Having eaten at the Laurelwood C gate when I got to Portland the first time and really enjoying the food and service it was an easy choice to stop here before I head home. This location had food that was just as good but the service was so bad. There were so many staff members walking around but it took them 30 minutes to bring my check and an extra 10 minutes for them to bring my card back. Such a disappointment.

Stoped in for a quick bite at an ungodly hour. The breakfast was fast, very tasty, and reasonably priced. The service, however, was even better. Our server — sorry, forgot her name… Sheilah, maybe(?) — was friendly, efficient, and went out of her way to help us. It was a very welcoming environment for a bunch of people who would rather be in a REM state. Laurelwood also makes outstanding beers –something I wasn’t too excited about on this occasion, but highly recommended later in the day.

Worst service I never had. Bartender was more concerned about complaining to customers about a bad tip then to bother serving our party of 3… oh yeah we had been sitting at the bar for 10 plus minutes

Came in and seated ourselves at a table. No service. Got up and moved to the bar where we waited for another 10 minutes before the bartender said she’d be with us in a min. 5 more min later we see her at the end of the bar complaining about a tip someone had left her… and I’m shocked because I can’t imagine anyone getting service in there worth tipping. We walked out. Thanks for nothing.

Generally speaking, airport dining is seldom a five star experience. The Laurelwood Brewing Co is a refreshing change from the overpriced fare offered at most airport eateries! Located by the A gates, you might have to go out of your way to find it, but it’s worth the trek! I have long been a fan of their sandwiches, but just tried breakfast for the first time. Eggs were perfectly cooked, bacon crunchy, and hash browns not too greasy. Coffee was excellent as well. Judging from the jovial comments overheard from the bar, they also have a great selection of beer(although I did not partake, seeing as that it’s only about 9am!) Efficient and friendly service was also much appreciated. Amanda was my server and she was fast and cheerful. A perfect way to pass the time between flights!

Stumbled across this brewery to grab a beer on a layover in Portland. I was greeted by a big smile from Teraesa. She was friendly and knowledgable about their beer selection and menu. She was attentive but didn’t rush to take my order(although her bar was almost full). I’m not from the area and inquired about the company. She was able to share history of the owners/company and other locations they had in Portland. And they make their own bottled Siraccha hot sauce for sale to boot! Overall my experience was the best customer service I’ve ever had at a brewery, let alone an airport. My only slightly non-positive comment was my taco salad, although delicious, was a bit overdressed. Next time you’re in PDX, stop by for a brew and a smile.

Stuck in portland for a delayed layover flight thought I would grab a bite to eat. It was too crowded to sit in the bar or sitting area, so I had to order to go. Food was just okay. Nothing to write home about! During the closing of the resteruant, the workers were very loudly swearing, playing music, and not making the company look good. No go in my mind…

I’ve been here several times as I fly United out of PDX often, but tonight I had the taco salad– spicy and actually delicious– as well as the Nut Brown Ale upon Amanda’s suggestion. Both were perfect and Amanda, despite having lots of people to help, was super friendly and very efficient. I had debated between Rouge and here tonight but I am very happy with my decision.

My server is friendly. He was right on too of it. Waiting on a breakfast sandwich that will not disappoint me because I’m not expecting much at all!

As of right now, there are two breweries in Portland airport, Rogue and Laurelwood. While I enjoy Rogue, Laurelwood has a really cool beer selection and their food is better. The only reason why this isn’t a four star rating, is the service. The wait staff can be slow and sometimes they forget your order. As far as the beer, pick any style that suits you and you will not be disappointed! Same goes for the food.

Great place to wait for your flight. Better than average Pub Fare with beer that you know and love from Portland! Hopefully you’re flying on Alaska Airlines!

