Mac’s will be missed! I sure wish the landlord had been reasonable and willing to renew/renegotiate the lease. This sports bar had great food and even better service!

It’s closed its doors after years of failure.(Jan. 31, 2015) If it would’ve taken reviews and complaints regarding food quality this place could have had a fighting chance, but they were head strong. Please, bring back an Izzy’s or Mazzi’s… or even a TGIF, Red Robbin, etc. RIP Macadam’s Bar & Grill you’re food was crap but can I have your shuffleboard table? *I got a message from the owner or should I say previous owner… Yes, I wrote this review to let people know that you’re closed and if it comes off as bitchy then it comes off as bitchy. But can I have your shuffleboard table?

Too few servers on staff. The waitress had too much going on and would constantly forget things. We arrived at 12:15 and it was 1:15 before our food arrived. It really is a poor experience, and if they didn’t have the Big Ten network I would have never stayed. Won’t be returning.

Worst Sports Bar Ever. The food was mediocre at best, the beer meh and the service miserable. But most importantly, do your research before you go and make sure there aren’t some weird/random Alumni groups that are going to come in and hog up entire sections to watch obscure football games. It was Saturday night and a little crowded. It took 15 mins for someone to take our order and then an HOUR to get burgers. .but that wasn’t the main problem… We went to watch THEWORLDSERIES not some second rate college football team. The hostess that greeted us kindly asked if there was a game we came to see. We let her know we were interested in the World Series. She sat us in a room, that was ¾ full of people watching the World Series. We were halfway through our meal when three SMALL tables full of an alumni group got grouchy about not having the whole room to themselves. A server informed us that we would have to watch said football game on all the TVs but one. She turned on ALL the TVs to the football game. No response to complaints. It took 20 mins to get our bill. We will NEVER return.

I came here to watch a Cal football game and we were placed in our private room towards the back of the bar. Service here is pretty great despite a busy Saturday with other football teams playing. They’re really good with getting your order and served right away. The food is ok, despite a huge serving, but a bit pricey in my opinion. They have a great college football menu of drinks!

Go here to watch a game or happy hour, but not a nice dinner out. They host tons of football parties(alumni association watching parties) and it’s always a fun and raucous atmosphere on game day. Even when swamped(I’m talking hundreds of beer swillin’ football fans) they manage to serve mostly amicably. Yes, the food is hit or miss, but there definitely are great things on the menu, it’s just a bit of where’s waldo to find what is and isn’t. Happy Hour is tasty and a great deal, and if happen to have went to a major Pac 12 or Big 10 school,(and maybe Big 12 or SEC), go here and catch a game with some fans.

Try happy hour menu. Service was ok, not great just ok. The place has become a little darker inside like Oswego Grill and Manzana. I really don’t get the whole Portland thing with it dark outside due to weather and dark inside. But you never know. The happy hour menu was pretty good and all house drinks were $ 1.00 off. I had a burger and salad and they were both pretty good for the price. Will go back again and try some dinner items.

I effin’ love Macadam’s. Super good food, a great trivia night, and one of the few places in Portland that achieves the elegant balance of being packed without inducing claustrophobia during Blazers games. I’ve tried a number of different meals here(Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf, T.B.A., Mushroom Swiss Burger and Smoked Chicken Penne, to name a few) and I’ve never been disappointed with the portion size or the time it takes to get my food. Prices are reasonable, and the waitresses are some of the most friendly and helpful women I’ve met in Portland! I highly recommend Macadam’s for a beer and some dinner while watching the game!

For a sports bar in SW Portland this is a great neighborhood bar. To start I will be back again to watch the games and to get a quick after work drink. There are many pros: plenty of TV’s, a fireplace for cold days, ample parking, cheap happy hour food, staff is usually friendly. The challenge is the food. Even for a sports bar where I do not expect top-notch gourmet food but a grill cheese and fries will keep me very happy, I was unimpressed. This place has a lot of great qualities, fix the food and more people will come.

Let me start off by saying that I do plan to return to this place and try it again, because perhaps it was just an off night. The service was fine, though a little slow, which was odd because it was nowhere near being busy. On the other hand, our server was friendly and professional, and for the few questions I had about the menu she had answers. The bathrooms were clean and well-lit. There are a good number of TVs and a larger projection screen area as well, so if you’re after a particular sports game you can probably watch it here. A TV or two looked to be out of commission, unfortunately, which was sad. The beer was good and they have seasonals as well. There is an area of the menu that talks about a focus on quality. The prices aren’t too bad, $ 8-$ 10 range typically. Unfortunately, the food left something to be desired as far as flavor goes, at least to me. Not a bad place to hang out, I would really like to see it on a busier night with more atmosphere. I will probably go back someday and try some other dishes, but right now I am not really clawing my way to get back.

