Fred Meyer Gas

Unfortunately, I had a misfuel at this location. It was a new kid, and the one day I wasn’t paying attention he put gas in my Jetta, instead of diesel.
Regardless, I want to give a huge shout out to Bradley, the manager at the station, and everyone who works at the Burlinggame Freddy’s. They handled everything with extreme professionalism, and swiftness. Brad went above and beyond to make sure everything was covered, I got a rental for the entire time my car was at the dealership, and even bought me lunch while waiting for the tow truck.
Despite the unfortunate circumstance, the Fred Meyer customer service pleasantly surprised me in a world where customer service seems to no longer be a priority. It was refreshing, and renewed a new hope in my mind for businesses to hold themselves to higher standarsd. Thank you Bradley, and thank you Fred Meyers for being at the top of your industry. :)

Since opening several months ago, the service has deteriorate noticeably. No matter what time of day I come, they seemed to be terribly short-​staffed. I hope this downward trend does not continue.

I’m a fan. Other than Costco, this is always by far the cheapest gas in our area. Plus, you get to use your Fred Meyer points which brings the price down even further. It’s a new, clean station and the attendants have always been friendly and efficient. I’ll definitely keep coming back.

Shame on the managers. Two (possibly three) employees on a Sunday morning — always busy on Sunday. Cars 6 deep 8 lanes, and two guys running back and forth trying to help everyone. They were very sweet and apologized for the wait — it was obviously not their fault.

It’s gas, it’s inexpensive, and the folks are efficient. I could have dealt without the guy trying to sell me an expensive can of FW1 wax, but he was not too pushy.

I love Fred Meyer gas stations — nice to be able to use your rewards card and save a bit. Honestly though, this location is terribly understaffed. I’ve been there probably 20 times since it opened and about 15 times had to wait way too long for 2 people to serve a dozen cars. I want to like them, so I will keep trying, but they should really try to staff appropriately.

What makes a 5 star gas station? Good question. There isn’t any such thing as fine gas pumping or gourmet gas, so you just have to just judge them all against each other.
Here in Oregon, we are at the mercy of the gas station owners and attendants to get gas and get going. So, a 5 star station would have enough attendants to adequately service all of the pumps without you waiting an excessive amount of time. This gas station always appears to have enough employees to keep things moving along. I also see the employees hustling. Not running, but always on the move and not visiting.
Then there is price. The gas here is cheap. Combine that with your Freddies points and you are practically stealing the gas.

Why write a review of a gas station?
Because this one does many things right and we want to encourage that.
Bioswales to absorb the rain water runoff from the large paved area. Suggestion to turn off engine while waiting in line. Employees in reflective vests. Signed lane flow patterns. Very reasonable prices. Landscaping, including rosemary! Motivated staff.
As a branch of Kroger, the largest grocer in the country, they are still experimenting with what other products to sell.
