I recently moved to Portland and was extremely nervous to find a new salon.
I’m so glad that I found Paramount! The transition from my old stylist to Samantha has been amazing — not a single complaint!
I see Samantha for both cut and color and it is always perfect!
She also told me about a smoothing treatment she had done on her hair and I decided to go for it. I have extremely curly hair that I spend hours every week styling so I was very tempted at the thought of a smoothing treatment that would last a few months. Marissa did the treatment and she was also wonderful. It was worth the price and recommend it to anyone looking to tame their curls!
The space is beautiful and everyone is always extremely accommodating with beverages and magazines. I love how they always ask «do you want fashion, gossip, or home?» and then bring you the most recent issues of all of your favorites!
Definitely visit Samantha and the team at Paramount!

I am so thrilled to have found Paramount Salon, and specifically Komo!
The space is beautiful and the staff are super friendly. They use great hair products, and make sure you are comfortable with beverages and magazines during your stay.
Before coming into the salon I had read about the ongoing education/​training they do, and it was evident from my first cut and color. First, Komo gave a great consultation explaining what was going on with my previous cut (and its horrific grow out) and what he would do to fix it. As a blonde he also road mapped the next few months from staying light through the summer and mixing in some warmer tones come fall. Sign me up!
Finally, throughout the cut he was actually training an assistant. Listening to him explain what he was doing and why was fascinating, and I left completely confident in his skills. Overall I’d highly recommend this salon!

Let me start of by saying that my first (and only) visit to the salon was wonderful. Kristi was my stylist and she was incredible. She gave me stunning, subtle, and natural looking highlights. It’s no wonder that I wanted to go back later to get a touch up. I’ve tried several times to book an appointment, however, since my first visit I have ever only gotten a voicemail. I know salons get busy and they can’t always answer the phone, but I think a salon with stylist as great as Kristi should invest in a receptionist. I’ve left messages, only to have them returned days later, letting me know that my requested times were not available. Understandable, but here’s the thing: the gal returning my calls never ONCE suggested alternate times or dates. After a few attempts, I went to another salon, which also did a wonderful job. I’ve wanted to go back to Paramount and I’m about due for another round of highlights. This time I called, giving myself a little leeway to book an appointment a little farther out, and once again I was greeted by voicemail. Once again I left a message, but unfortunately, over a week has gone by and I have not received a call back. I’m not sure what’s going on over there. Maybe they don’t have a solid receptionist, for all I know they could be closed; maybe they are careless with their customers, but I am losing faith in the business. They do not seem to be very professional. If you manage to get an appointment, enjoy! I’ll be at the salon down the street.

Samantha at Paramount Salon will make you feel like you are the most beautiful person in the city when you leave. I cannot tell you how much pain and suffering I have been through with dry, curly, grey hair and she has worked miracles so that I now have less styling time and better outcome! Sure, having a quality salon can be expensive but they will work with you, give you plenty of tips to help you out and it is WORTH EVERY PENNY.

This is an amazing salon. They use techniques I’ve never seen elsewhere to create looks for clients that are jaw dropping. The stylists are a blast to be around, the facility is really beautiful, and parking is readily available across the street. They serve both men and women clients and all seem to walk out with their self esteem boosted. What a place.

Kristi is my stylist and she is fabulous. I trust her opinion for both color and cut and she never steers me wrong. When I started going to her almost a year ago, I had barely touched my normal brown locks with any kind of dye. For a change and for fun, we decided put in some lighter tones and I’ve been hooked ever since. Recently we decided to balayage my hair and I could not be happier! It’s a wonderful natural looking fade from dark to light.
In regards to my color specifically, I routinely get compliments daily with people asking me if it’s natural and/​or who does my hair (this pertains to whatever color my hair happens to be at the time, not just the most recent balayage look).
As far as cuts go, Kristi knows how to work with what you like; she listens to what you need but also makes wonderful suggestions.
She also does incredible cuts on men!
I am so glad I found her as she’s a true gem and makes me feel spectacular every time I leave the salon. Love her!

The salon is unique and contemporary with inspiring ambiance! The customer service is flawless! But it is the talent and skill that keeps me coming back. Samantha is a world class stylist. She consistently gives me more than I expect. After 5 years I know I can count on her to keep my style fresh, keep my hair healthy… and to give me a great experience on every appointment.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Samantha. She is amazing and worth every penny! She really spends time with you and understands what you want. I love her new location. It’s so relaxing and personal.

I love this new salon since my stylist Komo Bains moved there from his previous establishment. I love the simple and clean décor of this place. It’s in a really cool space in NW that was once a Paramount movie studio! I appreciated the Zen qulaity of the space because not only isn’t simple and clean, but you don’t hear the countless hair dryers and people clamouring in the background. Komo is also fabulous and has been lopping of my locks for a few years now. I can never seem to style my hair like he does, but then again he is the professional!
