Katie was amazing. So friendly and made me feel very relaxed even before the massage! Will definitely be going back to her! I feel amazing now :)!

My whole life my back has been plagued by pinching, compression and soreness resulting from scoliosis, and more recently from running and training for half marathons. Suffice it to say I have jumped at any chance to treat my poor back with a little kindness and healing throughout my life, and getting a massage with Katie turned out to be a great decision toward that end! I explained some of my major concerns about my back(soreness in my left shoulder muscle extending towards the neck, compression of my lower spine, and so on) and it turned out that scoliosis is something that she is intimately familiar with, and she knew just how to relieve my lower back tension. It was wonderful. I spent the rest of the day post-massage feeling lighter, more centered, and incredibly grateful. As someone who has been lucky enough to experience more than a few massages in my life, I have to say this is among the best I’ve ever had. I will definitely be returning as soon as possible for another session with Katie!

Wow! That is the one word I would use to describe the massage I received from Katie. Her hands are MAGIC! Katie has the training and knowledge to really diagnose and treat many different types of muscular issues. I suffer from mild chronic back pain and have been looking for relief for quite some time. In one session she has already made my back feel so much better. Not only can she treat muscle pain, but her skills in relaxation massage are amazing. Every other massage I have ever got crumbles to the floor in comparison. I actually fell asleep on the table. For me that’s a big deal. She’s really that good. I recommend her to everyone. Believe me, it’s worth it.

Fantastic experience! She used some awesome oils that smelled a little like cinnamon(of course, asking if I was okay with that first). They served as a reminder throughout the rest of the afternoon that I had a very relaxing massage. Excited for my next visit!

I went in for a general body massage. She was able to identify which muscles were fine and which ones needed attention without me having to tell her. I felt great afterwards.

A few days ago, I helped a friend fill up about 900 bottles of Pinot Noir. If you’ve ever bottled wine(which, duh, of COURSE you have), you know it’s a lot of repetitive motion. Hunching over bottle corking levers. Nocking empty bottles into wine spigots and removing full bottles just as quickly. Handing sanitized bottle after sanitized bottle to a fellow factory slave, only to find a new crate full of dusty bottles behind you for washing. It’s good times. Goooood times. My back hurt so much the next day. Enter Eudamonia. Eudamonia is a fairly new massage studio in the Flanders House on NE29th and Flanders St. It’s a big house, filled with a smattering of what appeared to be health-related professionals. Although her name isn’t listed out front yet, Katie Fuller runs Eudamonia. She was waiting in the front lobby for me when I arrived, and directed me to the third floor where her small(and SUPERADORABLE) studio sits. On the door is «EUDAMONIA» spelled out in scrabble tiles. So cute. Inside is an extremely soothingly lit room with mason-jarred seedlings all over the place and eastern music playing. She told me I could take my time and settle myself on the massage table. I pretty much tore my clothes off as soon as she left the room because I’m a tense person and tense people just wanna get shit done fast. But oh how that changed over the course of the next 45 minutes. Now, I’ll be up front here: this is the first time I’ve actually had a professional massage therapist give me a massage. Sure I’ve had the odd friend rub my back or beat up my shoulders, but oh my god this was so different. She asked me if there was an area that I wanted her to focus on, and I told her that my lower back had been giving me trouble. I also rambled on a bit about one of my ears. You know how your ears make this«I’m in an airplane» noise when you yawn? Well one of my ears does it more than the other now. It’s weird. Anyway, during the massage my back pain faded away and I was the most relaxed I’d been in a good long time. Five fucking stars. When all was said and done, she let me know that the lotion she used was a bit goopier than usual, and that(and I quote), «I probably would not go to sleep with that on my body.» What? You expect me to go home and perform another extremely relaxing ritual by covering my body in deliciously warm water? Oh noooo. I haaate that. Anyway. Great first massage. Give Katie a shot; she’s awesome.
