Elliot Walter General Contractor

Elliot did a large basement remodel for us this year. It involved taking a 1200 square foot unfinished basement with concrete floors and walls and turning it into a family room with a fireplace, a large workout room, an office, and a laundry room. We really wanted something that was very comfortable, classy, and well-​lighted that did not feel like a basement.
We are extremely happy with the work that Elliot and his crew did for us. A remodel of this scope could have been really disruptive, and yet I was able to continue to work three plus months from home during this undertaking, which included cutting of support posts and adding steel beams. They were very considerate and conscientious. The work was finished on time and on budget. Elliot’s communication and availability during the project was excellent.
Elliot’s lead craftsman, Dave Mcgregor, is talented in so many areas of construction. Both Elliot and Dave are very creative with coming up with tasteful solutions to problems as they inevitably arise during a remodel. The finish work of the built in cabinets, the bamboo flooring, the painting, the custom sliding doors, the tile work, and the fireplace was all excellent.
We feel we came away with the best basement in NE Portland and have enjoyed it tremendously. I would use Elliot Walter GC again for a variety of future projects.
