I usually have a good time at this establishment, but there’s three things they fall short on– all on different occasions. First being customer service over the phone. A particular customer service representative literally hung up on me today after offering me free tickets to a show this weekend. I wasn’t prepared to commit to a date and time on the spot. His solution: buy my own tickets. Click. I called to complain, and while I was given a(passive aggressive) apology, I hung up with the understanding that this practice was standard procedure and not going to change. Second is finding funny comedians. I went to a show where they literally had to take the headliner off the stage and fill his time with the previous act because, in short, he was terrible. Third is customer service at the establishment– specifically, food. I’ve had to wait over an hour for nachos. Not cool, and I probably won’t return because, rude staff, bad comics and slow food is never okay for this kind of establishment.

This is my second time coming to the show. We enjoyed it and all comedians were great. We got there early… glad we did since it was packed. Food was great. I had fish n chips and my husband has the Harvey’s burger. Both were good. Parking is a little challenging and after the show several unwelcoming peddlers out side. Both of these things are out of the restaurants control but if coming alone or small crowd be aware. When we return to Portland we will try to make another show :)

Harvey’s Comedy Club is a joke! My friends had invited me to attend the comedy club during my inaugural visit to Portland. Like many comedy clubs, the establishment yields an ambiguous sign at the entrance that reads«Two Item Minimum Requirement for All Guests.» What are«items»? Paid/Unpaid? Orders/Non-Orders? Two pieces of clothes? Anyway, I first ordered a «Harvey’s Hurricane»(it was subpar)… My second order attempt was, a Strawberry Daiquiri(Daiquiri mix, house rum, and 151 rum)… During the order, I asked the server to replace the 75 proof 151 Rum with the regular house vodka. The waiter seemed a bit confused about me asking to remove the«151“from the recipe, maybe he was unfamiliar with the bar menu. Then as I repeated my order, the waiter appeared very short tempered and rude… As a result of the waiters standoffish demeanor, I cancelled my order request. The waiter then returned to the table and told me that the bar had a «two drink minimum». When I refused to pay for a drink, the bartender added a $ 2.50 bottle water fee to my bill. I refused to pay for water that I did not order. Most importantly, I refused to pay for rude customer service. I informed the manager at Harvey’s and then the manager demanded that I not re-enter the comedy hall if I had not intended to purchase two items. The manager then asked the waiter to remove the water from my bill. Basically, I was kicked out during the show. The manager refused to go and get my friends, so I stood in the hallway until my friends came out. Bottom line, if you like rude waiters and unfriendly customer service and the possibility of getting kicked out a comedy show during an act, then this the place for you!

The prices are high to compensate for the«free tickets» but there’s a 2 item minimum per person. They don’t specify if that’s two paid items or not but that’s what they expect. So if you get a glass of water and another beverage, you’re expected to purchase something additional. The comedians were not very funny and the service staff were rude. If you decide to try them out, remember you get what you pay for…

Came here for the first time on Friday night(5÷20÷16) and had a great time. The comedians were funny, especially the main act, and the waiter was quick to bring out the drinks to our table and often checked on us to see how we were doing. I’ll definitely be back in the future.

I don’t know where to start on this place. I will say 2 out of the 3 comedians were hilarious the third one got there late and said didn’t write enough material so he started blabbing about dumb non funny stuff. The food SUCKED and was terrible I would have rather gone to McDonalds than eat that fake food. I mean the waiter told me that the burger was hand made and out of wagyu meat, well not sure what kind of meat it was but it was frozen crapola. I can’t believe I spent 13.75 on that and he never asked how I wanted my burger either. I honestly won’t be coming back to this so called amazing place.

Comedians were great but the service was absolutely terrible. Arrived at Harvey’s at about 9:15 didn’t even get acknowledged by a waitress until after 9:50.(Two drink minimum yet can’t place an order to save your life) Meanwhile we sat and watched as everyone around us was waited on and served. Asked the waiters, waitresses and hostess many times how long till we could place our order and were ignored. Finally placed an order for drinks and the waitress ran off so fast we didn’t even get a chance to order food. The first act was over before we even got our first drink. Not to mention the waiter that was serving the table behind us,(his name was Mike, I confronted him and he shook his head and was liked away) LITERALLYSTEPPEDONME! More than once. Not even once did the man say excuse me or ask me to move, he would come up from behind me and kick my legs out of the way and if I didn’t move fast enough he would just step on my foot. By the way I’m on crutches did that matter to the waiter kicking my legs? Nope. Was so looking forward to night out with my friends and the service literally ruined it. If it was up to me we would have left half way through the show. Terrible experience.

