The pizza here is so good! I loved being able to order pizza by the slice & they accomodated my mom’s allergies, which was really nice. A couple of the staff was kind of cold, but I figured they were having an off day or something. I loved the Veggie Slice with Pesto & the Pepperoni.

My partner and I ordered their Nirvana pizza, vegan. Strangely, the person on the phone nearly hung up before asking what we wanted. But we got the order in! Last time we got delivery from hot lips we decided it was the best vegan option around for us, primarily cuz they add daiya! Alas, pizza arrives a little late, a little cold, and without daiya. Our driver was super nice though, offering to explain the situation to his manager. Hot Lips calls us back later to inform us they cannot offer any recompense, nothing! Would have been super happy with a coupon. Unfortunately, the pizza was pretty soggy and tatsteless without the expected daiya.

Eric was the most pizza knowledgeable server I’ve had at a place like this. Great staff and great food. Lots of creative combinations too!

Pepperpineapeño pizza is one of my favorite non-traditional pies ever. EVER. High marks to Hotlips on that alone… The pizza is really quite good… Thin, cornmeal-dusted(and delicious) crust, plenty of toppings and perfectly cooked. Only reason this isn’t a 5-star review is because I waited in-store for a half hour for a pizza I phoned in 45 minutes before I showed up, and that $ 34 for a large pizza and a tiny, tiny caesar salad is far from a good value. Their delivery times have been excruciatingly long, too, which is why I attempted to circumvent the issue by picking it up myself. Not so much, I guess. Value or not, the pizza is damn good.

The person who took my order was really friendly! I kinda just wanted to chat with him, hear about his day, ya know? And the delivery driver was pleasant and super nice, too. But the reason I decided to write this is because I got a bonus cookie with my order and I don’t know if it was a mistake or if this is my lucky day, but Im stoked. And I came to tell you people about it. Ok, back to pizza.

Every Friday we do pizza and movies with our kids. Hot Lips is a common order for us because they love their soda’s. My favorite is the Omnivore Bliss with artichokes. There’s a lot of stuff on those slices and since their crust is really thin it doesn’t hold it well, but the flavors are good. We also like their Canadian Bacon and Pineapple. Their prices are really spendy and I don’t feel the taste justifies the cost. We don’t use them every week, just every now and then, not our fave by far. I think they need to rethink their crust and their prices. Really good soda’s though!

Pretty underwhelming experience all around. I called for pickup, just a simple pepperoni pizza and garlic breadsticks for my boyfriend and I. Waited 35 minutes, as requested, before coming in to pick up. When I got there, they pulled out my pizza, and didn’t have any breadsticks. Upon asking about the breadsticks, I was given the option to wait an additional 6 – 10 minutes for the ordered breadsticks or take the other flavor. I asked«Why would I need to wait for the breadsticks, when I took the time to call ahead and specify my order?» Was answered with«We got busy, take a cookie.» I opted to just take the other flavor and get out of there. I don’t want a cookie, I want what I ordered. What’s the purpose of calling ahead and placing an order if you’re not going to get what you asked for in the first place? To top it all off, I am now home, heating up the pizza that must’ve been ready well before 35 minutes, as it’s cold and dry as hell. Bummer, HotLips.

I got some Hotlips Pizza delivered from this location as part of the Postmates promotion. I ordered two slices of pepperoni. I received two slices of plain cheese pizza, though calling it cheese pizza would be an insult to pizza. My pizza was way undercooked, had virtually no sauce, and had less cheese on it than a frozen pizza from the store. The pizza in no way resembled photos I have seen of their pizzas online. It’s the worst pizza I have had in many years. I thought about feeding a piece to my always hungry retriever, but thought better of it! I do understand they may have been slammed by the Postmates promotion, but sending out bland, very undercooked pizza isn’t helping either company build business.

The pizza is ok. Not the best not the worst. Nothing to write home about. Asi Asi. Not too bad. Get the picture?

Hot Lips has saved my ass on more than a few evenings when I cannot be bothered to whip up a duck confit, peach galette or throw some human souls on the grill. As many reviewers have said, it’s not the best pizza you’ll ever have(if it is, bless you my child– so mote it be) but you cannot beat their friendly voices, prompt delivery, and accurate orders– never had a screw up once. I wish the pizza was a little more luscious with the cheese, but for you carnivores who enjoy spice, the grinder sandwich is an exemplary choice with different salamis, cheese, crunchy onions, olives and pepperoncini. I’m a sucker for those things. Got a cold? Outrageous homework demands? Too hungover to cook? Hot Lips will keep you warm, carbed out and get the job done.

What goes better with beer than pizza? I’m sure a lot of things, but after slamming down a few we were both craving cheese pie for dinner. But after a really long travel day and minimal sleep in the last 48 hours, delivery was the name of the game we wanted to play. And finding a local joint was the rule. Hotlips came recommended based on the quadrant of the neighborhood & after finding nothing that swayed us otherwise, they were our contender. Being a Friday night, I knew I wanted to get the order in a little earlier than typical because we would be guaranteed a wait. We were told an hour. Not stellar news but totally expected. And the delivery guy was right on time within the hour promised. Thumbs up for that! The pizza(Italian Combo) was piping hot & hit the spot. Super cheesy, the right balance of sauce, and a thin crust that still had a bit of chew to it. Our Sweet Tooth cookies were the perfect end to the day and we were ready for bed with happy tummies.

