Great shop. Bottom line. The guy’s here are no-​nonsense and work hard every day for each bike that rolls through the garage. Scott and JD are super helpful and if you call in and show interest in what they are doing, they are always willing to move quickly, give status updates, or work some way out to help the rider. Scott and JD are my new saviors. I need to explain what happened prior to my bringing my bike to Scott because it’s important context to their integrity and workmanship. I will be taking my bike only to Fast Bikes and recommending them to all my friends.
I have a Custom 1200 Sporty that I used to get serviced at All American Cycle, they put aftermarket pipes, big sucker air cleaner and of course a kit in the carb (not sure which) and it ran like no ones business. A true dream machine. See I am part of a group of guys and I was the only one who took my bike somewhere else, they all used a guy in Vancouver and I just wasn’t in love with his work, plus I am super loyal. For eight years my bike ran like a dream, fast and loud, did I say fast.
I put my bike away to have wrist surgery so it has sat for a year, got it out a month ago to get ready for my annual ride and of course as you would expect discovered the carb weas pretty lacquered, it ran fine but popped. Since All American was gone I decided to take the bike to where my friends go.
Dropped it off, one week later went to pick it up. We went over my almost $ 500 bill and he mentioned that my carb was done all wrong and that he gave me a great deal on rebuilding it and I should love the power etc. He started it up and I knew immediately it was wrong, it had no loud rumble like before, it was barely staying on and the idle sounded strange, then it kept dying. But I thought hey, I will give it a shot. I got out on the freeway to head home and it was sputtering, popping and had zero power or throttle response. Shifting between gears was sticky at best and it kept catching Neutral. I didn’t think it would stay running but again I said hey, let’s take it out longer.
Rode it out to Forest Grove later that week and it was just terrible. Slow, no throttle, sounded like a Honda Shadow and shifting was awful. It just wasn’t the same bike, it was worse now than when i brought it in initially. I talked on the phone with him and told him I wanted to bring my carb back to how they had it before, to undo all he did and to fix my shifting. We agreed to meet up the next day. I took it over there and after some arguing about it he put the carb back to how it was. it sounded a little louder but once I got out on the road I knew it was over. By the time I got it into Portland it was running on one cylinder and I had to hold the throttle and clutch at all times to keep gas going it. It just kept getting worse and worse.
now comes Scott, I did some homework on the mechanics from All American and found Fast Bikes. I contacted Scott, told he what was going on and arranged to get the bike to him the next day. Not only were they honest and fast but they are very reasonably priced. We had to put some parts back on the carb (parts the other guy removed) but once that was done it was running perfectly. The gears and clutch are a dream. it’s all that I loved and remembered about the bike.
Above and Beyond: So one little thing happened after I picked it up, it died on the freeway. I called them first thing and JD came to my rescue on his bike. We discovered that I had to keep it on reserve and that I had burned through so much gas getting it to them on one cylinder that I couldn’t trust my mileage anymore. JD rode my bike and I rode his on the way back to the shop. He fixed it all straight away and honestly this was on me. This shows their customer service level, he rode up on his stead and saved my bacon.

Scott and JD did a awesome job on my Suzuki burgman 650 went over on the job but only charge 8.5 hours for the whole job plus parts. I would recommend it to everyone that’s wants a honest shop and trustworthy too…

My tires on the bike were feeling a little sloppy. I stopped in, and the mechanic let me borrow his air compressor and tire gauge. Got me straightened out in a couple of minutes.
This shop is filled with beautiful bikes. All V — twin. It is a sight to behold.

I came in with my Kawasaki twin, and was given excellent service. The person behind the counter came out and spent a few minutes looking over my bike, making some recommendations and then sold me some gas treatment. The shop is clean and professional with some very nice bikes inside. I plan on going back for some tuning. I was here before with another bike and received stellar service also.

This is a place for your bike and not the pedal pushers all over Portland. This is for the scoot. The Harley, the loud rumbling machines that put fear in old people and scare small children (except mine). These guys will work on any motorcycle, but they do older Harley’s and all Harleys. Break out your panhead, shovelhead, knucklehead, evo, 88 twin cam, flathead. Whatever engine you got that’s a v-​twin. They can do something about it.
This is a hole-​in-​the-​wall shop but it’s got motorcycle history all over the place. $ 70.00 an hour is the shop norm, but my guess that beats the HD shops in the area. You also gotta figure that in a place like this, the techs have some history and intimate knowledge of the motorcycles that they work on. These aren’t guys straight outta motorcycle school with their first jobs. These guys are most likely as crusty as the bikes they work on. That’s a good thing. You want someone who knows the insides and outs of those engines, especially if you are going to trust them with your motorcycle.
Granted, in my case, I can do a lot of my own work on my Harley, but not everything, and I’m glad I stumbled upon this place, because I will take advantage of their experience when I am in need of it.
So glad there are still shops like this around. I was told by the guys there that quite a few small shops of this nature have all closed down and there are less than a handful in the Portland area. So if any of you do have a motorcycle and are in need of some work that’s more than you can handle, swing by Fast Bikes and support them.

Great customer service and work at this shop. They take the time to make sure everything is 100% and have reasonable prices. They keep my 1980 Yamaha Riva running strong, I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

If you ride a motorcycle, this is the place to go if you need work. Since I used to live out in the burbs I used to go to the dealer where I bought my bike. I thought I had got a deal on the bundled 2 years of maintenance. After coming to Fast Bikes, not only was the deal in comparison only so so, but everything including tires was cheaper!
The work they did on my bike was outstanding. They were very quick considering the riding season is on us (3 days vs 2 weeks). And unlike the dealer, when I got the bike back it actually ran and handled better or as good as when I bought it 5 years ago.
I can’t say enough about these guys. I checked out a lot of shops in Portland and many of them didn’t care if they got my business or not. Hell some even argued with me bout whether some of the work I wanted was even necessary. Not Fast Bikes though, and that’s why they got not only my business, but my loyalty as well!
Unless I’m doing it myself, my bike is coming here from now on. It told me so.

Almost a really good experience… I went in for a new tire and oil change thinking I was just gonna sell the bike. Scott helped me to see I should keep the bike if I just had some adjustments done. Despite having a quote of $ 25 less for tires elsewhere, Scott told me there was no other tire that is cheaper that would fit my bike. After a few weeks, I came back as advised to have things tightened up. I tried 3 times to ask him exactly what I would have to pay for on this return visit and he was very vague and said 10 – 15 minutes of work isn’t going to be much. I was grateful that he was able to sell my old muffler to another customer but when he asked me for a cut I was a little taken back… I thought I helped in gain another customer that he then could charge for the labor to install it but he wanted a cut Plus $ 125 for the supposedly 15 minutes of bolt tightening. When I asked why it went from 15 minutes to 1hr and 15 min he became irate, turned red and almost started screaming at me as if I should know why. I had just paid him $ 1000 two weeks prior and we had set up $ 400 worth of work to do in the following month and then he flips out and treats me like crap for asking why the difference in time estimate. Last I knew, I was the customer and customers have the right to inquire what the workers do during the time they charge. Other reviews show Scott as taking advantage of people… I definitely felt that. I was the dummy and he was pulling the strings. That little freak out he pulled cost him my future business and hopefully that of those I tell.
