its aight. some of the stuff was real good. the bread was good, the fried vegetable stuff was good, i liked the green sauce and the curry. some of the other food tasted like straight butter, that wasn’t so good. im glad theres many vegetarian options.

Always a solid lunch spot, they even have the buffet set up for lunch on Sundays. I appreciate their prompt service, too. The food is great, the décor is cozy and the staff is friendly!

Super low quality food with almost zero flavor or bad flavor. Some of the dishes and silverware were dirty. It just didn’t feel like a clean place.

Garbage watery curry. Soggy fried pakoras. Took ten minutes to take my money for my take out order because the employee didn’t understand how to input my order correctly. I cannot understand how this place has so many locations. Low quality food.

My friend and I went here for lunch because the Sushi place next door was way to busy and we both love Indian food so we thought we would give it a try. I don’t understand how this place is still in business let alone has more than 1 location. She tried everything on the buffet and the only thing edible was the papadum. Everything was either very dry or very greasy. I ordered the Mutter Paneer mild(one of my favorite Indian dishes). When it came to the table just the smell of it gave me heartburn. I tried a few bites and couldn’t stand the overbearing tomato taste. I tried to send it back telling them that it was not good but they made me pay the $ 10 for it anyway… Not only not happy with the food, but the customer service was terrible… Telling all my friends NEVER to eat here!

Went here for lunch and really enjoyed everything. The green curry dish was outstanding! It’s a buffet and it all looked and tasted fresh and hot. That’s a must for me for buffets… hot. Lots of veg and chicken options. Rice and soups. I didn’t have desert but they have soft serve help yourself ice cream it looked really yummy. Nothing was too spicy but it was flavored with lots of spices and beautifully colored because of the herbs and spice. The tea was nice. Basic black chai with milk. The people working there were all so very nice and attentive. I will go back.

The food is very fresh for a buffet. In fact, I’d say the food is competitive to non-buffet Indian food of a similar price. They also have so many vegetarian options, you definitely won’t feel like the vegetarian options are an afterthought. To be honest, I don’t know much about Indian food. I don’t know the names of many dishes. However, I’ve probably eaten everything they regularly offer, and have enjoyed all of it very much. The best way to go is get a big plate of rice, and cover it in different stuff. Then grab some naan to dip it in, you can’t go wrong. The staff is really friendly and seem to care about if you enjoy the food. They really seem like they care about everyone enjoying themselves. The atmosphere is very bare and simplistic. This is the best reason I can think of to visit the NE Broadway/Lloyd Center area!

Not exactly bad but not quite good. They offer many choices for the buffet that aren’t actually ON the Buffett. Probably the worst samosas I have ever had but overall just ok. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the price isn’t bad.

Love this place. I come to Portland a few times a month on business, and I will come across town just to eat here. The food is far better than any other Indian buffet I’ve been to, and there are a surprising variety of dishes(vegan, meat, gluten free), and they are all clearly marked as to which. It’s a family run establishment, and they really care about their diners — good people. The restaurant is clean, well decorated, and they like families, kids & all. For the value, very hard to beat. If I lived closer, I’d eat here all the time… Update: Visited Namaste again while in town, and once again had a great experience. Consistently friendly and helpful staff, and great food. This time around they even brought me some fresh Samosas and Spinach pakora — delicious! I was also pleased to see how the staff would describe and recommend dishes to guests who were new to Indian cuisine. I’ll be back next time I’m in town.

Prices are good, and I’m happy to say the meat and vegetarian options are actually on separate sides of the buffet(so you carnivores can go over«there»). I didn’t want to like this place, but it was close, and I was pleasantly surprised. First, it is clean — unlike it’s cousin on NE Sandy. Second, I found service(even during takeout) to be really good, attentive, and welcoming. if your order takeout, they will bake your naan FRESH(and it will be scalding hot, so beware). Next, there were far more vegetarian items than I expected, and each were tasty. Not like«the best ever», but when you get a craving for Indian, this will work just fine. I went for lunch, haven’t tried dinner.

