James Wang, ND LAC

My wife bought the groupon deal for Dr. Wang’s clinic, as I have had a nagging shoulder pain for a few months. Now I do not have too high expectation for oriental medicine in general, but he kind of changed my perception quite a bit.
He seems very honest and knowledgeable, albeit a bit shy. I guess it is because he is new, and I am sure it will get better.
What really worked on me was his hollistic approach on getting to the bottom of the issue. He identified what my actual problem was (not going to disucss personal medical issue here). Then he laid down the treatment plan which to my surprise was quite affordable.
I have been seeing him for close to a month now. Saw him about 6 times so far. Always easy to schedule, but that may change as he gets more visibility and becomes busier. Improvement has been really noticeable. I was having a hard time lifting my shoulder in the beginning. Now I can play catch with my kid. Way to go!
The only downside: it is not the easiest to locate his clinic. Also the office atmosphere could be improved. But he just started the business and I’m sure it will get better over time.

I have been seeing Dr. Wang for about a month or so. I am usually very skeptical and hesitant to go to an acupuncturist; several visits to one many many years ago yielded lackluster results. But with some serious back and neck pain, I was willing to give it another shot with a different chiropractor.
I did a search on Unilocal and his clinic was the most convenient location for me (it is at the corner of SW Vermont and Bertha; down the street from Wilson high). I called and was connected to Dr. Wang. He was very friendly and patient with me, even though I was very agitated and edgy due to pain. Scheduling was breezy and I was able to see him on the same day.
Dr. Wang listened to me very patiently for a good 20 minutes, and gave me a very detailed plan on how he was going to approach my issue.
Suffice it to say that his healing hands are godsend! When I came to see him, I could barely turn my neck to the right and had some major back problems. He is attentive, thorough, and listens. I am still very impressed, as well as taken aback, that he wanted to hear my whole back/​neck pain history. A lot of doctors I’ve seen lately couldn’t be bothered with my medical past. He shares his knowledge of the human body in an understandable way and relates it to what I’m feeling.
Since I started seeing Dr. Wang, I’ve had great improvement in my mobility and flexibility. I also wanted to point out that on one occasion I could not make it to my scheduled visit due to some emergency situation, and he was accommodating enough to see me after hours.
The other awesome thing about Dr. Wang is his patient-​centered approach. He remembers conversations you’ve had with him in past sessions. He shows a genuine care in what’s going on in your personal life. He also shares with you what’s going in his life. It’s a great doctor-​patient relationship that you rarely see these days. It makes me feel less of a number and more of a person.
I highly recommend Dr. Wang. I know that he is new and quite frankly I was a bit skeptical in the beginning. But give him a visit and you will see how awesome this guy is.
