Best massage I’ve had in Portland, hands down. I’ve never fallen asleep in a massage, until my experience at Kiva. As I entered, it was a bit odd at first to walk through their café to check in, but I was greeted by a lovely lady at the spa check in desk, given a huge tea menu to choose my tea from(included with my massage) and told that my therapist would be right with me. I actually enjoyed my very short wait, as it gave me a chance to look over their delicious sounding café menu and smell their wonderful bath salts and other goodies for sale. I was whisked away by my amazing therapist through a peaceful and dimly lit hallway to change into a cozy spa robe and then taken to a back room(by the way, once you leave the café area, their is NO noise) to have a foot soak which included a light salt scrub and foot massage, where I was served my tea. There was only one other lady in the room with me for the foot soak, and that was very nice. Hello Heaven! Next I was taken for my 90 minute massage(but first had a light body brushing — aaaaahmazing) which was a fusion of tranquility, deep tissue and Swedish. I fell asleep a couple of times. It concluded with a light facial massage and scalp massage. I opted not to have the scalp oil treatment since I had just washed my hair, but will definitely try it next time. My therapist gave me some stretching recommendations to lessen the tightening in some of my muscles, which I’m still using. The massage left me feeling relaxed and peaceful for an entire week. No massage has ever accomplished that. I will most definitely be coming back. The décor is lovely and the spa is clean and modern looking with a bit of eastern Asian influence. Thank the gods — all of them — for this lovely spa.

My friends and I recently celebrated a friends 50th birthday at the spa. I had a facial with Kiva. It was marvelous! She gave the best scalp massage I’ve ever had. My friends got massages and raved about them. We left feeling very pampered and relaxed. The food and tea are also great. I highly recommend Kiva.
