This place is a treat for the senses. A lovely little shop harkening back to small sweets shops of yesteryear. The smell that assails you when you walk in is nothing short of divine. The designs and creations are lovely and fanciful. And then there are the chocolates themselves. Little parcels of fabulous. They aren’t cheap, but worth every penny. A happy, happy place.

I recently got a gift of some Moonstruck Chocolate Café candy as a gift. Unfortunately i was not in the store itself as my daughter lives in Portland and she sent them to me for my birthday. I got a large selection of different truffles mostly alcoholic. All the chocolates i got were dark chocolate and were simply outstanding, Among the best I have ever had. Got the distillery collection which has liquor in them, as well as some of the craft brewers collection which have beer in them. They were all so delicious i can tell you which one I liked the best as they were all great. I highly recommend the Moonstruck Chocolate Café as the chocolate truffles are simply out of this world.

Shut up and take my money! Thank you to the kind lady who kept giving us samples of chocolates, and thank you for making me buy more chocolates than I would ever consume at any given month. Here you’ll find rich chocolate truffles that aren’t oversweetened, and come in flavors that have been infused by reduction to their truffle fillings. Beer infusion? Check. Whiskey infusion? Check(and it’s freakishly strong!) Fruit infusion? Check. Bailey’s Irish Cream? Done(creamy with a kick of Bailey’s) Every single one of them had smooth, velvety chocolate that melted easily and delivered a perfect mixture of the selected flavor and chocolate itself. They’re not dense truffles, but they’re rich enough such that a few will be sufficient for a light dessert. I’d definitely recommend to try.

Moonstruck is rightfully a local institution here in Portland. They are a local success story, much like a lot of the sportswear. Their chocolate comes in bars, truffles and more, with lots of variety in flavors, most excitedly when some truffles are infused with alcohol from local breweries. It is mid-range as far as chocolate goes. They have cafes all over the Portland area, and they sell outside those boundaries. I had not had their products in awhile, so I decided to go just hours ago. Their bars are a bit too typical, and I like the milkshakes at Coffee People in the airport the best. Their truffles are great, with some nuance beyond See’s, and of course, at about double the price. This location is at the edge of an office building. It sells many of their products, including several beverages such as milkshakes. There is a small table, yet it can get very crowded. While I was waiting to get a five dollar bag of hazelnut chocolate balls, they let me sample their Mayan truffles. All was good, though at that price, sometimes you can do a little bit better at $ 2.25 per truffle. I liked it, but I prefer Missionary Chocolates. Moonstruck isn’t my favorite chocolate, but they bring a relatively rich flavor to market. This is place is comprehensive at chocolate to say the least.

I Believe in Miracles… you sexy thing. Hot Chocolate is sexy. Room temperature chocolate is sexy. Chilly chocolate on a hot day, is sexy. Get it, this is one sexy substance. Chocolate is good for other things besides a prop for being all sexy. Chocolate, especially dark chocolate is rich in flavonoids, a substance found in other things that are good for you but way less sexy, like onions. Mix that chocolate with wine, another flavonoid rich elixir and you have a bonafide recipe for sexy, and good health. Amongst some of the health benefits is that chocolate consumption can be correlated to is cutting bad cholesterol, boosting antibodies, improving kidney function, and lowering blood pressure. I am not a doctor, I just like to play doctor sometimes. Please consult with an actual medical physician before starting a chocolate regimen as there is a possibility of side effects such as getting fat if you are a glutton and take the whole chocolate as a miracle cure too far. The chocolates are pretty too. It takes me forever to pick out which two little chocolates I am going to walk away with. I can tell you this, I have low cholesterol, low blood pressure and rarely get ill. Oh, and I’m hella sexy. Thank you good folks at Moonstruck for doing the Lord’s work and the work of the pharmaceutical companies. Gotta go and refill that RX, STAT. 2016 — Review # 29

Lovely chocolate shop! The person working there was more than patient about waking us through the many chocolates they had! We told her we loved dark chocolate and she gave us some to sample. Their critter truffles were so darn cute, we bought 3 to our half dozen box! If we were ever back in Portland, we’ll have to stop by here again! The chocolates here are so much better than your average Godiva or See’s Candies store!

I was in Portland for a conference. The guy I was dating at the time is really into chocolate, so I wanted to make sure to bring some back. I ordered the custom six piece box. I chose cookies & cream cone, honey vanilla caramel, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, werewolf(crème brûlée), and spider milk chocolate. The pieces were $ 2.25 expect for the cone which was $ 2.75. $ 14 for box of six speciality chocolates isn’t bad. Overall, they were all pretty good. Much better than some other treats I picked up during my trip.