Location: For United travelers, location is perfectly central between Gates E2 and E3 at PDX(and a convenient location to visually assess the boarding status for nearby gates as one tries to squeeze in a meal before boarding!). Typical airport bar atmosphere, with a few tables more optimized for gate and people-watching situated outside. A highlight is definitely the power outlets that run along the bottom of all the walls on the inside — very useful and much appreciated for the modern connected traveler. Probably a pretty big draw for most folks right there. (And for airplane geeks like myself, the interior provides a great vantage point for planespotting with giant windows facing jetbridges and the two main runways at PDX…) Food: As a frequent traveler to PDX, I’ve actually managed to try most of the items on the menu. Have to say it’s pretty great for airport food — I haven’t really had anything too greasy and all dishes seemed to have been well prepared. Portions are generous, and I haven’t really had anything I didn’t like off the menu. Making trips to Laurelwood before leaving for home for the Hummus Fresca or Tuna Melt on Thursday nights are almost ritual at this point. The Turkey Club is also massive and amazingly delicious — not sure if the fact that it’s a turkey sandwich makes it any healthier considering the buttered bread and generous bacon slices… Definitely get the tater tots(edges the garlic fries for me) and make a point to ask for the«Sri-rancha» sauce(ranchdressing + srirancha = amaze). Bonus points for serving their own beer, and for the most part choices are solid. I’m a fan of lighter lagers and wheat beers, so options are generally a bit short for me in the Pacific Northwest, but Laurelwood’s German Lager and Hefeweizen are quite tasty. Beer afficionados should definitely spring for the beer sampler — well worth the price. Service: Unfortunately a bit inconsistent depending on the waitstaff. Generally friendly to very friendly, but as a restaurant located in an airport, the paramount metric is timely service. Self-seating, but sometimes takes the waitstaff a bit of time to realize they actually have a new customer, particularly if you’re sitting at one of the tables in the terminal area. Refill pace is spot on. Food can also take a while to arrive — not to the point where one might inquire about it, but might get a bit antsy if one is counting on getting a meal in before boarding. Value: Considering the generous portion sizes, very reasonable for airport pricing. A great meal with a few Laurelwood brews can be had for under $ 20.(Tax free in Portland helps!) Overall: A nice casual place to grab a meal before boarding a flight with solid beers and generally great execution for the entrees. Not the healthiest, but really delicious food, particularly the fried options. Likely the most tasty restaurant at PDX. Power ports are sometimes a godsend for frequent travelers. Service could be a bit more attentive at times, but is generally friendly. Pretty great for airport food — 3.5 stars for me but rounded down to 3 for the sometimes spotty service.

When: Tue. June 17th8:00 am, party of 2 Laurelwood Brewing has two locations at PDX, one in Concourse A and the other in Concourse E. This review is for the Concourse E location. First of all, my tip for quick service is to sit at the bar if you can… its not that the service is slow or anything, but because of the walls, partitions and plants some tables are hidden and the servers may not just see you altogether… My wife ordered the French Toast platter and I ordered the Laurelwood Breakfast Sandwich. The sandwich was a hearty meal in itself which consisted of bacon, sausage, egg and Tillamook Cheddar Cheese. The French Toast was rather bland, but when you add-on the brown sugar butter, then it becomes a decent dish. Since this location is past the TSA security, you can get a growler or growlette filled to take on the plane to enjoy at home. My wife got her growlette filled with the Red Ale and we arrived in Honolulu, it was still cold yet and ready to enjoy. When we arrived, there were only(2) servers to cover the entire restaurant, which was about the ¾ full… after another server arrived a half-hour later, then it became a little more calming… because of its location in Concourse E this brewpub is a little less hectic than Rogue Brewery n Concourse D… unless you have a preference for Rogue Beer, than I would recommend this brewpub when waiting for your flight…

