KATU News at 4:30… has become one of our fave newscasts. Natali Marmion, Lincoln Graves and Dave Salesky are excellent.
They keep it very real and conversational, mostly. Natali and Lincoln play off each other well and Dave Salesky has always been one of Portland’s coolest weather dudes. He knows the Pacific Northwest like the expert he is.

What is wrong with Anna Conzano? She actually laughed out loud while reporting the IHOP parking lot collapse! What is funny about something that was probably terrifying to those people? She needs to be replaced. Her manner of delivering the news where she draws out her s’s is really annoying. Good bye Sunday with KATU.

Would’ve been 5 stars, but Dave the new weather guy SUCKS. Seriously… he cannot forecast worth crap. Watch KGW or KPTV for more accurate forecasts. Rhonda seems to know a little more about forecasting, and I feel bad when people call her «Wrongda». But besides the weather team, this is the local newscast I usually watch. Pretty good team and programming.

I did not appreciate Steve Dunn gushing over Luis Palau’s CityFest. What happened to objective reporting? Three different packages on Thursday night, live coverage on Friday at noon?

I feel like a broken record.
Too many shows, not enough content. FAR too sensationalized. AM Northwest is a good morning show though.
Although, I find the channel 2 anchors less unatractive than some other channels, so that at least makes it tolerable.
I just wish they would have one 30 minute news cast that is solely for the purpose of reporting relavant local stories.
