Denny’s

Horrible service! Walked in right after a rush. Lots of people were leaving. We were not greeted at the door. Stood there for 5 minutes before someone put us on a wait list. This made no since to me because half the restaurant was empty and nearly half of the tables were clean. We waited 15 minutes to sit at a table that was already clean the whole time. The next 10 minutes we waited for our menus to come. Another 15 minutes it took to take our order. After our order was taken server brought me soup. I didn’t want the soup until my meal was brought to me so server takes it back. 45 minutes later our food comes out and server puts my soup in the microwave creating hot spots but not hot still. So i got partially cold soup. All three of our meals were cold. I got my sandwich but no onion rings yet. I asked where my onion rigs were and server replies «i only have two hands!» Funny part was that she was holding an empty tray. I thought thats what the tray was for. From the time we sat down at table to the time we got all our food it had 70 minutes. The restaurant was about 1 quarter full. Thats a long time to sit with two kids under two. I got French toast plate for my two year old. Server brought me a children’s build your own slam meal with scramble eggs and 1 bacon and one sausage. Weird that if i had ordered the BYO slam why did she build it for me. By that time there was no point in saying anything because we would be waiting another hour for child meal. At the end i complain to management and he takes off child’s meal. Food was over greasy and not worth the 45 $ we spent. Dishes where served dirty to us and our table was walked by many times without anyone even taking the dirty unused plates off. What a waste. Save your money!

Hey, it’s Denny’s. Hey, this location is A-​OK!
Everything was perfectly acceptable. Kiddie wanted to go for the rudolph pancakes; which he immensely enjoyed! The man had the lumberjack, so there was no need to make him dinner that evening! I had the philly cheesesteak omelet, was eyeing my man’s sunnyside up eggs, so I think I ordered wrong; my own darn bad.
I’m sure we’ll be back. I’m sure it sounds funny, but there was a decent, small-​town, greasy spoon, diner charm to this chain. It is probably the mix of pdx + ‘couve (laughing!).
Long story short: if you hanker some Denny’s this location is perfectly agreeable. The Janzten Beach location is NOT closed, but I do suspect that the address changed during the JB reno.
If you like Denny’s, this is a perfectly fine Denny’s.
p. s. bring your dollar bills if you want to try your hand at «the claw»! They had a ton of minions and JW dinos while we were there. Wish we would have snagged one :))
