Really kind staff, neighborhood staple. They have little extras like soy milk. Great beer selection. Korean food truck in the parking lot and a couple of picnic tables.

Love that they have Kombucha, but they’re not very nice to their customers, don’t give cash back and their atm fee is $ 3! I’ll go elsewhere next time I’m doing laundry.

Want a cold 22oz craft beer at a reasonable price? Jae’s Market is your best bet in the neighborhood, outside of Belmont Station, of course. I grabbed a bottle of Ninkasi’s Maiden in the Shade summer-style IPA and went home happy. Beer coolers are on the left.

I asked if he took card since I only had huge bills, he said yes. He ran my card and asked if I wanted a receipt. I said yes and notice he charged me extra. I asked him why, he pointed to a old hand written sign on the counter indicating an extra 50 cent fee. I informed him I don’t mind paying it, but he should be up front about the fee to his customers. He told me it was my fault and I need to look as he pointed at the sign. I told him no need to be rude because without his customers he wouldn’t have a business and all I was asking that he be up front with customers about the credit card fee. Terrible customer service and real shady owner.

The owner is friendly, but obviously a business man. When I went in, I let him know specifically that I was there cause I’m exploring a new neighborhood and would like to make my purchase and take a picture for my review. He cringed! I told him that he was polite and ran a nice establishment, thusly he’s got nothing to worry about. This store has everything you might expect. Travel size pain relievers, baby powder, I phone chargers, snacks and beverages. What you wouldn’t expect, is the tremendous selection of beer and wine. The beer rivals what you would see at your everyday Freddy’s. I mentioned that to Jae, he laughed and modestly accepted the complement and in the good spirit of a small business owner, listed off places that might be «more to your liking». At this market, you’ll be greeted by a great selection and a friendly guy(usually), and if you’re like me and seek out small businesses to help out, explore the immediate area. It’s a lovely neighborhood.

I’ve seriously been coming to this store for over 20 years. It’s like I’ve watched this little store grow up into a halfway respectable place. Believe me, 20 years ago it was not so nice. Now it has a large beer and wine section and is much cleaner than before.

So the wife and one kid were thirsty. nothing near by was open and we stopped by here. I didn’t go in, but they had 2 nice water bottles and the service was speedy. I will definitely stop by again when necessary in the area.

This place is great in a pinch. They have a pretty decent beer and wine selection. Some of their items are way more expensive than other convenience stores/grocery stores, but they’re «honest» about it… as in the owner/manager will straight up say, «we have to stay in business.» As with any business, as long as you expect them to be how they are, what’s to not like?(aka, I only go here when I have to: P)

Jae’s Market is wonderful. The owner is nice. I asked him if he could order grapefruit Perrier for me because I never see it at Fred Meyer’s anymore. He ordered it for me and had it later that week in the shop. It is an awesome store with a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Both the owner and the other co-worker are very friendly and always up for a wonderful conversation!

Good selection of beer and wine for a small convenience store. Wish they had more in terms of groceries but the employees are always nice and the store is clean.

I tried to make a purchase with my visa check card and was told that all card purchases were given a 50 cent fee. I informed the clerk that both visa and MasterCard say that stores cannot do this. He persisted and I left without buying anything. I reported the store to both companies. I would have liked to frequent this place but looks like I wont be back.

Belmont Station, watch yo ass! Jae’s — pronounced Ji-ees, actually, no, that’s how we pronounce it, but Jae’s is bringing the thunder with service and beer. Only in Portland does the corner store have better selection of micro-brews than the entire state of Florida. They also have fantastic bags of ice!

Pretty good place… more beer than Fred Meyer, I think. Advertised as the biggest beer mart on 39th.

Oh yes, oh yes. 5-stars for a mini mart. Yes, I do say so myself. Jae’s gets 5-stars for one reason and one reason alone — the beer selection. While Jae’s selection is not as extensive as it’s sister, the 39th Street Market, Jae’s has a pretty phenomenal selection of beer for a mini mart. Jae’s offers your standard run-down kwik-e mart options of snack food, necessities, and beer. You can find lots of great micros, belgians, and local beers that are usually only available at the better beer stores or places like New Seasons here at Jae’s. Would you ever be able to find a Stone bitter chocolate imperial stout 22 at your local random convenience store? No. The best part? The prices are not a rip-off. While this is not a destination place for niche beers for me, I definitely would stop here before any other local mini mart. Check it. It’s worth your time.
