Love this Greek restaurant. The lunch specials are really good, great food at a good price. They make the best Tzaziki sauce to go with your lamb sticks. The eggplant dish rocks, so flavorful and delicious. Their prices are really reasonable and the people are so friendly there. The fries are also really good, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and the toppings make it so much better.

Cute lil spot on 23rd with awesome service. I keep going back since each dining event is such a great experience. The food is great, even the tiny spinach salad that comes with the platters is so delicious. The meat is cooked to perfection and served over an herb rice(mmm) Their prices are very reasonable and they have lunch specials. The only thing I will note is that portions are pretty small, I always finish my protein way before I would like. Service is SO stellar here, will always happily go back

Really one of my favorite restaurants in Portland. Their Moussaka is out of this world. Especially on a cold and rainy day. Love!

Such a lovely experience all around. My boyfriends family is from Greece so he got to talking to the family who owns Dorio. We had a lot of fun chatting with them. The food was good. Being vegan it’s really hard to find something to eat at a Greek restaurant. But they had an eggplant dish that was easily made vegan with no cheese(even designated on the menu!). It was delicious. I also had some spicy hummus with carrots which was also good. Can’t beat the prices too. My boyfriend got the keftethes, pastitsio, and saganaki. We each had the house red as well and some ouzo shots. My boyfriend has also had the chicken souvlaki skewer a couple times before and loves it. It was really the family’s warmth that sold me on this place. It was a solid 4 stars between the food and the prices but the family brought it to a 5 star review with their friendliness and great service. Go to meet them and get some solid Greek food while you’re there ;)

We are a language-oriented family so wanted to practice some Greek! The hospitality was amazing. The food was delicious. The drinks were delicious. The dessert was delicious. Serving sizes were perfect. I’m sure whatever you order it will be amazing. Lots of regulars in the restaurant this Saturday night. The owner was extremely cordial and we can’t wait to come back!

Far from anything Greek or authentic. Gyros was underwhelming, lack of flavor, chewing and almost invisible. Horiatiki salad was 90% romaine lettuce, barely any tomato or cucumber and for that matter Feta either. For anyone who has ever had real, authentic Greek Food, steer clear. Have had a much better and meatier Gyros at fast food stands! Only saving grace was the server and the above average cocktail. Oh by the way, the menu says they have a happy hour but I was informed it was null and void when I tried to order a happy hour cocktail! Portland has much better choices, spend you money elsewhere!

Taki has created a phenomenal restaurant with hard to beat hospitality. I am currently counting the days until I can come back and have his homemade hummus again. This is a must go to place!

We’ve been here twice now and both times the service has been excellent, the food delicious and the atmosphere warm and inviting. I love to order several items to try each time and nothing has been disappointing. The eggplant is melt in your mouth, moaning sounds good — and I’m not a huge fan of eggplant! The spanakopita is so rich and moist, it needs no accompanying sauce. The calamari is crisp and tasty. I could go on and on. My eyes are almost always bigger than my stomach and they are gracious about boxing up extras. The food is just as good reheated the next day. This would be a regular stop for us if we lived in Portland, and will be a favorite place to return to every time we visit.

I had an amazing time dining here. The employees are friendly Greeks– they’re extremely helpful and create a lovely atmosphere in their restaurant, sort of made me feel like I’m in Greece. I really enjoyed to food, it’s very authentic, healthy, and tasty. I’d have to say their dessert Chocopites is delicious. OPPA!

Server was nice but service was really slow with just two tables(including us) and a guy sitting at the bar. Food was very mediocre. We had Nagasaki, gyro, hummus, fries and a couple other items from the HH menu. Nothing stands out as more than average tasting and it was a bit pricing even with some items at HH price. My wife’s cocktail was terrible and she even asked for more soda to dilute the taste. Not sure how this place has 4.5 stars, but the number of reviewers can’t lie right? Maybe we didn’t order the right food but I would be reluctant to give it another try.

The food is not bad, but so expensive and tiny. I even looked at pictures before but was not expecting the plates to be as small. The meat in the lamb gyro was fairly tough and fatty in parts. I feel like I have have less expensive, bigger, and better quality gyros at other places. I probably wouldn’t eat here again. Staff was friendly enough, but the food also did take quite awhile to be served.

We first tried this place a month ago and have gone back numerous times since. It is fabulous food and great service. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual which is always nice. It’s a family owned restaurant with amazing Greek food all made with old family recipes. If you love French fries well these are the best in town. The hummus is amazing to and the gyros are so fresh, made with meat they marinate in house. Check out this son and mom restaurant next time you are on 23rd!