A neat little«brewpub»(can it be called that if it’s located in an airport terminal?) that happened to be situated right next door to our flight gate. Boyfriend and I were short on time before we needed to catch our flight home, so we swung by for some quick and filling food. And, this way, we could say that we even managed to hit one more«brewery» before we headed home! Service was pretty prompt right after we sat ourselves. Our waitress was friendly and joked with us while we were deciding on what we wanted and when we placed our order. Wish I had gotten her name! I ordered the Tree Hugger organic Porter and Boyfriend ordered one of the several stouts available. The porter had chocolate-y notes to it that I really enjoyed, but I didn’t necessarily notice any«tree» taste to it that the name implied it might’ve had(one day, I’ll manage to try a tree beer!). I believe Boyfriend ordered a burger for food while I ordered their burrito. The burrito was really filling, but a tiny bit spicy. I couldn’t manage to finish it, unfortunately. While the porter was pretty delicious, the burrito wasn’t very good. I mean, it wasn’t bad. But I’ve had better burritos at local taquerias at home. I wish I had ended up ordering something else that wasn’t quite so disappointing, but oh well. And for almost $ 10 — should’ve saved my money and gotten something else :(

There aren’t many options in this terminal, and while at the airport, I had to settle. I ordered a cup of chili and a blonde ale. The chili would have been ok, but it was luke warm at best. I didn’t dare to send it back because the guy that brought it out didn’t seem happy. Oh well.

I know what you are thinking, how could a brewery at an airport be any good? Well, I too was pleasantly surprised. The beer was good, and the food selection was quite decent(especially for an airport). I enjoyed the soup and their Southwest Chicken wrap was quite delicious(highly recommend it). The Workhorse IPA is quite good as is the free range red. I liked the porter too, but too bad they didn’t have any of their stout the time I visited. The bartender was nice and friendly and offered me tastes of several of the brews including the seasonals. I like that the employees are trained with a good base knowledge on the beers. All and all, a good place to catch a bite and a beer before your flight.

My flight at Gate E2 was delayed. I decided to grab a pre-flight cocktail. Sign at place next to E2 said, «Please Seat Yourself.» I sat myself at the tables across from the restaurant next to the people mover. I tried to wave and catch the attention of the waitress multiple times, but she always seemed to not notice my waving arms or «excuse mes.» So after about 10 minutes of seeing 3 tables seat themselves and 2 of them having their orders taken, I decided to walk in and put in my drink order. I order my drink from the bar direct. She asked for ID(I’ve been carded more times in Portland in a weekend than I’ve been carded in SF for my entire 20s), I sauntered back to my table to grab my ID. As I was approaching the bar, the bartender saw me, but decided that she still had enough time to ring out several other tabs, which took 1 – 2 minutes. Then, finally, she started on my drink order(strawberry lemonade and vodka tonic with two limes). I promptly handed over my card as soon as she finished the drinks, but instead of turning around and sliding it in the cash register, she decided to pull a draft of beer for someone else. Then, she rang my order. Even though my flight was delayed, all that waiting was annoying. Too further aggravate me. .. the tonic was flat. Complete fail. I will not be coming by Laurelwood for anything next time. I’ll hike over to the other side of the airport if I somehow end up at the E gates again.

Came here to eat during my long layover. It was fairly empty on a Saturday evening. Ordered a spinach salad with grilled chicken, and a side of fries. The fries finished first, so the waiter went ahead and brought them out for me to snack on while I waited for the salad. I thought that was pretty cool. The fries would good and crisp. The salad came out, and there was a big amount of grilled chicken topping the bed of spinach, walnuts, blue cheese, etc. I wasn’t complaining. It was pretty good for a restaurant in an airport. I was happy there were plenty of power outlets around all the seating. I was able to work on my laptop while I ate.

My first meal ever in Portland is at Laurelwood near Gate E2. What a better place to start my week in Portland at a brewery pub with a sampling tray with every single beers they have on draft($ 10) and a Brewer’s Burger($ 10.95) prepared medium rare. Great beer and tasty burger! All this starving on my flight is definitely worth my while! I am now have faith in Airport restaurants again! My server is attentive, helpful and friendly. I think I start to like Portland a lot… especially after I finished my tray of samplers!
