We ordered the clam chowder and fried clams. Service was super friendly and fast! Perfect for a crazy pair whose trying to catch their flight, 10 minutes til boarding! The clam chowder is thick and would have been great. Except it was lacking saltiness and seafood flavor. It tasted a lot like canned Progresso. The fried clams were crispy on the outside and chewy in the middle. Perfectly fried but also lacking salt. Pretty interesting considering a lot of what we ate here this weekend has been salty!

Incredibly friendly breakfast staff! However, my biscuits and chowder(instead of gravy) were underwhelming. Not the great combination I was looking for. I found the chowder a little bland. Nice and thick, but the flavor wasn’t there.

All apologies. When I came in here, I probably still wasn’t done digesting the excellent meal I’d had at Pacific Northwest Best Fish Co. So, I’m going to try to avoid the equivalent of comparing The Ringside to McD’s. Their food is okay. Not too greasy, hot, cold, expensive, under/overcooked, under/over seasoned, etc and blah blah blah. Is it better than Skippers? Maybe by a nose. Mo’s chowder strikes me as having a few more ingredients(bacon!) But the fish and fries are basically a tie. It’s probably one of the cheaper options if you are stuck here in Captive Audience Land.

I was surprised to see a Mo’s at PDX. I was also surprised that their food was pretty good, especially when compared to the declining food at their Newport location(Mo’s Annex). The chowder was, for the first time in a long time, full on flavor. The clam taste was apparent in the thick soup. In addition, I got a good proportion of ingredients, which is in stark contrast to the time my soup was mostly made of potatoes at their Newport location. Service was also really fast considering that Mo’s really isn’t a fast food chain. If I were to base this review on just this location, they would receive a 5 star rating. But unfortunately, my bad experiences from Mo’s Annex are ringing loud in my mind. Mo’s Annex — Why can’t you be more like PDX Mo’s?

What a revelation, Mo’s-the childhood cannon beach favorite– has a shop in PDX! Of course, transplanting a restaurant into an airport let’s you examine the core of the operation and experience. In the case of Mo’s, a big part of the charm is the cozy surroundings that you get to enjoy your food in at the coast. This doesn’t translate well into the stale environment of the airport. It’s the same food you’ve learned to love at a decent(especially for an airport) price but it doesn’t have the same charm as a lot of the coastal locations.

Literally the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had. The biscuit was yeasty and extra soft. The egg was cooked properly(not rubbery), l. The gravy was applied thinly, like a condiment. The sausage was a little greasy but that’s almost unavoidable on a flat top. The cheddar was really good, melty just the way you would expect and very different from the usual American cheese on breakfast sandwiches. If you have an early AM flight then check this place out for breakfast.

Went for breakfast. Food was gross, under cooked and cold. For the price, for breakfast, so not worth it! Stay away for breakfast.

If you’re looking for a New England or even an SF type of chowder — look elsewhere. The fresh clam taste is nowhere to be found in this bowl. Also note, it has pork, which I couldn’t find a notice of anywhere in their menu. I asked for a 12oz bowl and the cashier gave and charged me for the 16oz. I didn’t find this out until I got to my gate. Some of the potatoes were mushy and some were hard/partially cooked. They either don’t stir it or they put yesterday’s batch in with a new days batch. They need to refresh the soup and not mix the old stuff with the new stuff!!! It’s gross!

Super friendly service, lots of different things in the menu. Very good clam chowder and a terrible chicken Caesar salad.

OK… I’m a sucker for good clam chowder. 8:00AM or PM, its still the best around! Happy waitstaff, prompt delivery of the food. Airport food, this is hot and filling!

I am rating this«A-OK» and a little surprised how others have rated the airport fast food restaurant. It is what it is – fast food at the airport. Rating it as such it’s what they should expect. Clam Chowder from Mo’s is something I’ve wanted to taste again. Years ago I tasted it at one of the restaurants they have along the Oregon Coast. I used to tell everyone I thought Mo’s Clam Chowder wasn’t really a clam chowder, it was Bacon Chowder because that’s all I could remember in the taste. Boy, was I wrong if this sample of chowder is as a real sample of their chowder. I was pleasingly surprised. I hate clam chowder to taste more like bacon than clams and that is often the case with places you visit. This chowder was definitely flat though but it didn’t taste like bacon. There were lots of clams in it but perhaps it needed something. The chowder was missing flavor. Paprika was sprinkled on top. I’d never seen that before either but there wasn’t much of it so there really wasn’t any taste to it. I think it was added more as a decorative splash and that’s okay too. I would try it again but maybe grab a bottle of salt and ask for butter to go with it. Staff was very friendly and service was fast.

