First time at Least Happy. AMAZED by the food. Started out with coffee, which had very unique rock sugar on the stirrers. Had the spectac crepes, with nutella, bananas and gran marnier which was spectacular. They even light the gran marnier at the table for a special touch. Prices are extremely reasonable and food quality is high.

We went into Le Happy, because we wanted some dessert late one night and honestly there one of few restaurants still open late in the area on a week night. We were so disappointed though. For a restaurant that specializes in crepes, there was nothing special about them. I ordered a banana and chocolate crêpe, and while the crêpe itself was fine, the filling was clearly cheap chocolate. So for $ 9 and only two ingredients in the filling– it was bananas(aka, world’s cheapest fruit) and cheap, overly sweet chocolate. In addition to the huge markup, it took forever for us to get the crepes too. Clearly they’re aware of how slow they are, as they put a note at the bottom of their menus about how the wait is from a small kitchen and few staff and will be worth the wait. But I’m sorry, no they’re not. Don’t get me wrong, I understand a thirty minute wait at a restaurant. I go out all the time, and good food takes time. However, crepes are not slow food. Fillings are easily store bought or pre-made, and as someone who regularly makes crepes at home, I know that crêpe batter is supposed to made ahead of time and allowed to sit for so long so that bubbles can settle. So, all this leaves as a cause of the long wait is literally cooking the food. But crepes take minutes to cook, they’re like thin pancakes. There would have to be 10 orders ahead of me for it to take as long as it did to get my food, and there wasn’t. There was only one other table(a group of 4 that were clearly friends with the waiter). Also, there were usually two guys in the kitchen, so I really don’t buy the«only one person fits in the kitchen and that’s why it’s slow» it just seems like an excuse for slow service. Overall, wasn’t impressed by this place. It’s just another restaurant trying too hard to be hipster and trendy, and overcharging for mediocre food.

Go here and follow these steps: 1) Order a drink(recommend red wine) 2) Order a crêpe(recommend the Chocolate Banane or Pommes Chantilly) 3) Drink, eat 4) Repeat as needed for sweetness

Best place ever. Felt like a queen and I feel really happy after leaving. Try the savory crepes, who can get their gluten free OFFTHEHOOK. Don’t be angry, be happy at Le Happy. Signature drinks on me…

If I can prevent at least one hungry person from wasting their valuable time or hard earned money here, I would feel OK about having done just that yesterday. I sat down with a friend at 8:30pm with two other tables of two seated. Both tables seemed into their second drink. We both order a crêpe and after about 30 minutes of hanging out, we notice one of the other tables are just getting theirs. It made me wonder how long they had been waiting. I did catch the blurb in the menu regarding how food ‘might take a little longer if the restaurant is packed’ but considering there are six people in your restaurant and you are just making crêpes, I didn’t think a 1 hour+ wait would apply. 50 minutes in with everyone served I was thinking it was finally our turn. Wrong. The server’s buddy comes in, sits at the bar area, orders a crêpe & gets it five minutes later… is this real life? I thought that was pretty rude. Over an hour in, I finally see something coming out of the kitchen but it heads over to one of the first tables. Unsure what’s going on at this point but I am sure that I can’t/won’t wait over an hour for something that can clearly be whipped up in minutes. We informed the server that we had to head out since we didn’t expect it to take that long and he says«ok!» No apology or anything else. If you’re looking for a place with similar ambiance but much better service, head over to Pied Cow. I cannot recommend this experience.

The best for late night crepes and drinks. Their buckwheat blend is purly genious. They even have a comvo that includes a PBR.

Great food in a small yet cozy spot with intimate setting. The crepes are all pretty tasty, I have had most of them. Both savory and sweet are excellent. Inconsistency in great service is what took a star away, but otherwise I am definitely a fan.

Amazing drinks and amazing food. People here are so nice, and such an adorable interior. Definitely a place to check out in Portland! Another reason I love living here. :)

This is my second time here, and it’s really a nice place to sit and enjoy some crepes. They serve sweet and savory crepes.