One of the worst tasting Indian restaurants in the US. We ordered appetizers a la carte as we weren’t hungry for the full buffet at 5pm. We ordered lamb sheesh kabaab, chicken tikka and lamb samosa. The samosas were re-fried and dipping oil. Both chicken tikka and lamb sheesh kabaab were pan fried with onions and tamato gravy and tasted exactly the same. Sheesh kabaab was actually seekh kabaab pieces pan fried with 5 lbs onions and tamato pury. Yuck!(See pic).

Bad food, bad staff, and half the menu is not available… Read on. The absolutely worst Indian food I have ever had… we ordered chicken Tikka… The qty was humongous… But filled with onions… chicken pieces were so big that they were uncooked inside and the marinating was non existent. We also ordered a shish kebab… What a way to butcher a dish. They took frozen seekh kebabs and fried them with a tonne of onions. No taste… Also ordered lamb samosa which turned out to be just old samosas refried. Lassi was ok. Bad bad place. Avoid at all costs.

After more than a dozen visits, I’m adding a star because the buffet has only gotten more varied in flavor, with more vegan options both in terms of entrée items as well as salad bar items. Today’s new finds included a spicy zucchini & potato dish as well as a cold chickpea salad. The food improvements along with the rewards program, which today allowed my friend & I to dine for $ 15, prompt me to say I’m certainly a fan.

We went there on Memorial Day and they were open. It wasn’t very busy when we got there but it picked up(eclectic crowd). It’s clean, ornate, and comfortable inside. It’s buffet style so there’s a bar with different kinds of dishes, and a smaller bar for sauces and dessert. It’s $ 10 per person, and worth it if you can push your limits, or loosen the belt. Per my usual, I got the chicken makhni — yum. I think I liked it too much because I obviously ate past my limit. I would go again.

Since i work right down the street this place makes a great quick dinner spot. I took a girlfriend a few days ago and she swears this is the best Indian food in Portland. I absolutely loved their Chicken Mikhani and the tikka masala. I forgot the name of the dessert balls but these were so unique, they tasted of roasted coconut and pumpkin. AMAZING! I will return on a weekly basis if i can.

Buffets. plague, disease, germs. I can’t help that that’s the first thing I think of after the word buffet. I went in against my better judgment anyway. I realized that was why I have not had Indian food in years. That’s why I went in really. And 13.00 for whatever I want and how many times I want it. I got my plate and went through the line, all the time watching others. One guy took most of all the shrimp. Oh ya, the other reason I stopped going to buffets. Gluttony. Then I saw someone grab the tongs, select their item and then drop the tongs on top of the food. Ah. he left his germs on the food. And so it begins for me. The food itself was never just sitting there overcooking under the lights. There was always someone changing it out for new items. There was a lot to choose from as well. The people working there were pleasant. The ambience reminded me again of why I don’t like buffets. The food to me all tasted the same even though the items were different. Maybe it’s just me though. I could not tell you what I even ate. I just knew it was vegetarian except for the shrimp. I went through twice though just to make sure I did not miss anything and was able to grab more of that shrimp. I think I’m good for another 10 years now.

So, I love me a good Indian buffet… and Namaste is probably the best one I’ve been to. You know how at these buffets there’s typically only 1 or 2 chunks of chicken left in a large, saucy pan of chicken tikka masala? And how the only other food options are palak paneer, tandoori chicken and some iceburg salad fixings? NOTHERE, SON. Namaste has its buffet game on fleek. There are over half a dozen options for meat eaters(goat curry, lamb meatballs, several chicken dishes) and just as much for the vegan and vegetarian folk. There’s a section just for sides, so you can load up on samosas and fried pakoras. They also have a salad and chutney bar as well as several dessert options, like their house made mango ice cream(which is phenomenal). All this can be yours for $ 10 during the day and $ 13 in the evenings. Most Indian restaurants don’t even offer a buffet for dinner, but not Namaste. The service was very kind and sweet. It’s kind of a family place, so be prepared for some toddlers and babies making noise. I want to go back here all day, every day. You won’t find a better Indian buffet in Portland.
