Super cool dude owns this truck. I liked my jaffle a lot. Wife felt it was like a breakfast grilled cheese(which is good to me).

Tasty product here, price is wonderfully low. Unilocal lists the address at the western base of the new pedestrian bridge from«South Waterfront»(read: OHSU /waterfront) to Lair Hill. They must not have been busy enough, as the cart is now on SW2nd in downtown Portland. Today I had the chicken and artichoke, which was tasty. Hey, $ 4 sandwich? Hard to beat! Serving Stumptown Coffee, people seemed to like the $ 1 fill your mug(up to 16 oz) price.

I walked past this place completely by accident and was intrigued with what a «jaffle» was and didnt even think of australians having their own cuisine, ha! This food truck is tucked away at the end of the gibbs pedestrian bridge and is great for on the go sort of sandwiches – but without the mess. The jaffle is completely sealed off on all the edges like a hotpocket, and it was so pleasing to my body to eat in such cold rain weather. The only vegetarian option that isnt sweet is the grilled cheese and tomato, which I got. It was very warm and yummy! I loved how half the cheese was melted and the other half still was a little solid. The bread was great too. There’s a healthier, gluten free high protein low carb option for the bread for an additional 2 dollars if youd like. Cheap prices at 2.50 otherwise! The guy was super nice, and even gave me a receipt which I know is pretty atypical for a food truck purchase. The only problem I had with this place is that I ate my jaffle at my hotel room rather than right beside the truck since it was raining, and so I couldnt get more after realizing how yummy it was! I definitely wanted another one. If it wasnt raining I am positive I would have stayed there and bought another jaffle =) It definitely opened up my appetite!

I finally signed up for Unilocal today(after using it constantly for a couple of years), and while I’m at it figured I need to review this place. It’s a food cart that opened up a few blocks from my apartment around the time I moved in(this summer), and one of the reasons I’m reviewing is that I’m worried the rainy months are going to hurt its business, and I don’t think I’ll survive weekend mornings if it closes :-(. Relatively cheap food(especially in comparison to the only other option in the neighborhood), hot coffee + the cold-brew Stumptown in bottles, and really good sandwiches. The Jaffles are fairly cheap and filling — perfect for hangover breakfasts, or lunch on a rainy day, or really anytime. I haven’t had any of the wraps yet, so can’t speak to them, but I would imagine they’re good. Definitely worth a quick walk over the Gibbs St bridge if you’re in South Waterfront. I’ve heard it can take awhile if they’re busy around lunchtime, but it’s worth the wait, and there’s covered areas around it to wait.