We showed up at about 530pm and the music was blasting. We sat down and tries to hear what the waiter was saying but the music was so loud we finally asked him to turn it down. Once he did that we were able to look through the menu and I selected the special and my wife selected the ma provenance I believe that’s how u say it. Anyways we ended up switching and hen were happy with the food. For dessert we got the baked apple and salted Carmel crêpe that was pretty awesome. I thought though that when u bad apples u should have them peeled idk maybe I’m wrong. Overall I’d probably go back only for dessert

We were not very impressed with the crepes. Though the service was friendly. The waiter forgot to refill my water after I asked but, not the end of the world. At the end of the day, the crepes won’t have us coming back for more, sorry. :-(

It pains me to write a less than stellar review for Le Happy. It’s a super cute place, with a friendly staff… it even has cute topic conversation starters on some of the tables. But why do we really go out and spend money for food? Obviously, to nourish our bodies and eat yummy goodness that we cannot make at home due to a lack of time or energy. Sometimes when we fork over our hard earned cash, we can put up with bad service if the food is amazing. Sadly, my monte cristo crêpe was just subpar. It contained egg whites, tiny cubes of ham, gruyère & swiss cheese, strawberry preserves, topped with powdered sugar. Its sweet and savory flavors sound appealing, but unfortunately it just lacked in flavor. If I go back, I would definitely stick with a classic fool-proof crêpe: fresh strawberries + nutella.

This place use to be a gem. Since it changed hands the wait for food is always longer, the new staff isn’t as knowledgeable, and isn’t as good. Not sure if the new owner fired all the staff or what. But my last visit was terrible. After the long wait my food wasn’t good. My wife and I were very disappointed. Probably not going back. I’ll search out a good crêpe cart.

Meh! That’s all I can say. we got three different crepes and we were not impressed. May be because the owner has changed?! The basic crepes are not impressive. they just lack the texture and flavor. The ambience is good and the card game on each table is a good idea but I won’t be going back. I am sad that one of the late night spots in Portland is off my list.

Seriously meh… Cute décor, Reasonably attentive staff. Waited 30 plus minutes To get a burned crêpe… Sent it back. Should have cut my losses. They assured me it would be quick to get another … So why 30 plus minutes the first time? No one else got food during that time… Maybe Cook was on a break??? Anyway, Brought a new one… Without whipped cream. Round three. I’m a slow learner. Meanwhile Daughter had finished eating. I Ate more than half of it cause I was hungry. Should have just skipped it. Mediocre at best. No joy when check came. Food truck was Closed so we came here. Won’t happen again. Started out well… Went downhill and never recovered.

Cozy place, weird location. I loved my food but my partner dislike the food. So we will keep moving and hopefully find another restaurant!

Popped into this little creperie hidden off the main areas of Pearl with very cute décor. The place is small and when I arrived with a date, there was 2 tables of diners only and we stood at the door for a couple minutes waiting to be seated when the waiter/host kept walking past us. When we finally sat down and ordered, the waiter again was not very attentive. The crepes were mediocre and nothing special. Then I had to flag the waiter down to get our check after our meals were completed for 30 minutes. Overall, just poor, lackluster service and underwhelming food. Not a fan.

The crepes were really good, although I wish they had more fruit options. I gave this a high rating because of the incredible service. We were sad to see this place so empty when we went(although it was a Tuesday night or something). I loved the French atmosphere with a Portland twist. The waiter was super nice, not pushy but very attentive and helpful. I don’t get peanut butter crepes much, but I got one here and it has made me want one every time.

Quaint place to enjoy crepes and wine! Has a personal feel, definitely my go-to place to catch up with a friend or spend time with family while showing them a taste of what Portland has to offer when they come to town. Affordable, tasty food in a convenient location. I also love that I have never felt rushed here, even after spending several hours chatting. Check this place out!

I was so excited to see that a crêpe place that opened up in the Northwest under new leadership, and I was anticipating my first visit here so much! I’m very sorry to say that it was a disgusting experience… I would not come back again. When I walked in, there was a DOG on the counter of the bar and all of the staff were giggling and taking pictures. It took forever to place my order and then when I did, I had to repeat myself about 10 times. I honestly wondered if the person who is taking my order was completely high, because there was such an utter lack of comprehension of anything, even when I said it again very clearly. I feel bad for whomever owns this place… their vision is clearly not being supported by their staff.

Everything in Le Happy screams ‘exquisite’ — the food is delicious without being overpowering, the décor intimate without being dull, and the server friendly without being intrusive. I ordered a Demi Vegan Crêpe thinking it would be an explosion of flavours since it had some seven or so ingredients. But what arrived was absolutely subtle, and felt really posh. I had brought a book along to read, but had to focus entirely on the food, it was so good. The crêpe is big and filling, and I had leftovers for lunch the next day. Will come back for sure. Good for a date, good to go to by yourself, good to take all your friends to.
