely different thing! My second quibble is that my sandwich came with avocado on it, which I would have asked them to leave off. I didn’t say anything about it, assuming that I just overlooked it in the list of ingredients. So, again I checked the menu online, and sure enough, there is no mention of the avocado. Like… what? How do you not tell someone what they’re getting? Are you assuming that everyone likes avocado? Because, ICK. So, two strikes just based on menu information alone. As for the food, I pulled the(ew, slimy!) avocado off and enjoyed the sandwich without it. It was seriously difficult to eat, it was so tall, and of course it proceeded to fall apart because it was so hard to get my hands and mouth around. No problem with the way it tasted, though! And the soup was very tasty. The horseradish was nicely in the background to the cheddar, and the peppers and onions diced into the soup were a nice touch(though I could have done without so many peppers, frankly). For dessert, my companion convinced me to try the Meyer Lemon Tart, and boy, am I glad I did. It no longer comes with the blueberries, which I think I would really have enjoyed, but the candied grapefruit that they’ve added was quite good, once I figured out that you’re supposed to eat bites of it WITH the tart, and not alone. The dish looks small, but seems to grow exponentially as you eat it(which I mean in the best possible way), because the flavor is so intense. It was truly wonderful! On the whole, I really enjoyed the meal, but I learned that the menu is not entirely trust-worthy. The service was excellent, though it was very quiet in the lounge on the day we were there, with maybe only half a dozen other patrons besides us, so I don’t know what it’s like when it’s busy. But, based on my experience, I recommend trying this restaurant. And if you like lemon at all, have the tart!

My wife and I went to RingSide Grill for dinner last night. I check these reviews and figured it was worth a shot. Our server was Xavier and he was AWESOME. Very knowledgeable about the menu items and easygoing. The perfect waiter – he didn’t bother us until he needed to and that was great! The dude pouring water was on top of it and I was thirsty. My wife ordered her favorite meal – filet minon. She ordered it with a twice baked potato. I chose the wedge salad and fish tacos. The wife said hers was delicious and she ate every bite. My meal was perfection. I’m going to be dreaming about that wedge salad until we have a chance to go back. So good. Fish tacos were excellent, as well.

Great management. I had a table dispute(was told it’s open seating on the patio only to take the last seat and then be asked to move by the hostess to accommodate another group). I’m sure there was a miscommunication but when I brought the problem to the managers attention he immediately made it right and found us a comparable table. Food is tasty and the atmosphere on the patio can’t be beat.

It has been over a year since I have been back to this location. Not sure how I feel about them adding«Grill» to the name but the remodel makes it look very nice. When I entered, the hostess was on the phone and didn’t even bother looking at me. I headed to the bar and my friend and I sat ourselves for happy hour. The waitress that greeted us and brought us water then left us for a few moments as she got our drinks. When she came back to take our order, we both decided on the salmon cake from the happy hour menu. The waitress said it would be a better deal if we ordered the regular order of salmone cakes as it would come with two for $ 3 more so we took her advice. When the food came it, the presentation looked great however the taste was awful! The salmon cakes were small and topped off with a fried quail egg(cute & yummy!) but the cake itself didn’t taste fresh, more like canned salmon and dry! It was a little challenging to finish but I was hungry. When the check came out, we felt the waitress rushing us and annoyed that our tab was not more. We didn’t let it bother us because we weren’t done with our drinks. Not sure if I will be back.

Looking great after the remodel! I liked ringside well enough before but now it’s even better. The staff as always is great and very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was in good time and very tasty. The beer list was better than I had expected for a place that focuses this much on food. I was very surprised to find a great beer menu of rotating taps, and they fill growlers! A great way to end a round of golf!

We used to love the happy hour menu and drinks in the bar. The remodel has brought nothing but higher prices, mediocre food and poor, inexperienced service. After a round of golf on a hot day it was a welcome place to have a good drink and tasty appetizers. All the reviews I have read since they reopened are right on and I dare say they may be in trouble with such an expensive remodel and less to show for it. My advice is ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’. They have been good for so many years and they tried too hard to reinvent themselves… they should have bowed out while they were ahead. Sorry, we won’t be back. PS Why replace beautiful swordfish on the walls of the bar with chalkboards? There are menus… which also don’t say what time the happy hour is or how much the happy hour drinks cost???

We came in here for the first time since the remodel. We have been regulars here for years. Lots of kinks in the system. Miscommunication between food runners. Dishes brought out multiple times in the evening in error meant for other tables. Time from start to finish on the night was almost unbearable. Took about 20 minutes to get our salads out. Mine tasted dry as if there were no dressing on it. The server Jaymen was nice. I just hope they right the ship, because a lot of people were used to the service and style before. It was more polished. It shouldn’t take 3+ hours for a meal. The new menu is not very impressive. I wish the entrée section had more options. Stand out from the crowd again Ringside… Keep the new look but go back to the old kitchen!