After a whirlwind trip in Portland(and surrounding areas) I thought I’d send myself off with some plane-side seafood. The meal: A clam chowder with bay shrimp sprinkled on top. The verdict: Sub par. I had to add Tabasco for a kick and crackers– something I never do– for a jump in consistency. The taste was very bland overall. It wasn’t awful, it isn’t something I look back on in disgust or wish I didn’t order but it definitely wasn’t good either. It is the epitome of «okay.» Beyond that there’s not much else to say. The service was adequate though the workers weren’t very nice at all. The atmosphere was very blah. But, it was airport food, which should have summed it up before I even ordered.

Was at the airport and had some time to kill and definitely needed a bite before heading back east. There were signs plastered everywhere about the famous chowder. Well maybe I’m just critical as I am a New Englander and love our chowder… I took one bite and actually threw it away. There was so much paprika on it that the only flavor it had was paprika… Which does not belong on the chowder just an FYI. It’s like they went to garnish it and the top fell off… I was a little disappointed as it looked really think and was hoping it would be better. I would have brought it back but the line was way to long to go through. Some redeeming things were the fried clam strips which were cooked to perfection, and yes those can be messed up if cooked to much, which these were definitely not. I may try this again and ask them to hold the mountain of paprika but not sure, I’ll definitely be back for the clam strips…

I was super excited to try Mo’s because it is a new establishment in the PDX airport. I ordered the clam chowder and the grilled fish tacos. The clam chowder was more watery than creamy and it didn’t have many chunks of clam. It was more like a potato chowder than anything. The fish tacos were very bland and if I hadn’t had salsa and tarter sauce to dump on them, they would have been virtually flavorless.

I had 15 minutes to spare before boarding on my 7AM JetBlue flight… and I was super hungry. Mo’s Seafood was nearby, so I decided to get a bagel and lox. Kinda expensive(around $ 10), but expected as it’s airport food and it has smoked salmon. The wait to also get my order was long(which was a little scary as I needed to board soon) but it looks like they JUST opened, so they were playing catch up. Overall, the bagel was good, I enjoyed it once I got in the plane. Good for fast airport food.

Like many people have said that their chowder was lacking something, my wife said it needed a little bit of salt… then again she says that a lot. I personally think it was good with a little bit of pepper and Tabasco. Then again, I think many things taste better with pepper and Tabasco. Point being is that I thought it was good. My bowl had lots of everything in it. You can grab as much crackers that your heart desires as well. So add whatever your taste buds like and you should get a great chowder. My wife had the French Toast combo with bacon and said she liked it and said it was a 4 star experience. All in all the friendly service, the convenience of getting something warm and tasty into our stomachs I have to give this place 4 stars.

I love Clam Chowder, I thought I would grab a bread bowl and beer before my flight. What I was anticipating was some yummy Pacific Northwest Chowder and suds. Sadly this wasn’t to be. The chowder had more potatoes than clams, didn’t taste fresh and just plain not good. Needless to say when you’re in an airport you’re hostage to the eateries that dot the terminal but when in Portland again, and I will be soon, I will be sure to eat before I spend my hard earned $$ on the fare at Mo’s Seafood and Chowder — at least for the chowder that is. I gave it two stars for the service. It was friendly and prompt. Too bad they can’t support their staff with equal food offerings

It’s all about the clam chowder. I am on a quest to eat at every mo’s. So this was a find in the airport. You have to hit the c terminal. From d terminal you can take the long hall to the north of checkpoint d and be there quickly. The chowder is the best and make sure to add the garlic bread for a nice combo.

Mo’s clam chowder conveniently at the airport! A bowl of their chowder with a little spice and butter and a side of garlic cheese bread brings me right back to summers at the Oregon coast. A solid option for a hot meal while waiting for your flight!