Moonstruck Chocolate is a great chocolate company best known for their truffles. They had a location around the corner from our hotel, the Portland Marriott City Center, so we decided to check them out. This location was a tiny, one person store. Only a few people could fit in it at once, but it has a large selection and the service was excellent! The wife and I ended up buying a bunch of truffles to bring home for family and only bought ourselves a chocolate bar with raspberries and fennel sugar. It was sublime and well worth the price! The truffles barely lasted a few days with our families too! Definitely worth a visit for the chocolate lover. Prices are very high, but I promise you, it’s worth every penny!

Came by here on Small Business Saturday to check them out and support them, who wouldnt want to come by a chocolate café? Definitely a small shop, but nice & cozy inside, staff was super friendly letting us know what they have and helpful to see if we were looking for something in particular. Offerred us some samples as well to get our engines going. We decided to get some of their truffles, very delicious, nicely made and great little sweet treat. With a purchase that day, we could do a grab bag to win something. We won an additional 9 piece candy set. Woohoo! Thanks Moonstruck! Overall, they have delicious chocolates and a place that shouldnt be missed when in Portland.

I’ve been to a few locations prior to coming to this one. This location is very small. They have a nice display of the chocolates nonetheless. The service here is really good, the chocolatier helped me pick out some very decent chocolates and even let me sample some. Though the chocolates are expensive they are so delicious here. Definitely a nice little shop and will come again if I’m nearby.

A cute, little shop that serves drinks, hot chocolate, teas(but why when you’re in a house of chocolate?), and of course, truffles and other sorts of yummy morsels. I got a tiny milk hot chocolate that was THEBOMB! It was smooth, rich, creamy, and just the right amount and at the right temperature to consume immediately. It was the best I’ve had in my life. I don’t remember what kind of chocolate I got, but I do remember what they were shaped in: 1. White mouse 2. A pear-shaped chocolate 3. A truffle with a red flower on top(for raspberry) 4. A dog(which I believe is peanut butter) 5. A bottle with a cap on it 6. A blue fish 7. A lemon 8. A Cookies and Cream Cone(like an ice cream cone) All were good. All were worth every cent I spent on them(they are not cheap!). And I loved it so much I went back two times before my flight back to LA.

A return visit, but this time on a very hot day, so I ordered an iced coffee. I asked which drinks were iced, she said any of them. I asked which was popular and she pretty much read me the menu, so that didn’t help indecisive me. I think I ended up with a Mayan dark chocolate iced coffee with whipped cream It was very tasty. Hints of cinnamon. Previously, on that cold day many years ago, I had a hot coffee drink and they put a truffle on top. I missed that this time!

Simply awesome. If you want chocolate hard or liquid this is your place. The macaroons are good but if you find yourself at Moonstruck, stay with the chocolate. Wonderful.

I’m so happy my boyfriend told me about this place! He planned and took me here. Seeing all the decorated interesting flavor of chocolate just melted my heart. They also have prepackaged chocolate if you don’t want order a mixed box. Choices varies and I did both. I ordered 3 prepackaged chocolate. One all had mices out of chocolate. It was the cutest thing ever and I just had to get it for a good friend of mine! For mixed package though, I picked raspberry champagne flavor, oreos truffles, and two other. I wanted to pick more but it wasn’t necessary if I’m just sharing with my boyfriend.

I highly recommend a Mayan hot chocolate in Portland’s wet weather. Amazing! The employee was so friendly and gave a couple recommendations. She even offered a sample of the crème brûlée truffle. I walked away with a dark chocolate bar(~$ 9 each) with strawberries and basil sugar, a dark chocolate bar with cherry hearts and peach gummies, and a couple of chocolate pieces(~$ 2.50 each). Amazing, I tell you. Definitely a little gem of a shop. There are a couple of locations, so make it a point to stop by if you are in town. If you live nearby, you are lucky!

So I am down town and had had happy hour then shopping when a tourist asks directions to Ben and Jerry’s seems his wife wants a chocolate shake. I give directions then recommend here. Unlike the big chains Moonstruck is from Portland and found here. This tiny branch is better somehow to the one a few blocks away in the mall. I still think its drinks have more chocolate in them. My favorites are the Mayan shakes and hot chocolate, but there are others also of course they sell their excellent chocolates many shaped for the seasons(fish, pumpkins etc) also the hot chocolate mix so you can make it at home. Anything from here makes a great Portland gift.
