Dr Johnson is unprofessional and immature. While quite talented there are a number of ways in which she manages her practice that give me pause. I had a fantastic primary ND who closed her practice and Dr Johnson encouraged me to transfer to her rather than the doctor I’d been referred to. While Dr Johnson knows her stuff, there were so many times I felt my well being suffered because she a) couldn’t do anything without an appointment(including notify me that I should reduce the medication she’d prescribed upon receiving my labs until we could meet) b) made the money/business aspect of her care uncomfortably overt and c) doesn’t keep the lines clear for a professional relationship — too much guilt tripping and emotionality. When I expressed my concern that she would put me at risk taking no action until our appointment, she said I should find another doctor and that she’d no longer see me. Is that any way for one’s primary care physician to behave? Is that a professional or reactionary approach to patient care? I think most will do fine with Dr Johnson — some may wish to stay clear.
