Came back and got a second pair of glasses a year later. My dad also got some killer wooden wayfarer Ray Bans. And the owner’s name is not Jill, it’s Debbie. :P She was, as usual, very helpful, professional and attentive to our needs. Highly recommend.

I went back for my semi-​annual visit and can’t believe how smooth and quickly the process was yesterday. As the last time, I found new frames that were beautiful and fit my needs. If you are frustrated with the large chains out there, then you’ll love the boutique charm of personal service and attention. Can’t say enough great things about my experience here!

Absolutely FABULOUS customer service and selection! Debbie was amazing and helped me find TWO pairs of glasses that fit my face shape and look absolutely adorable! The prices are extremely affordable, and the customer service is absolutely outstanding! I will be sending all of my friends and family to Optical Brokers to find their amazing specs too!

Optical Brokers was the 4^th optical store I looked at for glasses. I’m very picky and they have a great selection which included the perfect pair for me. The owner, Debbie, is very customer friendly and is the only optical store in years who would bill my insurance. Her charge for the same high end lenses was also $ 140 less than another store I had priced. Her frames are all very reasonably priced, less than a couple of mall type optical stores, and much more stylish. My daughter has discovered she needs glasses and we will definitely bring our business back to Optical Brokers.

Excellent service — friendly, personal attention to detail. I’ve bought several frames and lenses throughout the years and always feel that I am getting value for my money, and that I am valued as a client. I moved out of the neighborhood last year, but I still went back to Debbie for my new glasses. It’s a pleasure having a true boutique experience in this culture of the big box store.

I got tired of wearing the same frames everyday since my Rx changed 6 months ago. When I had that exam (at another optical shop) the frames and lens were SO expensive (even with insurance) that I only got the one pair. I read reviews on Unilocal and decided to go visit Debbie at Optical Brokers. GREAT decision!
Debbie was so authentic and helpful. I had originally taken in 2 old frames that I still liked to just get the new Rx put in them but her frame selection was so fun and well priced that for not too much more $ I got 2 brand new pairs! There was even a little discount for buying 2 pairs w/​frames. I can’t wait to pick them up and start wearing them.
I could go on and on but it is enough just to say that if you are in the market for new glasses you really need to start here at Optical Brokers. The shop is not very big but the selection is pretty comprehensive and I had a good time trying on a variety of frames and talking with Debbie. All of these 5 star reviews are spot on.

What a great find! I found this place on Unilocal (thanks to all the previous reviewers!) and decided to check it out after I lost my favorite, very expensive, prescription glasses a few weeks ago (don’t ever put your glasses case on top of your car — you will forget all about it and drive away). I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on replacements, so I decided to check this place out because it seemed that they had reasonable prices. Debbie was super helpful and friendly and had a great selection of affordable frames. I found a pair I loved within minutes, and she had them ready at the shop within a few days. I will definitely be going back next time I need glasses.

Debbie wants you become a lifelong customer and works to make sure it happens. No sales pitches, no corporate double talk, just someone who’ll listen to you and give you honest answers. She’s fixed glasses that another dispensery couldn’t, made sure an insurer’s paperwork was correct, and always has a smile for you. If you need glasses or contacts, go spend a few minutes at Optical Brokers and meet Debbie, you won’t regret it!

When I lived in NW PDX, I bought all my glasses from Debbie, then I moved to North PDX. Well, I thought I would use the services of a shop that was in my neighborhood. What a freaking mistake that was, I spent nearly $ 300 on a pair of reading glasses, including the exam. The first time the frame broke, they sent them out for repair under warranty and then charged me $ 20 for shipping. The next time they broke, all they said they could do was sell me a new pair of frames. why the hell would I want a new pair of crappy frames. To make a short story longer, I dropped into Optical Brokers to see Debbie. Within 5 minutes she found a nice pair of frames that would fit my lens, two days later, I have my glasses. Now that’s customer service. I don’t care how far I live from NW, I’ll always go back to Debbie’s shop. Even if you get your eyes tested somewhere else, go here for your frames. Trust me, the customer service doesn’t get any better.

Affordable, stylish eye care at long last! The owner, Debbie, is really personable and eager to help. You will not get Ray Bans this inexpensive or for this quality service anywhere else. Eye exams are very affordable, too! –Plus, it’s in a great neighborhood.

I bought a pair of glasses at Costco but didn’t really end of liking the dark frames on me, so I asked Costco if they could coat them for sunglasses. They said no.
So I took them to Optical Brokers. Debbie, the owner, said the anti-​reflective coating would need to come off to put the sunglass coating on. However, when Debbie removed the coating, it apparently ruined the lenses. She asked me to send my prescription to her, so she could make new lenses for me — free! She said she was surprised that the Costco lenses were so cheaply made that they couldn’t be recoated. I have had other glasses recoated here with no problem!
I ended up buying a new progressive lens pair from Optical Brokers to replace the ones I didn’t like from Costco & got a new pair of sunglasses for free! With both pairs of glasses, my eyes adjusted right away — no problems. This hasn’t been my experience with Costco glasses — my eyes needed a lot of time to adjust to their lenses and even then, there were areas where I just couldn’t see the way I do with the clear lenses from Optical Brokers!

I’m rarely moved to write any sort of review, negative or positive. However, the service at Optical Brokers just deserves recognition.
It’s a small, local, store and I knew that their prices wouldn’t be able to compete with my usual internet sites (the prices are still pretty great, FYI). However, those internet sites require recent prescriptions backed up by an actual doctor. I haven’t had any sort of eye exam in 2 years, but my prescription hasn’t changed since I first got glasses in the 4^th grade. Paying for the eye exam out of pocket ($ 60 for the fitting and $ 120 for the exam itself at one of the offices that I called!), then attempting to save money by purchasing off of one of my usual sites just didn’t make any sense. Plus, I’ve had to make considerable changes to my budget after a recent career change (salaried office employee in NYC to hourly cook in PDX). I asked Deb whether they had any sort of student pricing or anything, and while they don’t, she was able to procure a box of samples for me to take home in addition to the 1 box that I actually purchased in order to take the sting off (her words, not mine).
I can’t thank them enough for this. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Extra notes: I emailed to order, since being a smaller store, they won’t have all brands and their styles on hand. My order was ready for pick-​up the next day! They accept credit cards, but bring cash, there’s a tiny bit of a discount if you do.

I have been coveting a pair of Prodesign glasses for 2 years. What kept me from buying them is the fact that everyone else in town and online wants to charge me the equivalent of a month’s rent for a pair, even without lenses!
Not Optical Brokers. They were nice enough to order the lenses in two colors so I could try them on and decide. They were helpful and patient with my self deprecation while looking in the mirror switching back & forth. In the end I got the perfect glasses I had been dreaming about for much less than the other quoted prices. Plus they had them done in a reasonable amount of time with better service than I have received from their more high end competitors in town.

Optical Brokers was a god-​send. I lost one of my lenses of my glasses on an airplane. Sweet, because that totally makes my flying experience even better. Luckily the lens that fell out was the glass one (benefits of being blind in only one eye). Optical Brokers however, was understanding and nice when I walked in. They also had my glasses back to me the next day. Spectacular! Their frames were cool and well priced.
