The team we worked with at Porch Light were fantastic. We very much appreciated the no nonsense approach to information on pricing our condo to sell. Throughout the whole process Ben was always on point answering our questions and working with us through getting the condo ready to show.
Once offers came in he was great about pointing out the pros and cons of each one helping us to make the best decision for us. The follow up with the rest of the team, especially Ashley, was always quick turn around and accurate. We loved working with them a great deal.

We worked with Ben and Kate for the past few months while looking for our first home. The level of service they provided was excellent and they took great care to consider our needs, schedules, availability, and general lack of knowledge of the Real Estate industry.
Ben and Kate are quick to respond via phone, text, or email and have office staff members supporting them as well. This meant things were organized and the entire process flowed continuously. We looked at probably a dozen houses before finding our home, and once we did Ben and Kate had the documents ready to go and utilized electronic signatures to make sure we never slowed down.
Throughout the actual buying process we were always ahead of the home sellers. Thanks to Ben and Kate’s guidance we had everything in order, paid for, and signed well in advance of our closing date. Even in this competitive buying environment they worked extremely hard to make things move as smoothly as possible.
I would recommend their services to anyone looking for a home in Portland. Ben and Kate are knowledgeable, courteous, organized, and well connected. All of these things work together to make an excellent team and we would not have changed a thing.

I had actually worked with a different realtor, but changed to Kate because the other wasn’t meeting my needs. This was just what the doctor ordered: Kate reallly excelled and was just who I was looking for! My recent home-​buying process in Portland focused on finding a home in NE or SE, and Kate worked with us efficiently, professionally, and extremely skillfully over a period of about 2 – 3 months.
Here’s a few of the things I loved about Kate as a realtor:
1) Organized. As an example, at the outset she generated spreadsheets with key data on properties and user-​friendly ways to rule in or rule out homes.
2) Local Knowledge. She never used GPS because she knew her way around the streets. As we checked out neighborhoods, she would point out trendy spots, her favorite watering hole, and local conveniences.
3) Fast and timely. Kate was always rapid in responding to communications. Moreover, she often was the one keeping others on-​task, making sure the many parties involved in the home-​buying/​selling process were on-​time.
4) Interpersonal skills. I found her easy to trust and open up to. Even the title officer went out of her way to compliment Kate as being a super-​star among realtors she’d interacted with.

Kate helped us buy our first house in 2009, we had no idea what we were doing and she made it happen for us anyway. The things that stand out about her are many. I love how relatable she is. She won’t hesitate to tell stories from her own experience that can inform the situation, and she isn’t afraid to admit when she doesn’t know the answer. The flip side is that she knows a ton of people in the industry, and she WILL find out the answer!
We enjoyed our experience so much that when we decided to buy a second home as an investment property, we called her again. And again, I was impressed by her up front attitude. She wasn’t out to just sell the first house we saw, I really felt like she was my friend coming along and looking out for my best interest. If something looked a little sketchy she’d be the first to point it out. One of my favorite «tell it like it is» moments was when we were in the 4^th or 5^th seemingly different add-​on of this monumentally odd house in the Cully neighborhood and she said to me «Serra, I feel like if you bought this house you’d be a slum lord.»
I have recommended Kate to at least a dozen people since we bought our first home and, after working with her again, will definitely continue to do so. The main reasons to hire her are that is very resourceful, she will treat you like family with your best interest at heart, and she never wants you to become a slum lord.
