Hair Bar 47

Andrea is amazing, And super sweet! She gave be the best haircut I have ever had! The ambiance here is very inviting and relaxing. The ladies that work here are a hoot to talk to as well. I will definitely be a regegular of Andreas.

This is my first ever Unilocal review. I am a frequent user of Unilocal and would like to help others who use Unilocal for advice when choosing hair salons. Although the staff is friendly, I want to make sure no one else wastes their time and money like I did at hair bar 47.
I was super stoked about this salon because of the hair bartender idea and the fact that they used chi products. Little did I know that the entire salon is full of brand new graduates (literally 2 months out). Also they are charging the same amount as a stylist that has been working for years. I went in with slightly bleached hair and was wanting an ombré look and brighter blonde. It’s not like I wanted to go black to blonde. I’ve been doing my hair for years and I know how it works (honestly shouldn’t have been as difficult as it was). Toner was not used the day I got my hair done and I noticed two days after leaving salon my hair was orange/​yellow and brassy not the cool brighter blonde I had shown in pictures and we discussed. It was not any blonder at all to be honest. Not a single person commented on my hair (except for my sister who said it looked like I bleached it myself).
I called the manager who was happy to have the stylist fix it (I was hoping to get rid of brassy yellow color with a toner to make the blonde cooler and add a few highlights to the back because it was a lot darker than the rest). Long story short it was toned (no highlights were added) was left on for far too long and now looks like a Carmel brown. Darker than when I started!
Oh ya lets not forget this has cost me 6 hours of my time and $ 170 dollars. This is the worst my hair hair has ever looked (even when I tried to dye my own hair in high school).
If you’re looking for a hairstyle from the early 2000s or for a beauty school quality haircut and color (that is 5x the price) … this is your place. But it you’re actually looking for a current hair trend and to get something even remotely close to what you wanted… this is not the place for you. Pay the extra money and do your research. Because of hair bar 47 I have decided to give up and just dye my hair back to its original color. The staff is nice but I would rather have had quality service.

I’m so glad I finally went to Hair Bar 47! Andrea was wonderful, she offered me several suggestions on hair products for my hair type as well as helpful hints for air-​drying my hair too. The environment was very friendly and warm. I will definitely be back in the future.

Andrea is very professional and friendly. She was very attentive in making sure I got exactly what I was looking for. Rather than getting a quick rough cut at the barber or great clips as I have in the past, I decided to try something different by going to a salon. I am glad that I did, it was refreshing having someone actually take their time and give me a detailed mens haircut. She took the time to texturize and thin areas of my hair on top, and gave me a great fade on the back/​sides. She also did a great job of blending my sideburns into my freshly cut head of hair! I am certain I will come back to see Andrea for my next haircut.

I would 100% recommend Hair Bar 47 for both quality and cost. Keasha did an amazing job on my cut and color (textured layers and balayage), she gave me exactly what I wanted/​needed x10. My hair is so light, blended, and revived I could not be happier. Not to mention the price was amazingly reasonable. Kelsi, the owner, was also super friendly and gave me personal recommendations for my stay in Portland. I will come back here anytime I can!

Andrea was amazing! I went in for a haircut and she gave me exactly what I wanted and she managed to smooth out my crazy overly damaged hair. I just everyone go in and see her!

I LOVE Hair Bar 47, and Kelsi is seriously the best in the biz in Portland! Her service is so great that I actually travel from Seattle to get my hair done.
The vibe of the salon is amazing, and Kelsi always gives me exactly what I am looking for. Her coloring services are fabulous and even 4 – 5 weeks after a hair cut, people are asking if I just got my hair styled.

Kelsi is a magician. I came in with a ratty, nasty mop of hair and left feeling transformed and rejuvenated. I had pictures of what I wanted on my phone but it died right before I made it into the chair. So I vaguely described what I wanted and we found a color that would work well with my skin. She 100% nailed it. The cut is EXACTLY what the picture on my phone looked like and the color is perfect! Kelsi used top notch products (Chi & Biosilk) and took time to stile my new do just right! She gave me samples and didn’t pressure me to buy anything but let me know if I enjoyed the samples I could pop in and pick them up at Hair Bar 47 another day. Kelsi was also super personable and really made me feel comfortable. I relaxed with a glass of wine and magazines while my color processed! The salon was cute and clean and bright. All in all it was a great experience and I will definitely be back! Just found my new favorite stylist!

I could not be happier with my haircut. I told her exactly what I wanted and I got it and I love it. The salon is well decorated and very comfortable. I would recommend her to anyone.

Came in from out of town and got a great haircut! Kelsi hooked me up for the wedding I’m attending this afternoon. She’s the best!
