One of the best taco trucks in the city. Mostly standard fare but it’s all fresh and cheap. Plus they have breakfast tacos. That pretty much makes this place a 4.5. Oh and you have to try the tamales. They are wrapped in banana leaves. Never been the biggest fan of tamales but I like these.

Nonsense, and from what’s supposed to be a legit truck. Carnitas burrito — no guac or pico as advertised, just rice, beans pork and a bunch of gooey cheese. A couple of onions and miniscule strips of something green. For the clueless crowd, don’t believe the hype.

It’s tough to stand out in Portland food truck scene but Holy taco the crispy fish tacos are excellent, the chili verde burrito is gone so fast my wife didn’t believe I ate it, substituted tamales for enchiladas as they were out of some dishes. Quick, professional, & delicious.

I have been to this place 3 times already, & let me tell you that they are amazing! They have the best food plus best customer service! I also appreciate them so much because today 03÷10÷16 we just came from an appointment! We got to our car that was parked behind there restaurant, and noticed we had a flat tire! We called so many tire shops and none of them were open, or they were disconnected numbers. We are from salem OR which is a 1 hr drive to Portland. Thankfully they came out and the mom and son offered to take us to Firestone. They saved our life’s that day. It was raining and cold. We also had our 3year old daughter with us. Thank you so much to the family from there. We appreciate it a lot.

OMG. THEIRTAMALE… IT’S THEBEST I HAVEEVERHAD… I loved how they wrapped it in banana leafs. It keeps it very moist and flavors are amazingly delicious. I devoured it in seconds, went back on Sunday and they were closed. :(I wanted to order a dozen to take back to Cali. I definitely recommend everyone to try their Tamale.

Had the pork and chicken taco. It was on pint with warmth, texture, juiciness and flavor.:) Totally hit the spot– but watch out for the light orange hot sauce.

Jarochita is by far, hands down, my favorite taco truck in Portland. I’ve been coming here for four or five years, and have never been let down once. That’s saying a lot! My overall favorite item is the trio fajita plate, which is a heaping portion of steak, chicken, and shrimp all grilled together fajita style with peppers and onions. Served with rice, beans, and tortillas, this will have you full for at least four hours thereafter. If you’re on the go, the trio fajita burrito is recommended; it’s good too! Breakfast burritos are also fantastic, as are the standard tacos. You truly can’t go wrong!

Like any food cart, they take a few minutes to prep food. It’s my to go to place for quick inexpensive fish tacos!

Always get the horchata. Always get a burrito. Always get avocado sauce. Always. Fish tacos are pretty tasty too, though the hubby and I usually get the tofu burrito. I haven’t even had it in so long and I still crave it.

Being that Portland has over 600 food stands, I had a difficult time narrowing down which ones to visit. What solidified my decision to eat at La Jarochita was that Jando went there and loved it. Enough said. The competition is strong here since there is a similar(in menu items and price) establishment right next door and I felt kind of awkward choosing since I definitely got a glare from the other guy. Oh well, moving on. Like Jando said, nothing is over $ 8 here which makes for a wonderful cheap, authentic meal. The man working the stand was incredibly friendly and even gave up his last Horchata for me. What a guy. After much consideration, I ordered a Chicken Burrito. Simple yet super satisfying. They pack their burritos to the brim and include all your essentials: cheese, rice, beans, guac and hot sauce if that’s your style.(Warning: the hot sauce is EXTREMELY spicy here. So good though.) Service was extremely quick and I managed to snag my burrito before closing. Those guys were awesome. If I’m back in PDX, I’m coming for you La Jarochita!

This was the last of the food truck on day 1 of our Portland Food Truck extravaganza. Unfortunately, we had already our bellies stuffed with a bunch of other goodies and couldn’t really order some of the larger, more price-efficient items. We ended up trying the spicy fish soft shelled taco, with a decent serving of grilled fish, lettuce, sour cream and their signature hot sauce. The fish was good, but a bit dry; the hot sauce delivered quite the punch, but I think it was made better because how dry the fish was. Overall, I think this place definitely deserves a second look, maybe I’ll try their meat burritos instead. Food: 3 stars Price: 3 stars

I love getting vegetarian non-dairy tacos for cheap here. Two tacos = $ 3. The materials they use arent too heavy. The tacos are a great snack or meal!

Killer burrito; both in taste and size. I ordered Chicken Fajita Burrito and was blown away by how good it was. So flavorful with a perfect blend of all the ingredients. It took them a really long time to get the burrito ready(well over 10 mins) and there really weren’t that many people waiting ahead of me, so taking a star off for slow service. I would highly recommend this place if you have the time to wait.

There is a line here all the time. They really should get a second cart and put it right next door. I swear they would still be busy. The missing star isn’t because it’s such a long wait, but it doesn’t help/ The long wait is worth it for their wet burrito. I got one once a few months ago and haven’t wanted to try and of their other items. I still get my tacos a few trucks down just because I can’t wait 10 minutes for tacos.

This places serves their food pretty fast even with a crowd. I got the combo for $ 7 and it fed me for lunch and dinner. Who knew it would be that much food. I got the chicken quesadilla and it came with fresh avocado, rice, beans, sour cream. I eat it weird where you mix everything together and then eat it. This place is easy to get to and they provide enough utensils to eat if needed. They have a breakfast menu as well but I got there by lunch time. Welp. Also that quesadilla was already calling to me. The employer was super nice and this card was open earlier than some carts which was nice since I had to catch a flight. Thanks for being awesome. =]

Love this place. I frequent this cart, I almost wish it weren’t so close to my work. I have to admit, I always order a breakfast burrito. #4 with potatoes… YUM! Their burritos are huge, like I eat one for breakfast and sometimes don’t eat until the next day. Serious. The staff a really friendly and really fast. They are open earlier than all the other carts. They have a seating area and prices can’t be beat.

I frequent this food truck in the early hours of the morning(usually around 7:00 .am.). Being that it’s this early every time I go, I always get one of the breakfast burritos. The burritos are amazingly fresh, ginormous, filling, affordable, and portable. My favorite burrito is #19 with egg, rice, bean, guacamole, sour cream, cheese, and lettuce, and the sauce which I most fancy is the green one. Any morning I eat one of these bad boys, I know that I won’t be hungry for lunch, a whole 5 hours later in the day.

My Unilocal Friend was hungry as usual after a long flight and circling around all these food carts in this location, he decided to stuff himself with a burrito from La Jarochita. It took a while for Jarocho burrito($ 5.50) to be ready but it was served hot and fresh. Stuffed full with meat with no filler at all! It made a hungry guy happy for made for a sloppy eating experience! Definitely worth giving La Jarochita a try if you have a craving for Mexican food and just make sure that you are hungry!
