On our way to run some errands during our visit to Portland. I have been to Greece and Turkey too many times to count and this was a find. Probably the best Gyro I have ever had. I was burping, and that is a good thing, it up for hours. The meat was great, I asked for it spicy, the garlic sauce was divine and the seemed to be pickled cucumber/carrot/onion slaw on top really made this special. Seriously, after traveling the World one of the best Doner Kebab’s I have had.

I am a fan of the Döner Fries. The fries were fried fresh and topped with thinly sliced beef. The perfect size to eat with fries. Then the whole thing is topped with a cream & brown sauce. Tasted pretty good. Overall: might return if in the area.

Been questing for the German/Turkish Doner since 1999. This is not the place. Decent Doner but actually the Gyros near by are better, sad to say. The owner is from Berlin and I’m sure regional variations occur… The bread was like a dry hamburger bun that got the panini grilled. The meat was very smooth, not like the chunky MEAT variances on the spit overseas. The toppings were pretty good, fresh red cabbage n’ wut not. Just don’t think I’ll be eating here again unless this guy changes his recipe.

This is the closest to a European doner I have found. The meat is gyro meat and the bread has sesame seeds on it, only thing I would change. If you have had a doner overseas and miss them, head down here a get one or four. I am ecstatic that I found this stand.

This place is really good and super friendly staff. I thought that the ingredients were tasty higher quality. If you are unsure about something on the menu whoever is working should be able to help you out and may even hook you up with a free sample, that is what drew me in. It takes a small amount of time for them to prepare your meal so please be patient. This is a great option for someone who wants something that you can easily take with you, meaning you can eat and walk pretty easy. Not saying that I enjoy eating and walking but it doesn’t make a mess. Well constructed and tasty, I will certainly come back here again once I have made my round of every food truck option on the block.

Great and awesome doners, the real Turkish style and is the best I’ve had. The service is great and very clean.

Stopped by here since I was hungry and needed a bite to eat. I ordered the Doner plate with fries and it was so good!

Fell in love with Döner when I lived in Austria. This didn’t live up to my standards but I still liked it. They use gyro meat like most places in the US. They also used feta, which was good but not what I’m familiar with. The fries were a bit spicy and very crispy, which was my favorite part. The service was good but took a while. Still searching for one just like Austria!

I haven’t had a proper doner since the last time I was in germany. There’s only been a few places offering doner in portland over the years. There was a place ran by Germans on 3rd or 4th that served turkey meat doner. That place was close but no cigar. The turkey option got a big ol fat child please by anyone in the know. Kelvins joint is the closest I’ve found. The bun, the sauce, the cabbage… it’s like 95% there. Still disappointed. The formed meat was a let down. The $ 8 price tag was a let down. The lack of late night hours was a let down. Dude was totally cool. His doner would be terrible if I tried it in germany. On alder in portland it was sufficient. Still didn’t meet my needs fully.

For everyone who(like me) loved the excellent Doner Kebab restaurant at SW4th that closed a couple years ago, I can save you a trip: this place uses the same foamed gyro«meat» that you can get at fifty other carts instead of the fantastic real animal flesh that Doner Kebab served. It’s great that it uses the doner bun, but when you fill it with the standard foam, that’s a gyro, and you can get them anywhere.

First, let me give the taste review, *5STARS*: I’ve been to Europe and I had Döner at different counties. In the US, at least in the PNW area, people have a different meaning for Döner apparently… Until I stopped by this little food cart by chance! I’ve had a Döner sandwich to give it a taste. It was very tasty. The bread/roll used was very good! The amount of sauce put in the sandwich was not too much which was perfect. This I was able to enjoy the taste of all ingredients! The veggies in the roll were fresh as well. Most of all, the place is clean. And most of all, having Halal served food so all people are able to eat.
