Finders Keepers Thriftshop

This business is now closed. Tried to visit them last week and the building was empty and surrounded by a chain link fence.

My prior review still stands at 3 stars. «Updating» because the business has closed its doors for good, and wanted to give people the heads up. If there is another way of doing this through the Unilocal app, as far as mark the business «no more», let me know.

I had a business deal to put books out in exchange for getting first dibs on good books. I worked one day and came back and was told I was going to get second dibs on good books and that the 10 boxes I put out in 3 hours was not good enough that I was «rifling through the books and not doing work. You have to work for what you get.» I said flatly that getting second dibs on books was not okay and that I had worked very hard. The person criticizing me was the one demanding first dibs on everything. I’d worked with him before and liked him but he’s an old man who is obsessive about his books. I had things to do that day and I said I’d be back in on Sunday because the book person I had a disagreement with would be in and I didn’t want drama. I came in and was blamed for not talking to the supervisor sooner and they reneged on their deal. Nepotistic and ignorant business dealings. Get everything in writing and demand respect because they’re not capable of giving it if they aren’t forced. Waste of my time to even talk to them and try to work with them.

This was once a nice thrift store to shop. It has become a goodwill clone.

This is a REAL thrift shop! I always end up frustrated in hip thrifting areas like Hawthorne, so finding this place was a godsend! Cheap stuff (even when it’s true vintage), plus half-​off sales on Saturdays, and a great variety of clothing, furniture, and knick-​knacks. It’s also a lot bigger than it looks from the outside! One piece of advice: definitely clean any clothes before wearing – I got a nasty rash from a shirt I didn’t wash first, and I found used Kleenex in a few different coat pockets. Yuck!

Well I guess my standars are much lower than the person who complained of the dust I love love love finders keepers. as for the chiped china if you take it to clerk they will mark it down as the chip is usually caused by a customer. I am a senior and they have great mark down for us if you are a senior. Wednesday is thier day. They also have truck rental service for rates that I am sure are cheaper than name whose I won’t list. I would wear gloves if I was worried about dust.

This place is crammed full of crazy stuff, and it just gets bigger and bigger as you head back through the store. Don’t be fooled by the small storefront, it’s huge inside!
The front of the store has men’s and women’s clothing, including a pretty good selection of vintage wool and cashmere coats. It’s a real hodgepodge, though, with glassware and bottles stuffed on racks of women’s clothing and all kinds of random objects jammed together, so don’t expect a lot of organization as you wander.
Toward the back there’s a housewares area with some great vintage cookie jars, pitchers and glasses, and trays/​serving pieces. There’s also a book section with books, magazines, and comics. Around the corner from that is a sewing/​craft area, and wherever you go, be sure to look up at the «grab bags» of small items that are bundled together for $ 2 and up. In the very back is art and furniture, so don’t miss out on that.
The employees are friendly and happy to answer questions if asked, but otherwise you’re on your own to navigate through the jam-​packed aisles and discover treasure. You have to have some patience and be willing to dig through the stacks, so this may not be the best if you’re looking for one specific item or only have a few minutes. Garage-​sale and estate-​sale lovers will have a blast in this place!

I’m a thrift shopper who’s gone hither and yon to go junk shopping, so I’ve been in a few 2^nd hand shops over the years and I can’t disagree more with the other posters. I found the shop to be dirty, dark, overpriced (5 bucks for a chipped ceramic teapot seemed steep, but maybe I’m just cheap!), to be fair I didn’t look at the clothes, I was turned off by the layers of dust. It seems sad to me that a thrift shop in a depressed area has some of the highest prices around. It is a treasure trove of old stuff, however. I don’t imagine there’s a lot of turn over of merchandise, as many items looked fairly settled in.

I love this place. Good stuff, good prices, nice employees. the isles aren’t all blocked and cluttered like you’d expect from a place like this.

I could actually spend an entire afternoon rummaging through this place. I spent at least 15 minutes simply searching among racks of clothing and piles of books… I couldn’t find my boyfriend. We did arrive together.
I’d gotten distracted with a tower of games and puzzles, then yards of dresses, vintage wedding dresses, then costumes and coats. Appliances galore ranging from something you’d find in your grandmothers kitchen cupboards, to your mothers… maybe yours? He wasn’t there among the worn yet workable furniture, twenty year old magazines… the rooms that went on and on, each more filled with ‘one man’s treasure’ than the last. Finally towards the back of the shop I found my man milling around the tools and sporting goods area. We both agreed that a person could find almost anything they need here, if they just look long enough! And at a downright reasonable price too.
I left with a piece of fabric, soon to be the coolest hat ever. Actual cost, 89 cents. Ah, the joy of treasure hunting! I highly recommend getting lost here.

Shhhh, don’t let anyone know that 124^th and SE Powell Blvd is not that far away. Not if you want to find 70 cent racks of awesome clothes, or fantastic furniture, like the kind you would pay big money for on Hawthorne for super cheap. Finders Keepers is a HUGE warehouse chock full of insane deals. Huge book section that takes a keen eye and some time to dig to get past all the romance and mass market but one can find some serious treasures upon those shelves. Housewares abound, tools and sports equipment, adorable plant pots and cute suitcases, walk into the back its insane! I have been frequenting Finders Keepers since middle school, they used to be my secret place for vintage tees and 60’s Jackie O wear. The same people have owned it forever and the sweet lady always sets aside macramé plant hangers for me when I come in. Since they are so rad, with such amazing prices I think its only fair I let more people know.
