First off, I’d like to say that I like where icon’s head is at with supporting street riding and general hooliganism. After all that is what this scene has always been about despite the tightening restrictions from the boys in blue. My reasoning for giving such poor star count is because of one jacket out of many items of gear I’ve purchased from them. I think overall quality is lacking in all their products. This particular jacket I purchased was their top of the line patrol raiden jacket. Within one year the «foul weather/​waterproof jacket» had a leak in the right arm. Not a big deal right? I was then on a multistate adventure riding tour and my front main zipper blew out after having semi-​problems with it previously. leaving me with a miserable remaining 1000 miles. I packed the jacket (in hind sight I would’ve thrown it in the trash as to not haul it 3 more states for no reason). I figured «I live locally in Portland, have always promoted their gear to friends and family’s. They’ll take care of this». Not to mention the icon 1000 jacket I’d just purchased 2 weeks before my trip (which was returned out of principle). Upon my return I contacted icon directly, stating my issue and telling them I expected nothing for free, just some help in repairs or replacement. They rambled about a 1 year warranty and that was that. A few emails flew back n forth. The outcome? ZERO help on a jacket that was just outside of it’s one year warranty by a month!!! ZERO HELP! So for supporting local. screw this company and buy something of quality with people of integrity standing behind their product. Don’t buy junk from the motorcycle gear company that runs their show like a used car lot. Take it from the guy with a worthless non waterproof $ 450 jacket that’s now good for nothing. I hear Klim has a lifetime warranty on their gear. It is expensive in the $ 600 range, but considering I’ve had to buy two waterproof touring jackets in the $ 400 range in just over a year, you’d actually be saving money by going for quality and a descent warranty. Icon, I won’t be promoting your product through wearing it or through word of mouth. Possible business strategy for you… Take care of the people that take care of you. If we don’t buy, you don’t eat.

I have had various Icon pieces of gear over the past few years. They have all been good. Just the other day I found out they were a Portland based company — Excellent! I hope they grow and expand their line-​up! As it is, the Icon gear (mostly gloves at this point, but a couple other things as well) I have bought has been a good value. As a note: some of their gear we had purchased lived through a high-​side low-​side get-​off — and protected well, so that’s the whole point, right?

These guys make some of my favorite & best fitting riding gear, it’s hard to find girl’s jackets that are long enough in the torso & arms, but without the huge baggy torso. And to top it off they make a lot of camo products as well!
I just wish there were more men’s jackets that they made female versions of, like the old days! Knock it off with the pink sparkly designs… Not every girl wants to be flamboyant while riding!
