Once a month these nice folks make me a beautiful bouquet. This month, Yellow is the word and Bloom is the verb. Always willing to work with my budget in the service of beauty. Thanks!

Every year on Valentine’s day, my son and I create a custom bouquet at Mai’s. They always have a large selection of fresh cut flowers. Last night we purchased: bird of paradise, yellow roses, orange roses, dasies, lilys, carnations, statice, dahlias, sunflowers, alstroemeria, pom chrysanthemum, and more. The arrangement was almost as tall as my son!
Their customer service is always excellent and they are big on high-​quality presentation of the final product. Pricing is usually $ 30-​$ 50, depending how many flowers you choose to include. Highly recommended if you’re in the Northeast.
Seriously, ignore the one star complainers below. Be smart and do not use third-​party websites to order flowers. If you need a bouquet, go and and visit Mai’s in person or call them directly. You’ll thank me later.

This is a great place to get flowers whether I am on a $ 5 budget or a $ 50 budget. The florist are friendly and will put their personal artistic side to the bouquet of flowers. I noticed the one star review from the other Unilocalers and just want to say make sure you are ordering the flowers directly through the florist. From what I was told, a lot of the smaller local florists aren’t able to compete with large internet companies, and large corporates therefore, they contract to fill orders for larger companies via internet. Personally, this florist has gone the extra mile to get delivers out for me even when it was last minute to get my flowers out. I don’t live in the area but when I need flowers and I’m in the area this is the only place I go to.

VERY POOR customer service. My boyfriend suprised me on my birthday with what was supposed to be 2 dozen red roses. He paid full price. There were 11. When he called Mai, she was rude, argumentative, and didn’t come even close to listening to my boyfriend. It was like she was the one complaining against him. She blamed the online flower service that we ordered through, said it was their fault, they told her only 1 dozen and not 2, and that we needed to contact them. When my boyfriend very politely mentioned that if that was indeed the case, she didn’t even give us the full 12 that were ordered, she started yelling at him again. WORST customer service I have ever seen. She wasTERRIBLE. Aggressive and nasty. We will not order through the online service again for a Portland, OR. delivery unless we are promised that they won’t use Mai Flwwer Bill’s.

I don’t buy flowers a lot, so I had very little idea where to go last Sunday when I needed a couple of daisies to use as props for a photo shoot. I went to Fred Meyer thinking they’d be cheap and their selection was horrible. The closest thing they had to daisies was miniature sunflowers, and they were all smooshed into plastic wrap so their petals were bent. I asked if I could buy them one at a time and was told that what was out there was what was available. I wasn’t about to pay $ 5 for a bunch of smooshed flowers that weren’t even the variety I wanted in the first place… So I went online to find a flower shop.
Surprisingly, this was pretty much it! I looked up 3 other places that were not open on Sunday. I’m still baffled by this — being a photographer I know that many important flower holidays (like Mother’s Day) are on Sundays, and Weddings and other flower-​heavy events often tend to be on Sundays…
Anyway, I called up and the woman who answered the phone was super friendly, told me the prices for single stems of daisies, and told me to come on by. It’s a funny little place, but their selection was just perfect for me and she even went into the back to get a new bunch out for me after looking at the ones that were in the cooler and declaring them «wilted» (They didn’t look so bad to me). She asked what they were for and gave me some good recommendations for how to keep them looking perfect until the shoot that evening.
I will definitely be going back here next time.

Had to stop real quick for some flowers and Fred Meyer’s selection was horrible so I went to MAI Flower Bill’s and was impressed. They put something really nice together and quickly as well. Price was fair.