A group of 7 of us went last night with free tickets we had won, which was awesome. Mind you, I’m only giving 2 stars instead of 1 because of the comedians. The service and food was terrible. My guy and I ordered the nacho and mozzarella sticks. Mozzarella sticks totally something they took out of a frozen bag. In fact I feel like I’ve had them before at a cousins graduation party. The nacho was so subpar and nasty, I can’t begin. Think of just a plate with refried beans out of a can with cheese on top of it, with warm bagged shredded lettuce and chips on the side. For a place that makes their revenue on food and drink, shouldn’t it be at least ok? Very disappointing. Didn’t get our food for 50 minutes, 30 minutes after our surrounding tables got their burgers and dips. We saw our waiter twice the entire hour and a half. My sober companion ordered just an RC, and got his bill for 12 bucks. 4 dollar fountain cokes each with no refills without mentioning? Nice. Keep it classy, Harveys.

Comedy was okay. The bad part was that they require you to buy 2 things from the menu… And they are extremely over priced. $ 5.50 for a Coors… WTF

This place is cool. The comedians have been funny the few times I’ve been here, they send out free tickets if you give them your info while you’re there, though they sometimes give you crap seats that you can hardly see the stage from when the tickets are free, which is to be expected I guess! There’s a 2 item minimum purchase and the drinks are expensive(think: $ 5 domestic beer and $ 9 cocktails), as is the food(fish and chips are around $ 15 and the food is basic). The location is… Chinatown, filled with what seem like the most-drugged homeless population of Portland and I have worked downtown around Pioneer Square for 5 years… Chinatown is the worst area I’ve encountered. Unfortunately, the last time I was at Harvey’s a few weeks ago(Jan 2016) I parked on the street and my car window was broken out and a few items were stolen. My free tickets to Harvey’s cost me $ 370 in replacement window and gear. But I don’t fault Harvey’s for this… it’s not their fault. They do get marked down for the sketchy, terrible location though.

I love visiting Harvey’s. Great comedians. The food is eh, but it’s a comedy place not a restaurant. I’m disappointed in the shots we got this time because we all wondered if it tasted slightly watered down. Thankfully Tony Baker was hilarious and you didn’t need alcohol to find him funny or have fun.

If you want to LMAO, this is the go-to place, free tickets if you sign up but you have to order at least 2 thing. We always enjoy being here, good drinks, good foods and the employees very welcoming. They usually have Friday and Sunday event. There are comedians coming from everywhere. I highly recommend here if you want to have fun and release your stress from a busy week.

My husband and I laughed our butts off tonight. The comedians were very funny. We arrived about 20 minutes before the show started. We ordered drinks and appetizer. The drinks were very tasty and the spinach artichoke dip was warm and yummy. By the end of the evening my rib cage hurt from laughing so hard. Can’t wait to come back for more laughter and good times.

Comedians are great, and the later the show the more interactive! Unfortunately the management and the employees are far from professional. It’s not only petty but passive at best. There is a 2 item purchase minimum and believe you me they will not let you enjoy the show until you’ve met the order. Even if you’re working to find something you can actually have.

I got a phone call that I won 16 tickets to Harvey’s Comedy club(WOW16? — lol). So I looked up the performers and invited a bunch of my friends to the show. What do you win when you go to Harveys? Well, you get to sit in a room with a bunch of mismatched tables that are dated to the 70’s and haven’t been updated in easily 10 – 15 years. On top of that, we were coming from dinner, and we were pretty much forced to buy a drink(I don’t drink) and food. If I «won» those tickets you should have hooked me up with free dinner or something, not a bunch of «free» tickets for my friends to come in and pay for your overpriced drinks and 1 star tasting food. Now to the main and most important part– The comedians The first two talked about how screwed up their lives are, joked about overusing on drugs and drinking too much, and the comedian who spoke about drinking, literally took shots throughout his whole comedy performance, by the end of it he was slurring his words. I laughed only on the last comedian, disappointing. The whole point is to come, laugh, have fun. If you get a call or text that you have won tickets, make sure you know it isn’t a trick for you to come in and spend money with your friends.

