Fifth Avenue Place Apartments

I lived here for only 6 months in 2010, before (ironically) breaking my lease to go manage an apartment complex in SE. The manager at the time was ridiculously helpful and friendly and for me to be able to afford to live alone in a pet friendly building was a game changer emotionally after two big breakups within a year, an out of state move, a career change and health issues. Being able to have a space to myself, in a well kept building, close to everything in the city, was so wonderful and liberating!
Though the neighborhood has a little more noise than I’d like (some call it colorful, but I call it normal, being from «colorful» SF), which is why I give it a 4 instead of 5 star rating, the building itself was always clean and safe and Chris was always available to help. I was initially put off by the term, «income restricted», imagining some crazy halfway house, but I realized quickly that it simply meant we had cheap rent and lots of federal money because we aren’t wealthy enough to live in a fancy Pearl condo with a doorman!
All in all, it was a very positive experience and I recommend the building and the manager.

Pretty decent apartments, right in the heart of everything. Chris is a great manager, very professional. The only issue is that the apartments are quite loud at night, with various street walkers/​yellers/​singers/​hoodlums causing a ruckus late into the night.

Love it here. Great management and maintenance team. I’ve lived here nearly three years and have never had a problem that wasn’t solved immediately.
