I’ve been seeing Lisa for a few years now. I’ve gone from long to short hair now. She’s simply a wonderful hair stylist and I get a ton of complements on my hair cuts.

I found Lisa on Unilocal and booked an appointment based on reviews. I was nervous because I have thick, dry, messed up mixed girl hair but read a review that she did another person’s hair like mine and did a great job. Lisa did not disappoint! She didn’t use those super hot irons that are in the oven like I’m used to to tame my hair; just a blow dryer and flat iron (WAY better for my hair). She’s also a ninja with the scissors! =) I highly recommend her!

Lisa is fantastic! I have had horrible experiences with stylists in Portland. Actually, as an African American woman with chemically treated hair, I have had several horrible experiences around the country. With all of that being said, I can say that Lisa is one of the best I have encountered. She is excellent at her craft, professional and efficient. I’m not sure why it took me so long to embrace Keratin. It has changed my life. I will not be trusting anyone else with my hair.

Fantastic hair stylist. I’ve been growing out my hair, still deciding on how long to go. My sister had been to her a couple times and I went with her today. I showed Lisa a past photo of myself with a wavy bob and something from pinterest with bangs. She did exactly what I wanted and more. She is very meticulous. Cute little studio and she has nice background music playing. Lisa is very nice and easygoing, but completely professional. She seems very popular and busy so make an appointment well in advance.

I would highly recommend Lisa as a stylist. I have been seeing her for the past 5 years. When I recently moved back to PDX I looked her up immediately. Her work space is conveniently located and parking is easy and free. Lisa listens to what you want in a haircut and delivers 100%. She is such a nice person and her studio is comfortable and immaculate. Reasonable prices. Just can’t say enough about how great she is and her attention to detail is amazing.

Besides being such a nice person, she’s a great cutter! I have that type of hair that is not easy… Curly, not so thick, gray… I could go on, but those are all issues. Oh, I think I forgot it’s curly besides! Lisa has been straightening my hair for several years and then a week later she cuts it. Although I am from Arizona, I spend the summers here and I wish I could take her with me back to Arizona because she is better than anyone I have used in Arizona and… she is so consistent! She’s the best!

I have gone through three pregnancies in four years and Lisa Friedman has made me feel fantastic throughout it all! Whenever I needed a little something extra, whether that was getting bangs (for the first time!) or a cute short haircut or a sexy style, Lisa was there to make it happen! All at a reasonable price, in a beautiful private salon, by appointment.
The experience of getting my hair cut and styled by Lisa is always pampering plus the cut continues to look great as my hair grows.
I won’t be going to anyone else! We are so lucky to have Lisa Friedman here in Portland!

I have been getting my hair cut for 15 years in this city. Never have I been to a stylist who consistently cuts my hair EXACTLY the way I like it. I am not an easy woman to please when it comes to my hair, it is short and I like it cut just so. Lisa is so meticulous in her cutting that I never have to worry about those little things you need to «fix» when you get home. I also seem to be a walking advertisement for her, because I constantly have people asking me where I get my hair cut and who cuts it? I am pleased to share her with others as she is also a delightful woman to know and be around.

Lisa is an awesome stylist. I have wavy/​curly chin-​length hair, and it’s rare that I have had a stylist who can give it a good shape. Lisa gave me an AWESOME cut yesterday, though, and I’m definitely going back next time it grows unruly. Lisa also makes a friend of mine who has really short straight hair look super fly every time she gets a trim. Besides being talented, though, Lisa is a really sweet, funny woman who will listen to what you want (and humor you when you describe your hair fears) and take care of any concerns you have. Great product recommendations too! I started going to Lisa when she was at primp, and I’m glad I followed her when she started her own salon. Highly, HIGHLY recommended.

Lisa is the only hair stylist in Portland that I’ve found who can tame my thick, messy hair into something that can be styled under toddler mama time constraints. Her new studio is in a cute spot (and easily accessible to Black Sheep Bakery before and after) and she’s a lovely person with whom to spend an hour or two. After hunting for more than a year for a stylist in Portland who actually listened to what I wanted and cut my hair in a way that elicited actual compliments from friends, I’m sticking with Lisa for the long term.