I went in for watching the BCS chamionship game. Got to try some of their Happy hour items like Chicken Strips with fries, Buffalo Caesar wrap, BBQ chicken pizza. All of them were pretty good and were cheap eats in the happy hour with decent portion sizes. We also had the Nachos with chicken which was awesome. I liked their Strawberry lemonade a lot as the lemonade had a fresh squeezed taste to it and didn’t feel it came from a soda fountain.

Little did I know the Broncos would blow a 24 point lead… but I was convinced that it would be good to catch the second half… We were competing with a Timbers playoff game so many of the single and double TV locations(these days 99% of all bar/restaurants) were taken. We found ourselves at Macadams on a Sunday evening. Ample Beers and a «full» bar but don’t expect any craft drinks let alone anything with bitters… they do not carry any Appertif… but I guess Campari and NFL football are not a natural branding marriage. They do have an «all day» Sunday happy hour menu with some limited food options and the onion rings weren’t bad. Plenty of flat screens dispersed along the restaurant with 2 giant screens as well. The restaurant was over lit… way too bright, felt more like a cafeteria. The bartender busy but friendly enough. So if you need a spot to catch a match/game…why not here?

I really don’t like sports bars, but I like this place. The drinks are fair sized and reasonably priced, the food is pretty decent, and late night is not usually too crowded. On nights when they have events, or there are important games, the place can be a zoo. Most nights it’s low key, and fun for a group of friends. As a place to meet people, I would say it has some promise. I usually don’t sit at the bar, being there with hockey buddies, but there are usually people there.

I was expecting nothing but fried bar food from a place that calls themselves a bar and grill, but was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food they have there. I tried the fish tacos, and they were good. They were SUPER filling! The ambiance is awesome – tons of TVs to watch Monday Night Football. There are also a couple other deals on Sundays and Mondays($ 2 cajun tots!). The happy hour menu looks pretty amazing… I’ll definitely be back to try it!

Macadam’s slogan is something along the lines of «Come for the game, stay for the food» or «Come in for football, come back for food.» More appropriately, I think it should be «come for the game, tolerate the food, and come back because there will be another game next week.» Look, the food is fine. The drinks are fine. The service is great and they have tons of room with tons of TVs. We come to watch Wisconsin Badgers football when they play at 9AM(blast you, PST!!!). We go because it’s a pleasant place to be and they are open early enough. There is no part of me that wants to go specifically because of the food.

My school alumni meets here for game viewing. Generally get good service & tons of TVs. Nice cordoned areas for different alumni clubs. Their happy hour is decent… wish they had some of the more popular items. I like their thick fries(nicely salted, etc)… their chicken strips are good too… they have happy hour for strips + fries: a pretty good deal. Artichoke & Jalapeño dip was just okay… wish it was a little spicier. I like that they have a good selection of beer: Oakshire Amber(on draft) was something that I tried and was pretty good. Terminator, etc were on draft and good.

The food here is surprisingly good for bar and grill fare. What kind of bar and grill has a quinoa bowl with fresh beets? Come on! It is super tasty. I also liked the veggie burger, which comes with some very good medium-thickness french fries. There is also happy hour in the afternoon, and 9 pm until closing. The veggie pizza is on pita, and is small, but tasty. The caprese salad is worth a taste. The chicken fingers got so-so reviews, and I’d pass on the bleu cheese fries(basically just gooey cheese fries). The beer list has some good local options, and I enjoyed my porter($ 1 off domestic draft beers during happy hour). There is a nice patio outside, and the crowd is friendly(it’s a great place to catch a ballgame on one of the big screen TVs). Service has always been very good. And I appreciate the ample parking lot. A great casual restaurant in a nice little neighborhood!

YUM! I enjoyed very much the outdoor seating here. I went on Saturday while the Oregon weather was actually warm and there was hardly anyone outside(many were inside watching the Blazer game), but it was great! Service was nice and the happy hour deals were pretty dang good. I ordered a Fiery Sunrise that had their new jalapeño infused vodka and it was delicious. $ 2 blazer game beer special and their beef and bean dip was pretty yummy. Yes, I sadly ate the whole thing by myself. But it was worth it. I have been here a few times for live music and sports viewing and it’s always been a good time. Overall nice venue with good food and drinks!