Very old comedy club, they need to do something with this stage, make it a bit lively or something. Food is ok, drinks are good, the seating arrangement s are odd, some tables face the wall and you need to adjust your chair to face the stage. It is an ok comedy club.

Let me preface this by saying that two of the three comedians were mostly funny. Mostly. That’s the important bit because this is a comedy joint and you should get what you come for. I never belly laughed. And I didn’t drunk-walrus-hand-clap laugh. I did chuckle a lot. The room is clean, no sticky table tops or stained carpeting, while still managing to come off as dirty, in a sketchy way, like you know something is off, the feeling of shadiness is palatable. It’s almost like they’re trying, and failing, to create a sense of highbrow exclusivity(the«reserved» tables and overpriced menu are good examples) that isn’t representative of reality. The dubiosity intensified after the drinks arrived. I ordered a vodka-diet that was either the weakest drink I’ve ever been served in my life or missing vodka completely. I suspect the latter. My companion in comedy ordered a whiskey on the rocks. It arrived in a large shot glass. I’m quite certain it’s impossible to fit a shot and ice in a glass that size. But, hey, at least we knew his had some booze in it. We passed on ordering food as the menu was cliché and repeatedly featured the phase, «a giant platter of» which is only appealing if you’re drunk and stripped of your better judgment. Reread the preceding paragraph so you know we weren’t. I’d pass on a repeat visit. There’s too much awesomeness going on in Portland to spend a night on mediocre amusement and weak drinks.

ANDREWNORELLI, YOUAREAMAZING!!! I was so impressed by amazing skill to make people laugh! Andrew Norelli finds the most common, mundane everyday thing and re-invent it into a barrel of laughs! I think it’s very hard nowadays to find a good comedian that doesn’t have jokes laced with curse words or about sex, but somehow Andrew Norelli masters it perfectly! He’s the epitome of good, wholesome, family friendly jokes! He doesn’t have to resort to cuss words or sexual innuendos to get a good laugh from his audience! I had a great time enjoying his comical talent and if all the other comedians here are at his same level, then I wouldn’t mind coming back more often! I ordered food here, a burger and a salad. Both were decent tasting. I honestly didn’t have very high expectations for food at a comedy club, but they weren’t bad. They were a little on the expensive side but I think that’s mainly how they make their money, so I’ll forgive them for overcharging me. Overall, I really enjoyed my night here and I can’t wait to find some time to come back and laugh myself silly again!

Portland, OR: Came here because my best friend had tickets. I doubt I would pay the money to come back. The feature wasn’t great but I’ll give full stars to Steve Barkley, the headliner. He had some seriously funny moments and his accents were amazeballs. The comedy club itself is clean with decent visibility of the stage. The service was pretty darn slow but it is the food that really brings down the ratings; I’d give it — 1 stars if I could. I didn’t have any drinks but I will tell you not waste your money here on the nachos or the fries… ew. Final words: it’s a decent place to spend $ 15 bucks on a Saturday night but make sure you grab your grub somewhere else.

Seriously, don’t order food or drinks in the Hoyt ‘restaurant’, the server was kinda rude and so slow, but that’s because at the beginning of the busiest time of night on a Saturday, she was the only one on the restaurant floor taking orders. I ordered the rowdy Rodney piper burger, it was pretty good. I asked for a knife to cut it, took 20 minutes to get one. I ordered the purple hooter, that was pretty good. When my sister asked about some vegan/vegetarian related info she was meet with snarky attitudes. You’re in Portland, for crying out loud, expect vegans. The server we had in the comedy club was named Mike, he was awesome. I ordered an a.m.f, it was good but a little weak for an amf. The opening act was funny but was obviously a ‘warmer’. His comedy was a little crass, lots of sexual innuendo. The middle act was so funny, honestly made the show, his last name was Frost. The last act, first name Don, swore too much and was crass. He was funny, though. I’m not prude, I swear like a sailor, but that was even a little much for me. I’ll go back, but I’ll skip the restaurant and just order when I’m seated and maybe research the comedians a little first. There’s a two drink minimum, or a drink and some food minimum. Easy to meet when your with friends enjoying the show.