This is such a cute little place. Its a great family business with great quality of food and friendly service. The pita bread in the gyros was definitely homemade and fresh — unbelievably soft and so delicious! The taziki(sp?) Was also homemade and pretty tasty! The side salads were a good sized had realy fresh ingredients. The salad dressing was really nice and light and had great flavor. The fries were super delicious and crispy! Great place overall, just looked a little lacking in the inviting decorations. Definitely a stand out restaurant since so few places offer such fresh food.

Gf liked her avgolemono soup & spinach salad. My vegetarian gyro, a concept I hadn’t seen before, was very satisfying. I enjoyed my Pelican Tsunami Stout from Pacific City, OR. The kalamari was average – nice seasoning in the breading(all too rare), but the squid was a little tough. Our server(Mary) and the bartender were both really good. The bar is a good place to watch the game on a weeknight – not too crazy crowded.(Go Cavs – Go Warriors!)

I seriously love everything about this place. The food is excellent, and everyone is very friendly. My mom and I come here at least once, every time she visits. I love their Moussaka, and their meatballs are the best I’ve had. They practically melt in your mouth. I tried the meatball gyro tonight. Oh my god, heaven!

Delicious! Not a huge selection, but definitely good. I had the eggplant and though on the tiny side, the flavor was huge. Totally forgot what my husband got, but he liked it. The spanakopita was one of the best one had. This place is a must try and we will be back.

Maybe it’s just me but I find it really hard to find good Greek food in this city. I really really wanted a nice cup of avgolemono soup and some moussaka. So, in search of nearby Greek food we decided to try Dorio. It was walking distance from our apartment and the reviews looked good! Let’s give it a shot. We were greeted right away and sat a table by the window for some good people watching. Our server was a really sweet and friendly woman who took our drink and food orders right away. All I knew is that I wanted that delicious lemon chicken soup in my belly. And as mentioned earlier, the moussaka — I’m a sucker for a great moussaka. The drinks kinda took forever to get to our table, but it’s all good, we weren’t in a hurry. Then the soup came. Let me just say that when I picture avgolemono soup I imagine it being creamy, thick, just lemony enough with perfectly cooked orzo and slow cooked chicken. Unfortunately, that’s not what I got. It was suuuuper brothy, not creamy at all, and really quite bland. I had to add a lot of salt to even taste anything. I was bummed. But then the moussaka came out and all is forgiven. I must say I’m a little biased because I happened to have had the best moussaka of all time in Greece at a little café by the water in Katakolo. Ever since then I’ve been super picky about my Greek food. I must say Dorio’s moussaka was really quite yummy! The flavors were great(could have used a bit more salt but no big deal) and the bechamel was perfect and creamy. I will definitely be going back to Dorio(really good happy hour as well) but I won’t be ordering the avgolemono soup.

I have absolutely nothing negative to say about Dorio, but as I’ve ordered the lamb lentil soup each time I’ve gone and the tyropites once, I can’t personally comment on the rest of their menu. Other people I’ve brought here have loved everything they’ve ordered(hummus plate, moussaka, fries, pastitsio). The restaurant has never been full each time I’ve gone, which I know is a turn off to some people, but the atmosphere is very low key, the staff are all very nice/pleasant/favorable adjectives and the food has always been delicious. So if you’re in the area(and a lot of people always are), Dorio is a great place for food and drink.

Sad? Come here. This is one of those places that oozes good energy. Greeted with a warm welcome and smile(ancient Greek secret), I began to think a warm embrace with kisses on both cheeks was to follow. Greek music in the background further set the tone, in a warm yet modern décor. With a seat at the window overlooking the street side on a rainy day(hey, it’s Portland), I went with two things for lunch, difficult choices from a menu filled with all the traditional Greek items(OMG, yes!): 1. Keftéthes(meatballs) — a small plate of super tender meatballs, with a lovely texture and hint of mint. Also known as Greek Amazaballs. I could pop these in my mouth like candy all day log. The menu states«Grandma’s Greek spiced meatballs(recommended with a shot of Ouzo!)». I ask you, who wouldn’t like this?(5 stars, $ 6) 2. Moussaka — fresh, packed with flavor, nice lunch portion… albeit no sides of any sort… and perhaps, a bit oily. The béchamel sauce, in particular, was perfect.(4.5 stars, $ 9) 3. The flat bread which is the pita here, was warm, soft, and delicious.(4.5 stars) With free wifi and an order of their amazing looking garlic/herb/cheese fries, this could be habit forming. I mean, for writing. Yeah, for writing! Service here is absolutely lovely and sweet(5 stars). Shout out to the co-owner, Mary. After our chat and the great lunch, I felt as I’m in the family. Efxaristo. I left Dorio’s with the yearn to return(that’s patent pending). They have many more things I want to try. Recommend. This is a 4.5 stars rounded up – worthy!
