One of my favorite Mediterranean places. Love the daily special. The only down side is that they’re not open on the weekends.

Hush hush is quite the hidden gem in Portland. Only open for lunch but the Mediterranean food is to die for. I will absolutely be back and recommend this highly to other locals.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for the past 6 years and every time the food is the best and test the same. I appreciate the hard work for the owner he is there every single day and I enjoy the taste of the food and the seasoning the falafel the homes the chicken everything and the fresh bread. if you didn’t go there you don’t know what you’re missing… highly recommended

Fast and friendly! We were well on our way to find another lunch spot when we caught a whiff of the delicious aroma coming from the building and quickly turned around. I’m glad we did because we really enjoyed this meal. My husband ordered the Jumbo Gyro and I got the Chicken Kabob plate. The Gyro was enormous and the chicken was juicy and tender. We both enjoyed our meal. –Visiting from Las Vegas, NV

This is by far my favorite downtown lunch destination. Some of the best hummus and falafel in town. Super nice folks and super fast service. The very functional dining room could be better but it’s a great place to drop in during the week for a quick nosh on some amazing food. Hidden secret: ask for the hot sauce. It’s addictive and house made. A tangy spicy green sauce with lots of lovely fresh jalapeños. That doesn’t adequately describe it. Their Kafka is hearty. The chicken always terrific and the lamb is not bad either. They have gyros too but everyone in a 4 block radius does too.

I’m coming back The chicken was moist and tender, not dried out like it so often happens.

I used to think this place was okay, not anymore. I walked in today to place a to-go order. I asked for one thing, they told me I had to order something else because they couldn’t apparently sub the lamb for chicken? Odd. And the chicken that I did get doesn’t even taste like Chicken. It’s super dry! I feel like I’m being yelled at when I place to-go orders during their lunch rush. I get it, you’re busy, but could you please take the volume of your voice down a notch? Shouting over other customers still at the register to get my order in really isn’t that necessary. Wait 5 seconds and treat me like a decent human being, please. There are so many other options for Mediterranean in this town. I have zero desire to go back to Hush Hush.

I was underwhelmed by this place. Got their falafel. It was fine. Nothing amazing. A little dry. Pita was okay. Also not the best. I’ll go elsewhere next time. Food carts downtown have better food than this brick and mortar.

I love Mediterranean food. This place is really what got me started. I have been eating at hush hush as frequently as I can for a few years now. I have tried almost everything on the menu. First thing, the hummus is out of this world. Its not garlicy(I hate that) its rich and creamy and goes on the freshly made all day pita bread that is cooked to perfection. Not burnt, not too crunchy but has a little crunch. Its perfect. I cant go here without having it. The Gyro meat is always cooked to perfection. Always juicy never dry like ive had at some other places. The schwarma chicken is fantastic. Juicy, never dry. The flavor is great with everything. Its a struggle for me to decide between the chicken or gyro every time I come in here. And Nezam the owner is awesome and will allow me to get half of each which is amazing. My favorite plate as I think is most peoples. The Daily Special. Its the same everyday but if he changed it I think alot of people would be sad. It is the PERFECT combination of the best items and you get 2 pitas and hummus with it. It has the fabulous side of salad with their house made dressing, the basmati rice and hummus and meat of choice. You cant go wrong with it. The Jumbo Gyro sandwich is also to die for though. Everything is always fresh. I know Nezam is picky with his food. I will always keep coming back.
