45 minute wait for an egg sandwich is in no universe remotely acceptable. The rest of the customers here are all looking incredulously at each other, wondering if this can really be happening.

This is my third time coming to Fried Egg I’m in Love and I love it so much! I am a fan of both eggs and sandwiches, so these breakfast sandwiches are perfect for me! I have brought my boyfriend and mom here to taste their sandwiches and they agree this place is great! I’ve ordered the Yolko Ono, Yolks Zeppelin, and the Egg Zeppelin. Yolko Ono($ 7) is the least expensive of the three. It consists of a fried egg, pesto, parmesan, and a sausage patty. It was scrumptious! The first time coming here I ordered this sandwich but it did not make me full. Yolko Zeppelin($ 9) is what I ordered the second time coming here. It is the same ingredients as the Yolko Ono but double egg and sausage. This definitely made me full and was delicious! It tasted exactly how I remembered it the first time coming here. Egg Zeppelin($ 8.5) consists of two eggs/sausages/Tillamook cheddar, and aioli. I ordered this the last time I was here and maybe I was not that hungry(?) but I couldn’t even finish this sandwich. However, it was very delicious. After trying these breakfast sandwiches I would have to recommend either Yolko Ono or Yolko Zeppelin. BEWARE: While eating these breakfast sandwiches the yolk may sporadically pop and get all over your clothes! This happened to me last time and it got all over my hair and North Face jacket. This little yellow food truck may be hard to miss but keep your eyes open! They have about 5 tables for seating and I always see customers bringing their little furry friends with them. I love seeing the different varieties of dogs. Alcohol is permitted but only in the small seating area. Would recommend this place if you are in the area!

This place does amazing breakfast sandwiches. The Yolko Ono is my favorite, but they have numerous other great choices. The people who work it are also super nice. definitely worth a trip or many.

With the name of Fried Egg I’m in Love and all their sandwiches have cute food puns like Yolko Ono, I was skeptical. As a native Los Angeles, I’ve been to plenty of places with cute pun names with cute décor only turn out I paid for bourgeois shite. This place, however, was no frills(straight out of those silvery airbus trailers) ACTUALLY lived up to its music legend name. Every bite I took was magically delicious, I’m still salivating at the memories of my sandwich. The food coma hit me so hard after finishing off the Yolko Ono that it was a nice, satiated flight back to home. 10⁄10 would recommend here for a nice breakfast sandwich. Yes, I’m in love with you, Fried Egg.

It’s a yellow food truck on the side of the road and when we finally found it, we did a quick U-Turn to go eat. We love eggs and we love sandwiches so this was perfect. I got the Yolko Zeppelin(like Yolko Ono but double everything because I’m insatiable) and added a bit of sriracha and omg best breakfast sandwich, so good.

Love the concept of this place and the food! Eggs are cooked to perfection and they offer a variety of sandwiches and ingredients, all of which are fresh and tasty. The sandwich bread is crispy/toasty, but still soft and buttery. A great spot to grab a quick breakfast.

Oh my God I am so in love with this place ! already I haven’t even finished my sandwich and it’s the best I ever had veggie sausage is tender and flavorful a perfectly toasted bread havarti cheese from tillamook. It does not get any better than this this place lives up to its hype ! It’s the truth!

I got the Yolko Ono(their signature sandwich) and it was delicious! It was all fresh off the griddle and they had a few condiments I could add on(I used Sriracha). There’s a small outdoor seating area which was super convenient so I could enjoy my sandwich for a few minutes. The only lyrics thing holding back from a 5 star review is the price. $ 7 for an egg and sausage sandwich? I’d go back again I think, but that pricing irks me.

In the Hawthorne street food truck court, FEIL is my go-to place for breakfast when I’m in Portland. Yes I know there are a million options, but this is one of the BEST. I love what the food truck revolution has done to both elevate street food to a valid culinary category and also to make delicious food more affordable to the masses. You may be waiting in line here on the weekends but let me tell you it is totally WORTHIT. The Yolko Ono sandwich is TDF — the eggs are friend over medium to perfection on fresh sourdough toast with house made sausage. And all for like 8 bucks. The owners are super friendly and aim to please. Plus Café Tov is right next door, which has the best espresso in Portland. It’s just hard for me to eat anywhere else. Love these guys!

Wow, this place has gotten so popular. My food took a good thirty minutes to get in my hands after ordering. They have a good system down, but it’s just so damn busy on a Saturday morning. The sandwiches are simple — but you can customize them with caramelized onions and avocado to make it just like you would at home.