I read about the renovation and saw that they changed the menu to appeal more to the area. The HH looked pretty good so decided to try it with some friends. The place is really nice; it has a great patio with tables that have a little fire in the middle. I wanted to just get some HH stuff because it looked very cheap. I was convinced by the waiter to try their burger(13 $); she claimed the chef was really proud of it and based it off of In and Out. It’s really disappointed that Ringside grill had trouble nailing a 3 $ In and Out burger. Upon first holding the burger, I realized that I didn’t know which end to bite it from. It looked a bit try from all sides. The first bite was terrible. My mouth was filled with an untoasted soft but semi big bun, then my teeth dug into some caramelized onions that were pretty good. Once bit through the meat, the meat was very dry and over-cooked. The burger just left aa hint of mustard on my palate after I was done chewing. Besides being flavorless and dry, the burger didn’t make sense. It needs a bigger patty – one thick patty that is med to med rare would help or they need to use a higher fat to meat ratio. It had cheese but that didn’t help the case. 4 people had the burger and all said it was dry. So it’s not a fluke; they probably just make dry burgers, and the chef obviously doesn’t know what a good burger is. Or he may just not run the kitchen correctly – both are equally bad. I suggest that the chef go try some good burgers – le pigeon, trifecta tavern, yakuza, tasty n alder. He/she doesn’t need to copy these burgers, but he/she should take a lesson. I’ve had many good burgers and the places on my list of good burgers serve a good to excellent burger every time. On the bright side, my friends who had the 2.95 $ HH burger said it was good. I might come back and try that. But as for giving them another chance with their main double burger, I don’t think I am willing to throw away 13 $ again. And I’d love to take my wife here for a good steak dinner, but can they really cook a steak(38 $) if they can’t make a burger? I don’t think so. I convinced my friends to come and try this place, instead of going to Red Robin. That was a mistake – even the salad wasn’t good.

So sad I have to down-grade my original review, but I have to. I read all the terrible reviews on their relaunch, finally gave ‘em a try, and the reviewers were spot on! I mean spot on! About everything I read came true with my experience. I went in for Happy Hour with my wife, in total we got a Large order of Onion Rings(11.75 now!), a Caesar Salad, Steak Bites, Peppered Wings, and a CheeseBurger w/all the fixings. I asked for no pickle. Instead of getting the onion rings first, our scattered order began with my wife getting her salad. It came with no Caesar dressing. It was dry. A few minutes later our waitress came with a side of dressing«sorry the other waitress delivered you the dry salad, it was suppose to go to another table.» Then came the Wings and Steak Bites. Both were good. No complaints. Then my burger came, and she left. I had to wait for her to come back again because my burger was«fixing-less» it came with just a pickle. She said«sorry about that, I wrote no pickle, they must have read it only pickle.» The burger was small, but good and the chips with it were really good. I say, by the way, did you put in my order for onion rings, I intended for those to come out first, not after my order was already eaten… She looks around our table«Oh, you didn’t get them yet? Let me go check on them.» She comes back, «they will be on their way, sorry about that.» 8-minutes later our appetizer… or i guess desert at this point, onion rings came. They were pathetic. Not even salted, what chef forgets to salt the food? They were always perfect, this time they were terrible, you could only now taste the sweetness of the onion. I basically paid $ 12 for flavorless batter and an onion. For the next 20 minutes after the onion rings were dropped off our waitress disappeared. I had to get up and seek out another waiter to get a bill and get out of there. I told him our waitress disappeared and he would have to find her. Probably 3 – 5 minutes later she emerges from another part of the building and says«They moved me to another section, I thought you were covered by someone else.» Wonderful, thanks for telling me you were gone and introducing me to my ghost waitress! Even after all this terrible services and excuses I still felt like I had to tip, I left 10%, which is not that great of a tip, especially for me. Too bad she didn’t do better, I usually tip 20−25%. Food=3 stars(onion rings bland) Service=1 star Value=3 stars(onion rings over priced for quality, use to be good) In-and-out-time=1 star, very slow and scattered service.

Went to the newly remodeled Ringside last Friday. I was excited to see how it looked and what the menu was like. There were 8 of us there. This review is for the dining room because the bar was 45 minutes out just to be seated. In a nutshell, I was a little disappointed. The portions were a little small, the emphasis seemed to be on plating rather than the steak, and the menu had a couple weird items… schnitzel for example. Plus, no bread was served and the desert menu had omitted the bananas foster.