If I could give this place no stars I would but it won’t let you write a review if you do that so they get one undeserved star! We ordered this slop(take-out) last night and it was awful! The salad was brown and the pizza was barely cooked all for $ 32.00? The delivery guy also forgot to bring any parm cheese or red pepper flakes even though I asked them to send it(WTF)! You must be pretty hard up and rich if you order this crap! I’d rather go hungry… never again, they just lost a customer, and yes it really was that bad, in fact we threw most of it out and ate cereal for dinner!!!

This is my favorite take-out pizza in Portland. Not much ambiance at the restaurant, but they always have good beer on tap and the people who work here are pretty nice so I’ve eaten here a fair amount too. Compared to big corporate chains, the prices are higher, but my assumption is that the quality is also higher. Also, I’ve eaten pizza from hotlips all over town and they are very consistent.

I work at New Seasons and every once in awhile I need to stretch my legs and get some food outside of the store. Don’t get me wrong, i haven’t eaten a bad meal at NSM, but once in a while, I want something else. I’ve had Hotlips pizza at the house but I hadn’t been in the store itself and since it’s right outside where I work, I decided to grab a couple slices. One cheese, one pepperoni, well done, hopefully. I got my grub and took a seat outside. No rain. Amazing. The pizza was crispy and the dough decent. The pepperoni could have used more of a kick and well, a pepperoni taste to it. The cheese was not bad, but I still added red pepper flakes and some salt to my slices. They were good slices to get on the run. Nothing fancy. The place is small and of course they want you to get their fruit sodas. Too bad I don’t drink soda, I’m sure they are pretty good. I can make my way back here soon. Enjoy.

We always go here when we come to Portland Oregon. The food, beer and staff are always great. We always get a large pizza but they also have slices available, which I appreciate.

This is a pretty good place to quickly get some decent pizza by the slice. It’s not the best pizza you’ll get but I’m not saying it isn’t good. It’s really just slightly above average pizza. I rate 4 stars though because the bread sticks are delicious and so are their homemade natural Italian sodas. I came in about 20 minutes before they were closing so they gave me some tasty cookies for free!

I waste more time here on Friday nights than I did on bad dates in March of 1998. Every time I come here there is a delay. I like the pizza and the staff is great, but the pizzas are either burnt and have to be remade or tonight’s fiasco: the oven stopped working. Every time. Definitely a place to go if you have the time to wait. In all fairness, they did give me two free salads.

Great pizza by the slice. A bit spendy at $ 3.50 — $ 4 per slice. I made my order including a pint of beer and while the two slices were being heated up I paid and waited. For some odd reason I tipped when I paid. Stupid me. Really? It’s not like there is table service here. They all work behind the counter. When I got my boxed slices and beer and took a seat I discovered one of the two slices was NOT what I ordered. It was my third choice and the same cost. My friend who was paying commented to the gal at the register«I’ll bet he doesn’t even know he got the wrong pizza.» So it was obvious the gal working there knew. But did she offer to make it right? NO. Friendly but inaccurate service that doesn’t care and doesn’t deserve a tip. Good but expensive pizza by the slice and decent beer.

The Sunday flavor: asparagus, peppers, mushroom, & cilantro pesto is to die for. Great selection. Good variety. Vegan and vegetarian options. Great beer and wine selection. Service can be slow but is generally friendly. Nice and clean. I like that.

If what the physicists say is true — and I have no reason to doubt it is — that the universe is composed of infinite time and finite mass, then it follows that every possible arrangement of mass will occur at least once. With this in mind I am grateful for the unique arrangement of atomic mass which happened last Thursday. This peculiar arrangement included the mass that is Me, and the mass that is Hot Lips Pizza, and a dose of divine intersection. I walked in, out of the North Portland cold, and I was greeted by the warming charm of the Hot Lips cashier. He was patient as a Sunday afternoon as I examined the slices of pizzas. After careful consideration, I set my mind of the triple sausage, a more extravagant choice, along with a simple slice of cheese to analyze the basic formula of the Hot Lips recipe. The meal was a blur of color and light, all warm and transcendental. I was neither here, nor there and it lasted for what seemed like decades. When I finally came to I let my bleary eyes adjust back to the Earthly spectrum of light that I am accustomed to, and I took a deep breath as the natural world filled in the voids of my peripherals. Next, I opened the door to exit Hot Lips and I looked back, and I met eyes with the friendly cashier who had taken my order. Words were unnecesarry, and a single head nod from the both of us locked in what I now remember to be a stellar dining experience. I put on my headphones, and Toto by Africa was playing at the chorus, and I remembered that Kurt Vonnegut had once written, «everything was beautiful and nothing hurt.»