What can I say, I sucka for a good food pun! Yes and this now infamous PDX food car continues to deliver the goods 6 days a week for over 3 years now. Started by two bandmates &9−5er’s who decided to take their jobs and shove it… by following their dream of opening a canary yellow food cart along SE Hawthorne Blvd that serves us badass fried egg sandwiches… and hence, Fried Egg I’m In Love was hatched(see what I did there?). Yes there’s usually a bit of a wait… but it’s soooooo worth it peoples! I’ve tried a few of the other varieties but the ever-present Yolko Ono is the money shot friends… perfectly fried eggs on toasted sourdough, pesto, parmesan, homemade sausage patty! And being band dudes, all the menu items are creatively named after bands or songs: Egg Zeppelin, Sriracha Mix-A-Lot, Back in Black Bean… you get the picture. Oh and I guess I’m obligated to mention why yes they do offer vegetarian and gluten free options if you’re so inclined. So how can you not give a place using MAGICEGGDUST5 stars?! Well, the answer is you can’t. And I won’t. Nope. But mostly it’s the magical fried egg sandwiches which shan’t disappoint you… I promise.

This food cart is just OK. It took over 30 mins to get our 2 sandwiches and I am frankly not sure if $ 7 for one sandwich was worth it. You sure DON’T get a whole lot for food for $ 7 for one fried egg and their very FLAT sausage with creasy /soaked in butter sourdough. Ate half way and have to pass it on to other who are still hungry.

Because our first choice of food was closed, we decided to choose this place. But it was a good decision, because this place was so good! The yolko ono and the mutilation were both very good. It felt like we waited a while for the food to come out, but the food was fresh and the egg was cooked perfectly! There are a few tables right next to the truck, which was nice.

This place is amazing. Best food truck ever with covered picnic tables. The best egg sandwich I have ever had. Crystal and Will are awesome. Delicioso! Back again after 14 days. Love this place. Will come every time I travel to Portland.

Delicious sandwiches. Ordered the Yolko Ono and also tried the Huevo Mutilation. The Yolko Ono was really, but I couldn’t really taste the sausage. Overall it was tasty, and I would get again. My mom ordered the Huevo Mutilation and tried a bite of it. The ham was a little on the salty side but still really flavorful and good. There are a couple benches outside that are shaded, but the place can get a little busy. Be prepared to take the food to go.

Pretty solid breakfast sandwiches right here. My boyfriend and I both ordered the Yolko Ono and we weren’t disappointed. I thought it lacked some depth, but if you’re just looking for a quick, dependable breakfast sandwich, this is your spot. The bread was crispy and the sandwich wasn’t lacking as far as substance. Ya get what ya pay for here. Thanks, guys! Oh, and don’t forget to top off the breakfast experience here with a Stumptown cold brew.

Ugh I love this joint. Their puns are punny and their sandwiches are ridiculously good. I usually come here before I head out to the Gorge for a pre-hike meal because it’s on the way. The Yolko Ono is my go-to sandwich. Packed with pesto and their homemade sausage on top of the most perfect egg, you’ll want another. This place is consistently good which is why I always come back. This is a food truck but they do have outdoor seating and at times, a long wait. But it’s worth it and if you’re bored waiting, just walk over to Blue Star and get your sweet tooth fix on playa. Then go on that hike I told you about because you’ll probably need it.

This has quickly become one of my favorite Portland food carts. All the sandwiches have cool music themed names and any sandwich can be made vegetarian or gluten free. I had the Yolko Ono, subbed sausage for bacon and added avocado. I would highly recommend this sandwich, the pesto is amazing. The staff is super nice and when they forgot the avocado they were quick to apologize and make us completely new sandwiches. I’ve also tried the Smells Like Protein Spirit which is equally as great as the Yolko Ono. I can’t wait to try the rest. I also recommend adding the aardvark aioli to any of the sandwiches, it is to die for. They also offer Stumptown Coffee /cold brews with milk which is my favorite coffee and their mimosas are great too. It can get a little crowded so try going on a weekday to avoid the wait!

This little food cart was quite literally the best accident my boyfriend and I stumbled upon while visiting Portland for the first time over the weekend. Everything from its set-up to its workers and down to the sandwiches themselves was perfect and ever-so-unique. Who would stand in line, not once but TWICE, over a two-day period to eat an egg breakfast sandwich, that had a 30 – 40 minute wait each time? US, and we would do it again and again with no regrets if we lived there. I know, it sounds weird and downright stupid to wait that long for something that you could easily whip up yourself from the comfort of your own kitchen, but there’s something magical about these sandwiches and their eclectic names that made us come back when there’s so many other food carts to enjoy in the food hub that is Portland. My boyfriend was also enamored by their Stumptown cold brew, and their homemade sangriaciata(for those 21+) was pretty damn delicious too. Come here early to beat the line, you won’t be disappointed! And even if you don’t come early, come anyway!

I love food trucks, but I swear this one is one of the best I’ve had. First bite into the Yolko Ono(washed down with a sip of mimosa) pretty much took me away from the torrential downpour that was happening(yes, we braved a freaking rainstorm and I also lost an umbrella because we heard it was that good). Everything about the sandwich, from the toasted bread to the perfectly cooked egg, was fantastic. In addition, we lucked out because there was hardly any wait(apparently people don’t like rainstorms… go figure), so we were able to get a seat and eat within 10 minutes. FYI, since this is a food truck and in a relatively small space, there are only four outdoor benches with an overhead tarp set up next to the truck. Perfect if it’s sunny and beautiful, unfortunately rather wet and windy when it’s raining(but duh, common sense)!
