H&R Block

Avoid! They overcharge for incompetent work, and if they mess up, you’re on your own. The man at the front desk at this location is incredibly rude .
HR Block prepared my return several years ago, and I received a letter from the state informing me that I owed $ 1,500+ in taxes and penalties. I moved to Portland from out of state, but the office in the other state told me to visit my local HR Block office and they would help me resolve the issue. I came into the Lovejoy location and tried to explain the situation to the man at the front desk. From the start, he was extremely unprofessional and rude, repeatedly interrupting me, helping 3 other customers who came in after me, and asking questions under his breath and when I said «what?» he’d wave his hand and say «nothing.» He was literally incapable of figuring out how to make me an appointment with an adviser; after 20 minutes, he finally proposed a time, and I said I had a meeting then but could do an hour later. He scoffed and said «you’re just gonna have to wait.» At that point I was so fed up, I walked out.

1^st time to an H&R Block
RUDE! I had a 7p appointment with my tax preparer. I showed at 6:45p. The gentleman who greeted me told me my preparer should be finished shortly. Ok no problem.
About 6:55p when it didn’t sound like things were wrapping up the greet assured me it would be shortly.
At about 7:10p I popped my head to the greeter and he forgot who I was, and said oh so sorry he should be done any minute.
At 7:30p the preparer was finally ready… ok long wait but I still need to get my taxes done. Sat down and the preparer asked me what I was completing I started to tell him and not 2 seconds into the discussion he said …“oh this is going to take longer than the ½ hour we have for your appointment and unfortunately the previous appt. went over, so you would need to schedule a second session and come back again”. WAIT, WTF? So because you went over a ½ hour and had me sitting for 45 minutes I have to come back? How did that work… Further why were you able to go over by ½ hour for your previous appointment?
And how come the lady who came in AFTER ME get to do her taxes with another lady who was completed with her in 10 minutes???
